Grew up in Ohakune, remember McCarthy transport well...I was around 15 time of filming.Awesome Country the Central Plateau,Waimarino,Pipiriki,National Park,King Country Dessert Road,Rangitikei down the Parapara...Watching in 2020
Wow that is a blast from the past, the Kenworth was my husbands truck him driving I went once there with Russell but didnt go again to scary those boys had all the truck driving skill back then. Awesome footage.
By heck that was quite a mission to get them logs out that tight road. I had to laugh at the ride on the bull bars with jandels on at the bridge. Could you imagine that today? LOL, The clipboard guys would have a bloody field day. Great video.
Pretty sure that's the scammell my dad drove at Osborne's transport. They bought it as a logger and converted it to a stock truck. It must be pretty new in this video
Looks so back in the day I was born in the wrong time in the world. Every thing is so different in bad and good ways I guess but hell what a cool job back then and now can’t wait to start trucking for them
The Vid looks familiar.. is that Mike Brown doing the filming he showed me back in 1990.. Great Vid.. I see ol John Stait at the end Cruising through Turangi stopping at the McCarthy Driver House on Tautahanga Road.
