All "random" numbers, events, etc. on computers are based on seeds, you can't not have a seed. Computers are not random. Unless you buy a quantum RNG unit, you can't ever have true randomness. Different games use different methods of obtaining the seed.
i forget what i even said to incite this comment lol yeah i know essentially how RNG works. you know, i did see once that some company somewhere used a wall of lava lamps to create more "random" seeds for some algorithm they made, and i thought that was pretty cool and clever!
