SOLD 9/2024. If you enjoyed this video please like and subscribe. 👍😁 Thanks for your support.
I think it's wonderful to see that there are still quite a few people who have revived their love for old boats. If these boats could talk, they would thank you for allowing them to perform on lakes and at sea again.
Isn’t it amazing 🐙🤓thanks for the comments though
Your video wound up in my feed. Retired Navy here and I remember both the Willard and Uniflite Navy boats. That's a great project for someone.
Thanks for the comment 😂👍
heck yeah! as a W32 owner, I know somebody is going to get a great deal on this!
Welcome Aboard👍😁 Be sure to subscribe and spread the word
🤘😎🤘
Just came into my feed, this is the type of project and price range I need. Best part of the old sails is they are templates for new sails, mark your dimensions and upgrades and order. Newer rigging(fresh water if salt it would be time to inspect well or just change). Have never seen this self steering setup,if you could do a more in depth examination I would absolutely watch. Thank You , stay salty Semper Fi
I do a variety of projects in the Boat Werks. Be sure to watch all the episodes to get up to speed. 👍😁Thanks for the comments
I like that tiler, and that compass. I still look forward to getting my 6pack license with sailing endorsement as my ultimate goal.
Thanks for the comment Dan 👍😁
Always wanted to re-do a sailboat but that time has passed for me. After restoring so many classic glass boats I would have been all about this boat.
👍😁
Thanks for the video Joe! I was beginning to experience withdrawal pains. Lol.
Just for you Tom 👍😁
Heck yea , thats the boat project i need. on the day i retire. down the locks to the sea and off to cruise the world
I love it! Live the dream 😁👍
Man, when you retire, it will be too late !
Do it now !
Retire and go! 👍😁
I also have a willard 1976 8 ton world cruiser. Mine is in Florida. Lots of work to do but it is a strong tough boat. Only complaint os the engine location, however this location is what allows the cabin to be so large. Great video. Thanks!
Thanks for the comment 👍😁 I agree with your assessment. I just live the layout. Max space in a 30ft blue water boat
Not fast, but indestructable. Someone got a great boat.
👍😁
Hoping you buy this one, Joe What a series it's restoration
would make.
This boat sold this week. New owners have a great adventure planned 👍👍
Strong longkeeler made in 1 piece, no bolt on keel. I like it.
Pretty sure there’s keel bolts, that’s why I filmed them 😂
@@johan8724 that is, not an iron bolt on keel like some columbias or benes
👍
If its got keel bolts, its a bolt on keel
Have a good trip🥸
I agree that is a lot of boat for the money if you are looking to DIY. When you get done you're going to have a real head turner.
Thank you 😊 for the comment
I don't think a boat like this is ever "done" 🤣
🤓
There's a very similar boat at my local marina that I've been eyeing for the last few years, now l'lI have a better idea what I'm looking at when I see it.👍
😁👍 welcome aboard Keith. Be sure to subscribe and spread the word about MotorCity Boat Werks
I like them "Old and Dirty" :)
They don’t get any better than this Dave😁 I still dream about this boat and the adventures possible
Pressure wash special, but transmission leak can mean a lot of things.
😁
Thanks for the videos
I enjoyed it
Watching from the island of st Lucia
👍😁
Thankyou 😊
👍😁
Parts for that perkins are available through most farm and tractor supplies world wide as well as truck and truck mounted refrigeration units
Exactly 😁
If I could get this boat for $3500 I would sail her home to Nova Scotia, restore her and give her the blue water she deserves. I’d post every minute online too.
Good luck 👍
😂In Cape Breton thinking same thing.
Boat is sold
I like it. I'll never own it because my wife doesn't like water, but man, what a boat!
😁
Lose the wife. Get the boat.
😎
Hopefully she will meet someone as wonderful as you.
👍
Nice boat, i am not a sail boat guy , but if i was i would be interested , i would think it should sell fast for the price
Thanks for your comment Robert😁
That boat is a steal. So much potential and if you are doing things yourself it is affordable. But remember , there is nothing like cheap sailing. Look at costs of insurance, marina and mooring fees . Sail and rigging replacement . Things that you cannot do yourself costs money . . . . But for what i see i am just positive. Safe sailing.
Thanks for the comment 😁
Das Boot ist ein Schnäppchen schon der Segel her. 🌟
👍
I have one of the 30 Willards, in much better shape, and I Love it
👍😁
Great motor
😎
Hi, thanks for highlighting this boat.
When you say that this engine can be rebuilt, those words should be taken to heart.
Most mechanics or boatyard owners will just say " Let's just drop a yanmar in there and call it a day".
Whoa. No. First of all that's 10x the engine that any replacement would be, and not just because it's big for the boat. Adapting that engine room/ beds/ shaft to another engine would Not Be Cheap.
Enough said about that.
Next, any surveyor would tell you that the only way to know if keelbolts need replacing is to do it. You could xray them but why waste money. I cannot think of Any other boat that i would make such a blatently blanket statement about, but by all means replace these. To a boatbuilder, this is not daunting, its just another job. Please trust me on this one.
Anyway, since standard winch handles are All 10" long (or 8"), that makes the sink about 9" deep.
Thank you.
Marty! Great to hear from you. 😁But don’t be a Salty Dawg🐙 Enjoy the spirit of the channel and spend your time hunting and pecking on those other fake boat restoration channels. 😎
My dream
👍😁
We have friends in CA who have a 72 foot motor yacht a Willard built as a civilian version of a military hull . Triple systems for redundancy on every thing , every thing heavy military grade. Spent a week on it cruise to Catalina island. Solid built is an understatement. So at 5 k it’s a steal . When redone there is no modern yacht safer for world travel . Let’s say you have to put 25,000 into it to bring it back to life with your own work and a little bit of professional help so for 30 grand you have a vessel that can go anywhere safely. Get the life raft serviced. And upgrade all the safety gear get AIS radio. And personal. EPIRB s and one for the boat with a hydrostatic release. Get rid of all the old electronics put in a good auto pilot. Use the old one as a back up. Redundancy redundancy that’s what saves you.
