This is a bit awkward... I shared this survey around saying it was the Mario RPG survey, but it's actually the one focusing on Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door... Either way, I filled it out, it was REALLY hard for me to pick just 5 reasons for why I'm interested in the Nintendo Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, though, too many to pick only 5.
The studio developing the M&L series shut down a few years ago, sadly. Since they were the only studio to ever had made the M&L series, I doubt Nintendo is looking into making a sequel without them. It being completely absent makes me think it's officially over, sadly. Maybe Nintendo is seeing this as a chance to have just one ongoing Mario RPG series.
Just got back from the survey. I answered everything that I like about it and hopefully they get the feedback and take it into account for future titles
Dope reference, but I'd advise against doing multiple surveys. If nintendo catches wind, they'll just throw it out, and we waste an opportunity to have our opinions listened to.
The thing about this is, this may be tied to a certain email that this was sent to, so this may be just overwriting the survey of whoever this was sent to. Still, it's worth a shot and didn't stop me for filling it out.
@@Nightcaat Interesting observation! The other thing I'm primarily worried about is that since this survey was never meant to be fully public, eventually. Nintendo will notice that survey's out in the open and considers the whole thing as "ballot stuffing" and throw it out, since they were probably expecting this to have a more unbiased approach rather than PM fans getting ahold of it and going wild with it.
@SuperMarioT Thanks for letting us know about this Paper Mario Survey. I did already fill out this survey and as a Fan of those Paper Mario Games it’s good to know that Nintendo is trying to reach the fans of this series to see whether or not where this series goes on forward from here and I hope that the future of this Series sticks to the TTYD Style of gameplay moving forward. Also SuperMarioT where did you find out about this survey at anyways though? I really hope that this survey is 100% Legit and not a fraud though.
Please people, don't be dumb and fill out the survey multiple times. It's now been shut down, and people doing mass-responses could have contributed to it, and that also risks having the entire thing thrown out. I just got home from work and came home to this, and now I can't fill it out, which could be because people mass-responding ruined it for everyone.
I don’t think selecting other is a good approach - Nintendo will be doing mass analytics on these. Best to just select concrete options as to why we like TTYD.

Hi, Bri'ish person here, I took both the survey I got in my email and the one you linked, and they are very different; the survey I got from emails was more about Mario RPGs in general, including Mario and Luigi and had some wild stuff like asking you to rate each Mario RPG up to five stars, whereas this one is exclusively about TTYD. Aw man! I missed it! I am so salty! Although, on the other hand, it probably makes the most sense for them to keep this up briefly like they did--if it's up too long, there could be too much bias on there, it's better for each person to do it once, and, probably most importantly, I'm sure they're already getting the idea that whatever responses they're getting on this are already the message they've gotten from fans. So, hopefully they actually listen and start putting this series in a better direction. Hopefully things work out so my missing it doesn't matter in the end. I trust that anyone who does this will leave a respectful, honest review that reflects what the majority of Paper Mario fans want. That's what I would've done had I gotten to participate.
The character designs on the oldest 3 titles (64, ttyd and wii) had the most unique character designs out of the entire franchise, and they dumbed it down to the generic designs ever since sticker stars. I really miss seeing unique koopa characters like Koops, Kooper, Kolorado, Parakarry, etc etc In the new ones?? JUST koopas. Only koopas. Though, this makes me wonder if Nintendo will accept that given the fact that this is the only public link we can enter.
Thanks a lot for sharing SMT! Here’s what i wrote down in case anyone wants to use for a reference if they need help putting down what they want to say. Put in your own words or add what you think should include. (It is long) Me: Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a very important game to me and to the future of Mario games. Specifically in the Paper Mario series direction and basis of what a Mario game should have. This game is very special to me because it’s the most story driven Mario game unlike the main Mario games which is highly depth for Mario and the world and unique characters in the Super Mario universe. I think TTYD offers amazing different things that get it right. It’s incredibly too good for it’s time when it released in 2004. I call TTYD a masterpiece because every aspect is amazing to me: the gameplay, the story, the visuals, the narrative, and the music. I believe these ambition-breaking qualities have not simultaneously been repeated since 20 years of this release. It’s a game that has been long asked for to repeat whether remastering it or making a sequel like TTYD. I strongly believe Paper Mario was at its best with TTYD. I ask from the bottom of my heart as a life-long Mario fan, please bring Paper Mario back to the TTYD formula going forward for future Paper Mario games and allow the rules of creativity freedom go beyond the boundaries we know of the familiar Super Mario world. As much I love the established concepts. Taking Mario onto new worlds, enemies, and characters to different adventures is what brings the best out of him because Mario is an all-around character that works in so many different settings. The same way Nintendo allowed new experiences and original new settings with new creations in Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Super Mario RPG, Paper Mario 64, Super Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi RPG series. I find Paper Mario TTYD to be the best portray of Mario ever, even when compared to the main line Mario games. Mario is a hero, and it adds a lot of value to his personality when the stakes are higher than the usual Bowser schemes and kidnapping peach. It blows me away when Bowser isn’t the main villain and something far more dangerous is threatening the world from peace leaving Mario the fate of resort to put evil down. Of course through various worlds, along the way making new friends, witnessing other character’s stories and influencing or inspiring them to do good things also. Mario is a symbol of hope, bravery, happiness, and good spirited. The terms listed are under the umbrella of making Mario a hero. This portray of Mario in the TTYD is something I hope carries on to the mainline Mario games so that they include more story driven plot behind the fun gameplay adding more personality and emotions to the characters. Gameplay comes first always. Adding a good story, music, visuals, and narrative are like giving a yummy cake more layers of goodness with cherries on top. Now that cake becomes delicious and unforgettable with nearly no room for feedback. Develop the best you can do!. I’ve seen you do it over and over for decades. I believe in you Nintendo.
