Yvonne is such a good interviewer - doesn't ask stupid questions.
Sam’s looks actually take my breath away..he is beautiful..and to top it off he intelligent, talented and genuinely a nice guy..he deserves more praise than he gets. I really hope he gets more substantial roles in movies after Outlander.
Between his beauty, his voice, his intellect and personality, he is the MOST appealing man! I could listen to and watch him for hours, and I do that quite frequently.

Lou That’s very mild compared to what he does in the series. He said in another interview somewhere that he’d lived in London a lot and so lost much of the Scottish accent. He can sure bring it back, though!

Yvonne is such a wonderful interviewer .But my favorite things about her interviewing him are, she listens, she asks him great question and lets him talk without interrupting!
I like that Sam and Cait had separate interviews. In joint interviews he always lets Cait speak first, and he either doesn’t answer or just agrees with Cait. It’s nice to hear his thoughts on the show.

YES! This is the first comment I've seen that matches what I think. I love their chemistry but they can be overly goofy sometimes, so we can't get these deep, thoughtful responses; and Cait does dominate the interviews.
I’ve been watching every Sam Heughan interview I can find after binging Outlander Seasons 1-4, twice in the last 2 weeks and, I have to say, this was the best interview I’ve seen BY FAR! Yvonne did an amazing job!!
There are some really great interviews actually...that Ive got to see some anyway, particularly during lockdown...with the Peakers, the men in Kilts etc..I have done the same

I, for one, love this individual interview, otherwise he and Caitriona get lost in their jokes and surface conversations... here we get more insight into Sam and his process. I think Sam is a fantastic actor and human, and am so surprised he didn't get more award nominations.
Agreed with you I watch all the series so far, Poldark, succession, etc, but this is just a superb serie, & yes Sam should win awards for his work, it was so real at almost the end of series 4. I was orwerwelmed with anxiety, I thaught how ridiculous . I usually never watch series ??? you have to much time waisted in between, but this time I was told how good it was , I was able to watch all the Episodes one after the others, & well at the end it just got to me , some of the parts become hard to watch, like jamie being whipped & later raped, was just agonising. it was so humiliating, I must admit english in war, all over time ares very cruels, I seen what they did to the Autralians Aboriginals peoples while Colonising , the Americans Indiens, the scotts & manies others, they can be ruthless. Sorry

I would suspect a bit of a backlash for being "King of Men." Really excellent portrayal. The way he acts with his eyes is something else.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing about her being calm! Usually an interviewer is either ill-prepared (has never seen the show, doesn't care, etc.) or they're fan-girling and giggly because they're so nervous. And in both cases they tend to ask the same clichéd questions. I always like it when this girl does the interviews!

There must be so many points where the actors just crave an interview like this, where their work is seriously considered. I love watching Sam and Catiroina in interviews, but so many of them are silly. They are always gracious, I don't know how they manage. This was terrific, thank you both.
I agree that he has won the genetic lottery. He has it all. I love how he plays Jamie in the show, and I love the connection he makes with Claire. Very impressive. They are both absolutely lovely.
This young woman could teach other interviewers a thing or two...she asked very informed questions and she listens. I agree with many of the comments about his co-star...I don't watch any interviews with her because she dominates every question and he's such a gentleman that he lets her have the floor...although he would have to wrestle her to the ground to get it back...which he wouldn't do. He's a master at using his facial expressions to get his message across and the only other actor that does that, in the cast, is David Barry....which he pointed out as his favorite also. When he offered his body to lord John in return for being a father to Willie...it was priceless.
I have a crush on Jamie/Sam, love how sensitive he is, love his voice too.

Yes. Some people need a bit of time to compose their answers thoughtfully. A good interviewer needs to be a good listener.

yes I agree most of the time they just talk about the sex scenes and his acting is so much more just like the other actors and actresses. The interviewer did an amazing job!!!