Thanks for the comments 👍😁
Dang, it would probably cost more than the cost of the boat to be shipped to Pennsylvania. Very close to what I am looking for though. Best of luck to whomever gets her. The potential is there for a great off shore cruiser.
👍😁
i think you can take it through the erie canal system good luck
🤓
We just shipped a boat out from Florida. Trucking boats is amazingly cheap.
😁
That's a great little sea boat, it's almost unheard of to get a Crealock design at that price, just the sails and liferaft cost way more than 5K, Bargain of a lifetime for someone with knowhow and a bit of time, put 20 K into that and you'll have a premium blue water boat for a song
This is my thinking also😁 thanks for the comment
I dont understand why are there keel bolts? Does that mean the keel is not encapsulated. I thought all long keel sailboats have no keel bolts
Thanks for the comment 😁Lots of info on the internet to read up on. www.practical-sailor.com/blog/keel-bolt-inspection-and-repair
Cool video. When did you go through TBS? I was Alpha 1-85.
No that old! 😁 in the early 90s 🫡
Great Info video, enjoyed that, I thought it was wood though! lol
I know! That’s why I had to explains he “faux carvel” hull. It’s really something Wood is good but fiberglass is forgiving 👍😁
I've got a fantasia 35
24k lbs
Ultra heavyweight yeah yeah yeah 👍
Good for you 😁 Thanks for the comment
If you have the brochure those photos were taken by Bruce Bingham. When I was in high school, he "hired" us to sail the first one on a winter day when it was absolutely howling, so he could get those photos. That's my bf Sally, Naval Architect Paul Kotzebue and myself in those pics. Life was so simple then.
Later I apprenticed for a Swiss naval architect who raved endlessly about how cool the Fantasia's folding cockpit step/coaming was!
😁👍
If I was in the same Continent I may have had to do some explaining to do to my wife lovely boat
😂👍
Wow!
😁
tempting....I'm just in Ohio.
So close 👍😁
Great video. It’s a solid boat, but I’m guessing it’s slow: 4 to 6 knots tops?-the again, what’s the hurry?
Thanks Joe. In a Force 10 gale I bet it goes like a rocket ship ⛵️ 😁
In anything over 12knots apparent it reaches hull speed readily and Nothing stops her. Crealock knew that those Full sections and minimal "rocker" guaranteed speed and COMFORT, while minimizing any tendency to pitch excessively.
🤓
Beautiful boat. I say dump the PhD program and focus on the boat.
😎
Ok sign me up!! I want that boat!
Got to go for it 👍😁
Let me know if still 4sail I'm interested
This boat is SOLD
I'm going to buy a boat.
I know, how many x have you heard that before? lol but seriously. A small sail boat around 30 ft ? A Cornish crabber, a Hanse 301, an oceanis clipper, a Catalina 26 ( or was it 28 ) ? It's overwhelming... What to do?
Keep looking and choose wisely 👍👍
I HAVE A 8 TON FULL KEEL FRASER OFFSHORE FLUSHDECK SLOOP,,, 1972,,,,1 OF 36 EVER MADE 30 FOOTER,, FRASER MADE LOTS OF 41,,AND 51, FOOTERS,,,BUT NOT SO MANY THIRTYS
Why are you yelling? Lower caps please 😂 thanks for the comment
I think the new owner got a bargain. With some minor work it might be a blue water boat!
👍😁
Perkin engines are fun to work on, i perfer it over a paccar engine on a tractor trailer 😂
Welcome Dan😁 thanks for the comment. Be sure to subscribe and spread the word
@@motorcityboatwerks will do
😁👍
I really wanna buy this boat… I want a Crealock
Thanks for the comment 👍😁
The lead in the keel is worth more than $5000.00.
You would think so🤓
I'm looking for something I can take her away for maybe two or three years at a reasonable for Boatyard rental
Thanks for the comment
🇿🇦🇬🇧 I willing be sailing smaller sail boat to Britain. Unfaiirly deported. Grandparents from Britain. 9000 miles . Take fishing rod . 2024 .
Safe travels and be sure to subscribe and give a thumbs up 👍 😁
Oh Joe! I lost the bet! I said you'd buy that boat! 🤣
I’m going to tell you 😂 I have been trying to convince my wife for a week that this boat is a great investment. 😎 I already have 3! She’s under struck orders to deny all funding requests 💰 until I sell off my inventory
3? You don't even have a problem yet!@@motorcityboatwerks
😁
30ft, with 5ft bowsprit, means youll pay for 35 ft in the marina
Yes If you go to one of those marinas that charges you for the bowsprit and swim platform. 🥸 Have a good trip 🐙😂🤣
@@motorcityboatwerks They all do in europe
And yet the world is more than Europe😂🤣
Be sure and get a qualified survey and, sail the boat before you buy it!! I can swim faster than it sails!!! It cannot point well !!! Even a log can drift down wind!!!
🐙 the boat is already sold. 😂🤣 You missed out 👎 Be sure to like and subscribe 😎
Anyone taking their wife and kids out in this ?
Did you watch the video? 🐙Obviously owner and wife cruised extensively. 🥸
My kind of channel. 🫡🇬🇧❤️
Welcome Aboard Leon 👍😁
