i've taken off shift knobs from 2 cars at the junkyard as my car didn't come with one. i'm trying to figure out how to install either of them. i may try taking off that plastic piece to see if that's my answer.
kush gottheju1ce2k if it's an automatic then you need an automatic shifter if you have a manual transmission you can basically use any shifter out there in the market.
It's available at lots of smaller businesses or the big guys like Amazon. Search AUTOBK1 for the black version or once they're click the box to select silver.
Go to a craft or home improvement store and get a variety pack of the little rubber feet like you would put on a porcelain figurine. About the size of an LR44 watch battery. That will cushion the metal between the button and the factory shaft. I used heat-shrink tubing over the shaft to give the set screws some bite. Available at Home Depot, Harbor Freight or (ugh) Radio Shack. Set screws available at Home Depot if you are missing them. Let me know if you need more help. It's no problem.
First off, nice video! A great company Redline makes top quality leather shifter boot covers for automatics! Google Redline shifter boots and you'll be happy! I ordered the Napa leather boot cover for my car and it is top notch! Fast turn around and nice people to work with! Great prices for a custom REAL LEATHER accessory with your choice of color and stitching!
Scott Brixey Hi Scott. If you use the search term "-automatic" being sure to use the minus sign, you will find some excellent instructional videos regarding manual shift knob installation. The automatic works better for me as I like to juggle miniature flaming chainsaws while driving as a stress reliever.
Amazing videos shows step by step 💯
Primer video que veo y que explica bien como se hace y da una solución al problema del diámetro de los tubitos que no encajan
I bought this same aftermarket momo billet shift knob for my Nissan Infinity G-35 2004 today, thanks 👍😊

What is the plastic piece called? I can’t make my knob fit with out it and I’ve been driving around with just that metal tip lol

It has. Feels solid years later.

Where did you get the rubber insert and what size? The momo knob I ordered didn't come with one.

Ideal for crack pipe usage 😂😂😂
is there a way that you can remove the silver panel ?
Around the shifter? Yes. You can replace it with the leather shift boot from the manual trans model.
