@ComicPOP Ben, yes there is Oxygen in the water, but it is molecularly bonded to the Hydrogen, creating water, which has entirely different properties than either the H or the O. I believe you would have to chemically separate the H and the O in order to use either as fuel.

I feel like the reason Carnage says "I" instead of "we" or "us" is because he's bonded so completely with the symbiote.
Sal, a precisation: i think that Carnage is so red and melty beacuse his symbiot is little and is melted with his blood. In Carnage USA or something, one of those last series they say that he continuously replace the symbiote that he lost with is blood. (:

The idea for Carnage being red & having crazy new powers is that the symbiote bonded directly with Cletus' blood. Cletus' red blood cells are essentially a fuel source for the symbiote's webs/weapons

If Carnage ever came to blows with the Rhino, who do you guys think would win? While Rhino is physically Peter's strongest enemy, Carnage is definitely his most dangerous after Morlun.
To keep Venom and Carnage even, Venom is not nearly as weak to fire and sonics as he was before while Carnage is still very weak to fire.

I think it makes sense that carnage would still be susceptible to sonics and fire. Natural resistance through mutation is something that takes several generations to build up...it does happen faster in asexual reproduction where genetic mutation would be more common because there is not another set of genes to cover the flawed ones, but still, it would take about a dozen or so symbiotes before one likely had those advantages, and it would still need to be advantageous to survival before it would be a successful gene and be passed on.
I mean, we're susceptible to fire, even though we've been around it forever.
I'm glad they went with Eddie Brock. The female Venom's motivation doesn't make any sense when you really think about it.
bigevil1001 I think the conceit was that the symbiote was supposed to be (kind of still is) an homage to an old proverb about how anger, hate, guilt, and similar emotions are like poison. Sadly, I can't remember what the original proverb is called. The symbiote would simply attach itself to a host experiencing an intense onslaught of negative emotion, or it would use such emotions to get into the minds of those it comes into contact with.
Thematically, it works. In the long run, it could have been better, especially since Eddie Brock's original motivation was fairly weak.

bigevil1001 When did I ever state that Eddie Brock's motivations were weaker than the motivations of the original concept character? All I stated was that the original concept itself was interesting and that, had the editors at Marvel at the time gone with it, it could've worked. The only other thing I mentioned was that Eddie's motivations weren't exactly better/stronger, which is true.

The only good Carnage there ever was is the Ultimate version where its a parasitic life form created in the lab from Peter Parker's blood and remnants of the Venom suit which was a science experiment that never got funded (and for good reason as it turned out).
