All I can say is wow I've been working with polymer clay for damn near 25 years and I've never seen anything like it it's almost like you got to know sacred geometry to make this piece😮
We are very fortunate to have you as our teacher. 🤗 Your cane that did not make the cut is an inspiration for us to simply keep trying. Put your mind to it and you can do anything. My Mother taught me that. Your book's dedication to your parents is a lesson for everyone. (Edit - I fell asleep. It was 4 am 😅. I feel like I cheated, but BRAVO 👏👏👏. I woke up for the end... and the ends look wonderful!) All have a great day. See everyone in class 🤔. Blessings, Grace and Re Jouir -Darlene ❤🤗❤
I have been making your mud cloth canes along with you. My skills are improving so much thanks to watching your techniques. What I have really appreciated is the way you take your time stretching the clay. I think I have always hurried the process rather than actually taking time to work the center of the canes by softening it as you do! It really helps maintaining the shape of the whole cane. What a simple but important step in successful results! Thank you!
Your canes inspire border canes for my projects! A tip for the camera. Clear the field and look through your lens, then mark the four corners of your work surface with a little x, if you need to connect them make a square. When you’re working use the as a visual cue to stay in frame.
Thank you Donna for this awesome tutorial! These colors and patterns are right up my alley. Just received more clay to do this mud cloth cane! Can not wait for the next tutorial!
Thank you, Donna for your gift of love to me and all Polymer Clay Enthusiasts. I absolutely adore Mud Cloth Fabrics, but never imagined I could make jewelry in these patterns. Once I am back in my studio, I will follow your MUD CLOTH design Series and share all of my creations with you and my community.
I love them, too. Was thinking about making tiered earrings with them, I think they’d reallu work out well. The patterns and colors make me so happy❤️ Please do share them, I would be very pleased. 👍
Hi Donna. I am learning so much from your generous tutorials. I am working along side you on the mud cloth tutorials and having a blast. I wanted you to know that I have been doing research into the actual evolution of the Mud Cloth. I have discovered what you may or may not already know something interesting. Many of these symbols as well as others in your non mud cloth tutorials have many different meanings. It makes these creations even more interesting!
I love your tutorials and have learned so much from you. I especially appreciate your ‘mistakes’ and how you resolve them. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge.
Wonderful job Donna!! I’ve been sharing your videos in my group hoping new clayers will understand how very fortunate they are to have you doing these series of many videos.
Thank you Donna, this is amazing! A bit beyond my skills but I just love watching you work. We are very spoilt having you teach us and I really look forward to seeing your tutorials each week. I'm about to buy your book shortly! Thanks again 🥰
Wow, Wow, WOW!🔥🔥Thank you, Ms. Donna! Your tutorials and watching you create give me life!. I was concerned there for a bit, but you rallied and pulled through😎✨. Well done! 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾👍🏾🎉😍😍🎉. Patience is the key! Continuing to work on my technique and clay ratios. All the best, dear lady👑🙏🏾🥰🤗💖🙏🏾
I enjoy watching your process and appreciate your time to to bring this to us. I was concerned that it had become a square but there isn't anything you can't do! 💙
Hi Donna! This series is a ton of fun! I have to wonder, though, if the reason for the blobby-wonky center of the cane is because of not separately reducing the diamond core from the dot-and-line corners? Wouldn't this make the sides of the gold/copper diamonds straighter? What do you think? Thanks as always for pushing the envelope! I'm very inspired. Cheers!🍰
@@DonnaKatoArt OK! I also looked back at the shots of your iPad and saw part of the design was left out 🤨 So here's my question: How hard is it to start the design as a square and then squash it to be a diamond? *and then* reduce? I am guessing that approach would not work. Seems that diamond shape is really hard to do!!!
I like your tutorials very much, the problem is there is no way to buy such big amounts of polymer clay here. I can only find small pieces and they are expensive too. Its almost impossible to create such masterpieces 😞. Also the materials used are hard to get my hands on.

I think in future, I won’t change the patterns, I thought about that as I made them. I will have to investigate their meanings❤️

You know, it could. Reducing parts is sometimes the best way, If i make it again (for the third time! I will try that, kid. ❤️