Alright, I think I gave answers at the beginning that will make Nintendo want to listen to the answers I gave at the end. Man, there’s too many questions on that survey that secretly boil down to “should we care about your opinion or not?”
I filled it out, I want Paper Mario to go back to it's RPG roots, SS/CS/OK had almost no RPG elements, Unique Characters were RARE as hell, and it just felt not very immersive with the over-saturation of paper jokes. (Yes i know 64/TTYD/SPM had paper jokes but they were more sparingly as the main drive was the world and it's characters)
As someone who likes Paper Mario and TTYD, I could care less about this survey. I like what the modern games has on offer so whatever happens with this survey won't spoil my fun at all.
I don't mind Nintendo being creative when it comes to Paper Mario, but their execution is straight up bad. Sticker Star could have worked if it was a Rogue Like game, it's just better to go back to what works for the main series. The one thing you can't deny is that Nintendo can put out some enjoyable soundtracks.
Abusing the system will probably backfire. they WILL notice it. If they think the results aren't legit, they might toss it out of the window. But anyways, I just filled it out. Selected all of the TTYD characteres. Vivien first, of course, but damn, alle the designs are so cool.
My only hope is that this survey isn't going to make toxicity rise as some might vote in support of some of the modern games changes just because that's their opinion (like me), because the last thing I need is more toxicity in this fanbase. Still, good video.
True. It’s important to be as civil and respectful as possible on this matter. As much as passionate as we can get we have to speak corporate about it. Name calling or criticizing harshly on their previous decisions won’t send a nice tone or likely they won’t want to read that.
Hopefully the remake and survey will convince Nintendo to return Paper Mario back to its roots. This is coming from a person who hasn't played the games.
Guys, when they ask the question "are you currently playing games on these platforms?" DO NOT TICK "SMARTPHONE / TABLET" IF YOU DON'T LIKE MOBILE GAMES WITH MICROTRANSACTIONS. Even if you're addicted to whatever clicker game and you play it everyday! Unless you want nintendo to pump out mobile games full of microtransactions and gacha mechanics...
Between Qualtrics is a third party for Nintendo t.co/aLrC54HB8F & some renders in it are new like Ms Mowz & Rawk Hawk, I’m starting to believe more it’s legit
I just want Paper Mario to stay how it is instead of going back to the old formula. Origami King's great, better than TTYD anyways, so there's no need to fix what ain't broke
You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. Origami King, along with Sticker Star and Colour Splash, is literally the result of trying to fix what wasn't broken, that being 64 and TTYD. Hope you and all the other modern Paper Mario apologists enjoy the shoe being on the other foot when this remake's success convinces Nintendo to return this series to its roots. That way, you'll know what it feels like to have a series you love taken from you.
@@PSIkid TTYD wasn't bad nor broken sure, and I'll admit that Sticker Star and Colour Splash was worse, but Origami King perfected/nearly perfected the current formula and is easily the better game. I just hope it stays this way both because I like what's currently going on, and because ya'll are nostalgia blind and can't seem to accept there's more than one way to make a Paper Mario game.
@@PSIkid Idk if my last comment got removed but I can't see it, I was going to edit it since it was kinda mean but let me try again. I heavily preferred Origami King over TTYD, it seems better than it in almost every way except for the lack of unique looking characters. Admittedly the rule to abandon unique looking characters was a dumb one, but I think that limitation challenged the creators to make a more interesting product to make up for that. If they're able to make something like/better than Origami King but with unique characters, then I say go for it. But right now, I think the limitations are doing more good than harm, even if we did have to suffer through Sticker Star & Colour Splash. Before this comment gets weeded out like the last one, please, please try to accept there's other ways to make a Paper Mario other than how TTYD did it. It's a great game, I can't wait to get the remake, but I still had way more fun with Origami King than I did with my initial playthrough of TTYD
@@hunterkeps9058 I played TTYD for the first time in 2020, so the argument about me being nostalgia blind doesn't work. I know I probably can't change your mind on Origami King, but I will say that having to put up with two bad games just to receive a marginally better follow-up is _not_ the cause for celebration that you think it is. That's called having low standards, especially when you know how much better these games can be. Speaking of standards, I DO realise that there is more than one way to make a Paper Mario game while ALSO still making it good. Case in point: Super Paper Mario, a game I also adore because it still retained a lot of what made the older games special i.e. story, characters, writing, etc. Criticise Super's simplistic gameplay all you want, but at the very least it isn't tedious or pointless to engage with like the combat in the later games. There's still experience points and a levelling system, and fighting enemies is quick and painless for the most part. Disregarding all of that though, a series should never abandon its core identity to appeal to an entirely different audience in the first place. Rather, it should establish a formula that works from the start, and stick with it by building upon and refining it in subsequent instalments, like how TTYD bullt off of PM64. If you're going to completely change the gameplay mechanics, writing, storytelling, presentation and world design to something entirely removed from what came before, you're better off just making a new IP instead. That's exactly what the newer Paper Mario games should have been, rather than sullying the name of a once great series with their needless experimentation and sterilisation. I hope you understand. Thank you and have a good day/night.

