The Evesham Vale Light Railway would once again host their Annual Steam Gala over the weekend of the 8th & 9th of July 2023. As well as having their own steam engines in operation, the EVLR brought in two visiting locomotives to bolster the fleet during the weekend's proceedings, which saw a variety of solo & double-headed runs taking place. Both guests were loaned to the EVLR courtesy of the Kirklees Light Railway in West Yorkshire; the first of the visitors was "Fox", a 2-6-2T built by David Curwen in 1987 & based on a Hunslet design built for export to India. Also starring at the event was "Badger", a 0-6-4ST also built by David Curwen in 1991 to a freelance design, loosely based on the Kerr Stuart "Tattoo" Class of contractors' locomotives.
Locomotives featured;
Severn Lamb 0-6-2TT "Dougal"
Exmoor 0-4-0TT "St Egwin"
Exmoor 0-4-2T "Monty"
Hunslet 2-6-2T "Fox" (Visiting from the Kirklees Light Railway)
Kerr Stuart 0-6-4ST "Badger" (Visiting from the Kirklees Light Railway)

Thank you for your kind feedback, greatly appreciated! Aye, I thought I'd include that sequence at the end; I noticed, too, that they seemed to slow to a crawl rather quickly, so perhaps something got onto the line, hence the prolonged whistling...? Great sound nonetheless! Aye, these two were some cracking locos to have on show; Fox in particular I was thrilled to see, it's one of my favourite 15" gauge locos, after all!