One of my favourite interviews with Sam, this interviewer has a soft and interested approach which is so appreciated. And although I really love Caitriona, as a few people have mentioned, she tends to answer all the questions, Sam is a big boy is quite capable of holding a conversation without help, so this was nice. :)

Aside from Sam Heughan's good looks, there is gentility that emanates from this man's demeanor which is rare in today's actors. I believe this is what makes him very unique in today's actors, he does not possess the cockiness that many actors possess after they reach a pinnacle of success. Truly this is the most attractive trait this person emanates during interviews and it comes across on screen. Always a pleasure to listen to and watch. A rare soul. I am sure he will be blessed with much success in his life and it is deserved.

I agree. His parents did a splendid job of raising him. No one traumatized him, and the Steiner school is excellent. Good parenting and excellent schools are a recipe for success in growing up.

I have always kind of beeing interested in his looks, but I was surprised with this interview, he's so calm and interesting
I know that this is an older interview but it the best one that I have seen with Sam to date! Great job Yvonne Villarreal for conducting an interview with substance. While the Love scenes are ohhh so good it is so nice to hear Sam speak about other aspects of portraying Jamie.Loved this interview!

Binge watched Outlander, last week. Never wanted to watch it, to be honest. Damn you...DAMN YOUUUU....Outlander!! I told myself I would never get sucked into another series but it hooked me with the great actors and emotional investment that the actors had with each other. [bangs my head softly against the table...sniffle]...now I have to wait for season 5.
Happy to see I'm not the only one feeling like this after 2 weeks of binge-watching Outlander 😂😱 The only way to cope with the post TV-show sadness that will last until february is to start reading the books!

He's gorgeous, intelligent, and brilliant actor. You can see it in the way he processes his character, scenes and true connection to who Jamie is. He just melts me. I will say he is riding that fame wave hard! He seems less than humble these days. Not in an obnoxious way, just in an obvious way. I think he's gonna be one of the great ones! You are so right. Her behavior is total anoying me. Thats why I love interviews with Sam alone. He has so much to say and should have the chance to do it.

I don't necessarily agree about the 'overly confident' remark (I actually think she knows that he is the much 'favored' personality and is a bit jealous of him) but couldn't agree more with everything else. She's very full of herself and IMO is just another pretty face and wouldn't be noticeable at all if not playing against Sam.

I think he’s a gentleman and always defers to Caitriona when they’re together. I never feel like she’s being aggressive in answering all the questions.

There's so much work and efforts that goes into Outlander, the acting is beyond outstanding---- especially Jaime and Claire is one of the best couples I've ever seen!!! Everything about Outlander is great--- I hope the show is on for a very long time. P.S-- I absolutely love Scotland and hope I can travel there one day---it's my dream!!

Best interview of outlander. The interviewer is so great and fluid.
Sam mentions Jamie is dying and "something about stars"... I think that's when he finds Claire in 1945..the ghost. Diana has said that Jamie's ghost is about 25. He had promised her he would find her. She urged Jamie to find her in a voice over. The flowers that Claire picks at the stones are forget-me-nots. Just my ramblings. God Sam is such a beautiful man.

What a wonderful interview! He has it all, doesn't he? God, whomever he ends up with is going to be one blessed woman. I do think he was pulling everyone's leg when he talked about the "stare."
He and Caitriona have both said that they are fully into their scenes, so much so that they are very real to them in the moment. They are deeply committed to portraying their characters as honestly as possible and let them take over. Jamie and Claire DO really love each other in the persons of Sam and Caitriona.
I can’t concentrate because of how gorgeous this man is. I’m happy it hasn’t made him egotistical as it often does for others. He’s clearly so kind hearted and humble and hard working and down to earth. What a catch! Congrats future wife!

I read about the battle of Culloden. A lot of Scots lost their lives (over 5,000) and English only lost a little bit over two hundred soldiers. Some history is just so sad to read. I am thankful for series which opened a lot of historical stories of Scotland, England and America.
