It's an older bunch of Frankie's song being released as duets with artists like Rod stewart ,Elton John,Bonnie Tyler,Kid Rock...it's called Double Take. It's quite awesome really..
I thought i was in a time warp? I have this CD already, but it was defective, would not play. I say time warp because our Frankie is either dead or severely incapacitated in some way? I would need to research it. The songs are overdubs or something i believe? Wish i could hear them, i love the guy. I hope yours plays!

Had a pint with Frankie and some others in a hotel in Glasgow in the early 1970s. Pleasant man and a very underrated singer and song writer. All the best to you my man.
Out of dozens of songs he wrote and performed this turned out to be his only hit and it wasn't even written by him 😂 He got angry when people asked him to play Darling in concert. But he was lucky anyway - most artists never have a hit song.

Frankie's one of the few, who really got this song right, he dropped the 'g' in darlin'. We southern Alabama girls NEVER say it, and hardly write it. If you heard me say darlin, it would sound right, if you heard me say darling you would laugh. Lol.

Unbelievable it did not hit the charts in my country The Netherlands. Only the Dutch sung coverversion Willem by Willem Duyn (Mouth and Macneal) did which is nice but nothing compared to Frankie's version.
