It's basically made out of the Anaconda pipe that you see on your incoming gas meter supply pipe. So it's perfectly safe as long as it's tested for tightness. The yellow is to identify it's used for gas. As well as protecting if from elements of heat and moisture 🙂
So basically my handy man done the hole for the cooker hood in line with the gas pipe but the cooker gas pipe is more on the right side. Could i use something like this to still keep the cooker in line with the gas pipe and cooker hood and use this flexible thing to connect it so its still in the middle?
Hi .. I have been told that a flexible hose is not legal and it has to be metal fittings only? We have an electric oven with a gas hob, and it has been like that for 18 years with no issues. Is this chap saying this correct?
Yes correct no flexible rubber hose is allowed. This is specifically designed to save installers time. I've used about 4 of them so far. At £21 a pop they're quite expensive. I still prefer good old fashioned rigid pipe with a gas isolation valve. That way I have complete piece of mind it's safe. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with this. After all is been approved by the gas council.
