    Nice job on your bumper 👍
    I like that you mentioned how a project can change as your build evolves, sometimes it’s hard to know exactly how you want something till you actually start building it. Great work and excellent editing too! Thanks for sharing your bumper build with us! I completely understand how much work it is make something like this, especially when you document it, sometimes just getting the camera shot ready can take longer then the one part your trying to cut. Take care 🙂👍

      Thanks man! I really didn’t plan for everything to go the way it did and that made the video really hard to make haha. The editing took 2x as long as the build but I was going for a certain vibe. Thanks so much for checking it out and for the kind words!

      @@FlawedOffroad I have had videos go like that before, sometimes it feels hard to tell the story because of gaps in the timeline, or a change of direction as the project changes. Thanks again for posting 👍

    Cool video, shop banter is 100% better than weird noise though.

      Fair enough. I try to make a balance. On longer videos its nice to speed through some sections and change things up. Other times I have music playing in the garage that I cant post on YT so I and many other video makers use copyright free music here and there to mask that. Sometimes the camera audio fails or the audio is terrible sounding. There's lots of reasons for it really. This is an older video so I dont really remember what I did but over time I have used less but I still use it. Either way thanks for checkin out my channel

      That’s how it always goes even when you have a plan. Sometimes a plan isn’t even possible just a rough idea and you just gotta go 1 step at a time! (Like my truss build)

    Good video. I built my rear bumper for my tj. Built a tires swing also with a recessed spot for my high lift jack. It turned out awesome. Glad I didn't buy one. Like yours mine is way heavier than store bought junk

    I have a custom rear bumper I picked up for my YJ, the previous owner chopped the brackets off…. And I was going to drill and tap holes too in the bumper, great idea about doubling up with more flat stock to get more threaded steel but I’m gonna use 2 bigger pieces instead of 4.
    Problem is I don’t have a rear bumper to copy from so I’m trying to measure it up.

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  2 роки тому +2

      I changed a lot, but yeah on the last bumper I did, I built new brackets for it(you can see it on my Instagram) and I just used a cardboard up to back of jeep and made a template. The inner bolts are really hard to get started without pulling the gas tank but I managed, but you have to drill them perfect if you want to thread straight into bumper

    Yep, that's a good looking bumper man. Good looking jeep. My 92 still has the Dana 35/30 combo and is still fairly stock overall. I'd really like to get better axels like you did, but do a lower center of gravity build as it's gonna be my daily out of necessity. I've kept up with your vids so far and I like the direction you've been going in. You thought about doing some custom flares yet? I been thinking about that myself.

    • @FlawedOffroad
      @FlawedOffroad  2 роки тому

      Thanks dude. Yeah it ended up taller than I wanted but it feels stable so I don’t care. I’ve never really cared much for flares they don’t do a whole lot unless you cover the whole tire and with a 84 inch wide jeep that would look ridiculous. I may do some tube work at some point though

    Good Job. I like it. I need to do something similar for my 91 YJ. But I want the swing out tire carrier. I have always wanted to convert my tail gate to drop down. Pick up style. So the tire changer is no go. Thanks.

      I want to make a drop down as well that has a gas strut or some assist to lift it back up my spare is like 175 lbs lol
