Godammit dude you got me to shed a tear for a moment there. I think the music combined with your voice brought back all the old memories of when I first started lego. You probably won't see this and well even though I have the stress of finals and the social issues that we all experience I can say you captured me here in this moment and got me, you got me.
The Lego Animation Golden Age: Don't cry because it's over, be happy that it happened: seriously those videos and the stuff I tried to make in that era got me through a lot of crap in my teenage years. So glad to have you back...and sucking me back into Minecraft, which is both good and bad considering I'm starting uni again soon :P

I really like the verticality of the town, no real flat surface anywhere, reminds me a lot of a few seaside towns I've visited. Totally agree with you, I really haven't seen many Lego videos recently from anyone. And Minecraft is my go-to to relax :)
I believe keshen 8 still uploads from time to time and there are some pretty cool new animators like brotherhood workshop that do mainly lord of the rings and hobbit stop motions and geertos 13 who recently converted harry potter and the order of the phoenix to Lego. Also if you want some more general UA-cam news the twerk, Mikey Cyrus, gangnam style etc have happened (for the love of god do not look them up. Just don't) other than that there's not much to tell you. Also have you any idea what happened to pizzamovies? He seemed to just disappear without explanation

Holy crap. I think this seed is exactly the same seed as one of my seeds because it identical distinctive features. One of he most prominent was probably the long tower overlooking the port on top of the massive tall rock because I created an almost identical styles towers there too

Short version: Something new comes along, a lot of people leave the old for the new. LOOOOOONNNNGGGG version: I think its as simple as this: people grow up. No! I don't mean that in a bad way! Its just, in my case, high school happens (or work, in your case). As much as we hate it, as we get older our actions and decisions have more gravity than ever before. Thus we are compelled and expected to spend more time on more "mature" prospects. Its just the way of things. I, and I'm sure many other animators out there, would LOVE to make more films, but we just can't! We have too many claims on our time to indulge in LEGO stop motion. Besides, Minecraft happened. I'm sure you can admit that it is a lot easier to make a minecraft film than a stop motion or even a CGI film if you have the right gear. There are some out there who are only after subscribers, and will follow the trends as they come. Minecraft videos are easier to make, and generate more popularity. Our generation often forsakes something loved for fame or prestige. You are one of the reasons I started stop motion, Gareth (mind if I call you that?). Your films continue to inspire me. I just wish I could animate more, but like I said, time is hard to come by, even on summer vacation. Especially if, like me, you've gone through a filmmaking course recently and want to make a "proper" LEGO film (do it justice, unlike some of my previous ventures). I haven't made anything that even comes close to the calibre of your films, but I wish I could. Maybe this is when the "growing up" comes into play; Turn skills learned in the stop motion studio to skills on a real filmset. I don't think there is any properly raised stop motion animator out there that does not feel the pull of actual live-action filmmaking. Anyway, you can see the dilemma of us animators. Some of the only filmmakers out there that have been here for a long time and are still going strong are either a) lucky and able to turn stop motion into a job or b) lucky again and are able to have a job and still have time to animate. I really hope to make a REALLY good stop motion film soon, just to top it of, you know? Cherry on top? The epic finally before a possible end to my stop motion escapades? But with Grade 11 looming on the horizon, and then the big 12, and then University or college after that... I don't know... The future is always uncertain, you just have to know where to find peace. Man, am I feeling melancholy and nostalgic right now! I honestly don't know what I've just written, but I hope it makes sense. I'm done blabbering now.
