Thanks for the video. I haven't watched it all yet, have to go out, but I just saw the Deep Robotics robot dog clip and wanted to comment. I read an article about the US Marine Corps using a robot dog they bought on Amazon. It is made by a Chinese company (which I'm sure is being scrutinized) and for some reason, they were calling it their robotic goat. It costs more than this Deep Robotics version, too, maybe they should be contacting the military branches to see what the interest is.
I can see the automated police officer of the future. "I have given you the directions you asked for. Now please answer a few questions in our user survey, which will only take about half an hour."
Although i like robotics and it's development, i find it scary as well. Looking at the rate these developments are going, humans are going to be obsolete in a lot of areas in a short time. I don't know if this is going in the right direction. And mind you that developments are way beyond what they show us.
I’m not happy or impressed!! I want a robot to clean the house for me where is it!! We were told when we grow up the future for us would be robots to do everyday things like clean your house, cook your meals and take out the garbage!! A robot dog is the best you can do! Get back to work!!
I am so sick of these robo-dogs. Since Boston Dynamics introduced them in 2010, we've had what? 3-4 use cases? It's such a flop and everyone is jumping on it. The added value of such a robot for normal humans is 0. That might change if they can really do tasks. But usually having these guys balance on legs is a waste of energy when you think of something like a house robot or something for transportation. Unless you have a lot of big rocks in your house.
I could see a use case in certain rescue situations where it would be too hazardous for dogs (mine shaft etc). But they seem too concerned with assembly line parkour

Is it just me or did anyone else notice a couple of things highlighted in this video? Things like A) there are zero women working on these items--based on the clips shown--B) there are NO White Men controlled companies/products? Let's explore that for a moment. It was the US and the USSR--White Male ruled nations at the time--who had the space race. These two societies were the leading edge of the scientific frontier right up until around 1980s. After women took control of the Western World, space travel ended. Nasa became nothing more than a memory of what it used to be. It took them a bit, but ultimately females in the West dragged down the USSR and it was destroyed. After the 1980s American schools lost their spot at the top of the world wide education results scale. Now, let's look at Dubai. Women have no voice in society there. Dubai was the one highlighted these days as pushing the scientific frontier. One of the highlighted thing here is just how many female replacement robots are being developed. In other places like Japan--again little to no female input in society--we see the development of artificial wombs--in other words, the NERD world of science is working hard to replace women so that men no longer need them for anything.
IMO shutting down free will in the presence of robots is a matter of choice. We can rise to the occasion or else we can become complacent because of it. I feel like it is a sign of weakness to contemplate letting AI shut us down.
