I love the way Richard plays Roger. I just hope the writers give Roger the arc he deserves from the books. Roger brings a whole hell of a lot to the table, and Jamie quite admires him for his own qualities in the books. So far, they have diverged significantly from scenarios that highlight Roger's great strengths. I will trust that they will get around to that, but I am concerned. Roger was in no way a Jamie wanna be. He is a man in his own right, very different, and equally strong.
As has been said in the comments below...I think Rik brings depth to Outlander..I think so anyway. It is a challenge for all in this experience...He is like a catalyst to puncture a bubble of Hollywood type glorification of main characters...(in the character of RIK or Roger) ...everyman..is not glitter and gold but human tears, and sneezes even in a main male character and even more challenging to portray in his love life/
Can't have Sam Catrina Jack or Brianna die there the show they have to be there till the end and Jamie and Claire should die together when the time comes and Brianna inherit lollybrooke with Jack and the kids with Mom and Dad keeping an eye on them....
