Thank you Paul for the recommendation. I live only a few miles away from Evesham and we took the opportunity to visit the railway today with our two grandchildren. As you say it is an inexpensive day out and the railway was very well run. I look forward to your next film
Hello Paul. Big or small there is something about a train that inspires the "wanderer" in all of us. I really enjoyed that. Wish I was there. Thank you👍
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. This is a lovely little line tucked beside a garden centre and the River Avon. Well worth seeking out if you are ever in the North Cotswolds or in Shakespeare Country. Cheers, Paul
@@westcountrywanderings Hello Paul. I had told you once that my wife and I were planning a trip to the UK in October. We're from Shaftsbury Vt. In the States. Unfortunately we had to cancel our trip. We received a credit so hopefully we'll be able to make it next year. We do love your vlogs so much as they give a wonderful insight into the area where we are planning to visit. Again thank you and I'll keep watching and posting👍 Daryl
Yes, it is a great place! I loved it here. This was my first visit. I didn't realise that there was so much here! Hope you have been having a great weekend. Take care, Paul
Good afternoon Paul! Thanks for your another "heart made" video and introducing this nice heritage railway. I love "little" train as it brought me to my childhood with lots of love around~ Also thank you for taking many different angles of the moving train and your professional editing! See you next time! Oh~ and congrats on reaching 2K subscribers!
What a lovely way for me to spend a Sunday morning- on a steam train. And what a sweety it was. I looked and sounded like everyone had a great time. Great decor those nostalgic stations. Lovely views Paul. Most enjoyable trip. Thank you for sharing. 👌😎🇳🇱🙋♀🇳🇿
Thank you so much Anita! Glad you enjoyed it. It is a fun little line, and it is well located for anyone visiting the Northern part of The Cotswolds as well as Stratford-upon-Avon. Thanks so much! Take care, Paul
Oh wow! That was really lovely and very fascinating to watch. What a gorgeous little train. Beautifully filmed with lovely views. A lovely little railway and a really affordable price.
Thank you Louise! Thanks for a lovely comment. Really appreciated. Yes, it is a lovely little railway, and I thoroughly enjoyed my couple of hours here. Thanks so much, take care, Paul
Very enjoyable, Paul. That little railway is an absolute delight. Thanks for sharing. Looks like the weather is going to behave for a week or two. Time to go exploring! Take care. Ron🙂👍
Thank you so much Ron! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, a fine settled period - I always look forward to September - usually fine, cooler with nice light. I am planning on heading South - no, not New Zealand, but a short trip to Devon. Take care too, Cheers, Paul
Mornin' Paul, what a superbly turned out railway that was, everything really clean and gleaming. Great value for money, what can you buy for £3 these days? A hubub of happy families in the background!! Plenty of places to get some good clips, I do enjoy these split screen clips that you have been doing lately, not sure how you do them ...... maybe you have a gigantic mirror🤔🤔😅😂😂😂😂 Got up early as there was a thunderstorm rumbling on in the background we were going to go beach today ...... these things only happen if you are English!! Still there were some wonderful mammatus clouds to snap .... am I allowed to talk about silver linings!!! Don't worry ....... I'll get my coat😂😂😂 Great start to the weekend thank you.
Thank you! Yes £3! Bargain! Over 30 minute ride too. Lovely scenery as you go around as well. Ah, yes, the split screen is done in editing - you use the 'DVE' function and there is a multi-screen function from within it. Glad you like the effect it, but I must try and use it sparingly. Oh gosh, sorry to hear about the thunderstorm ruining your plans. We have had, as usual, a very wet and very grey August here in the Westcountry, but now we are in September, the weather has turned for the better. Could get up to 30 deg C later this week - bit too hot for me though! Thanks so much! Take care, Paul
@@westcountrywanderings I think you're right about the split screen, it would be tempting to over use it. It worked really well crossing the bridge, might have been another video of yours. No worries about the storm, we need the rain and it cleans the air and gives us a respite from the heat, they'll be plenty more chances to go to the beach, it's less than hour away!!
What a lovely ‘simple’ video! We did visit there many years ago but didn’t ride the train as mistakenly thought it was a small trip+ we didn’t have any children with us so we missed out there! Somebody said it is immaculate and it is. Not just that, the driver and his helper were v.friendly & that makes a difference too. It has a turntable- not many big railways have that luxury but engines travel in reverse instead & that seems incongruous to me. Of course being so much smaller a turntable is easier to install and USE! In fact it is all easier to clean, fill with water & coal etc! I don’t know why but all miniaturised things are very appealing & ‘the price is right’ too. Thanks!
Hello Paul - greetings from a very warm and sunny Nowe Slupno in Poland. What a cracking railway. Looks great fun and obviously well supported. Superb video commentary and camera work Wonderful still photographs too. When you get down to Dorset, take a look at the Avon Valley Light Railway outside Ringwood. Very similar to Evesham Vale but a bit bigger.
Ah, thank you Michael! I must check that out. Sounds great. It has been chilly here, but it has warmed up considerably here this morning. Thanks so much. Take care, Paul
Brilliant, Paul. That little engine does go backwards. And you can see the device which connects to the reverser lever which causes the driving rods to go forwards or back. I’ll try to post a pic on your FB pages; don’t seem to be able to on YT. Then I was curious - sorry, my curiosity is boundless - to know if it was mirrored on the other side of the train. It is! Wonderfully demonstrated as it turns 180° on the turntable. 10:50 Fabulous little railway find. 👍
It is! Free parking and lots of places to eat and drink, and walks by the river. Only downside is that is it a fair way from the centre of Evesham, and its railway station. I really enjoyed my afternoon here. It is a great spot. Thanks Jesse!
Thanks Paul. I did enjoy that. A charming little railway, and steam operated too!
Thank you Michael!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes, it is a place of great charm.
Thanks so much.

Charming portrait of an immaculately maintained narrow guage railway. Thank you.