Filled mine out
Did my part glad this video showed in my reccomended
I actually never played it legit, but i am so interested in having on a switch. Filled the survey, i hope it works.
thank you for sharing the survey. i just completed it
Says the survey is down for me
I filled it out, I want Paper Mario to go back to it's RPG roots, SS/CS/OK had almost no RPG elements, Unique Characters were RARE as hell, and it just felt not very immersive with the over-saturation of paper jokes. (Yes i know 64/TTYD/SPM had paper jokes but they were more sparingly as the main drive was the world and it's characters)
"Fill out this survey, NOW!"
Me, a sticker star fan: 😏
As someone who likes Paper Mario and TTYD, I could care less about this survey. I like what the modern games has on offer so whatever happens with this survey won't spoil my fun at all.
your fandom is valid. Just don't be incendiary.
@@Shmiddler
What is the purpose of your comment? As if being "valid" means anything.
Edit: Sorry for the hostility, I misread your post.
I really liked Origami King. Kinda hoping the Paper Mario games stay the way they are instead of changing
I was joking btw
I already filled it out, I’m so hyped to finally play this!/
SOMEONE SEND THIS TO ARLO!!!
Will do! Hopefully he will understand about Miyamoto not hating stories!
Let's not be a repeat of Nintendo Survey's past... You guys know what I'm getting at, right?
Abusing the system will probably backfire. they WILL notice it. If they think the results aren't legit, they might toss it out of the window.
But anyways, I just filled it out. Selected all of the TTYD characteres. Vivien first, of course, but damn, alle the designs are so cool.
Bro waited his whole life for this moment
the survey is not active anymore
Dang I missed it I wanted to give them some actually accurate answers of a fan of the series who played the games
Name calling or criticizing harshly on their previous decisions won’t send a nice tone or likely they won’t want to read that.
sadly ttyd fans are there. the toxicity is inevitable
One more vote for the algorithm!
Weird, the survey is down for me.
Hopefully the remake and survey will convince Nintendo to return Paper Mario back to its roots. This is coming from a person who hasn't played the games.
Done and done
Already filled it out 😊
This is our moment. Time to save Paper Mario from Tanabe’s stupid ideology.
Tannabe is basically acting like Mr O”Hare from the Lorax. He wants to let it die, but we are going to stop him!
I managed to fill it out while it was up
It says it’s not available
Kinda apprehensive about this survey thing, cuz... that's kinda how the Paper Mario series went downhill... but thats just a theory
A GAME THEORY
hi SuperMarioT
Hi, Anthony Smith
God dammit it’s not active now
is this survey official?
Nooooooo! It IS just a remake. I was hoping for added features like re-fightable bosses.
But I'll still have a good time with the game
They only listen to the survey if it's convenient to the IP team though
They really should ban you from the other button dude!!
Damn! I missed it. If only I didn't need to sleep
Where is rhythm like rhythm heaven
Lost alot of hope in nintendo so i doubt itll make a difference nevertheless i will do this survey so nobody cant say i didnt try. Lol
I filled out mine already
Never clicked on a notification so fast
Guys, when they ask the question "are you currently playing games on these platforms?" DO NOT TICK "SMARTPHONE / TABLET" IF YOU DON'T LIKE MOBILE GAMES WITH MICROTRANSACTIONS. Even if you're addicted to whatever clicker game and you play it everyday! Unless you want nintendo to pump out mobile games full of microtransactions and gacha mechanics...
Bur this is just to them to see what we like, they are not gonna take decisions on everything
Just did it
Horizon Zero Dawn?????????
Wow, out of all those game series you only play those 3? Oooooooof
Is this real? Please tell me I didn’t just fall into a scam trap
Between Qualtrics is a third party for Nintendo t.co/aLrC54HB8F & some renders in it are new like Ms Mowz & Rawk Hawk, I’m starting to believe more it’s legit
So im suspecting nintendo is going to try pc ports AMAZING
MAKE👏VIVIAN👏CANONICALLY 👏TRANS👏
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!! >:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
it's time to make those casual paper Mario fans from the wii days cry from good storytelling
Super Paper Mario had a good story. It went downhill in the Wii U and 3DS era.
@@traviscunningham7062 yeah! i'm just shocked people made fun of the story in the actual surveys
