My dad drove one of the first auto kenworth logging truck in NZ....worked for Kinleith, Tokoroa, for nearly 30yrs. He got on a TV Specs ad with his new truck back in the late 60s, 70s🤗...sadly my dad passed away with alzheimers 2009. Thank you these videos bring back good memories😊👍
Wow, nice video mate, some names that are lost to history on longer driving those roads. Lamberts, Scully’s, MLT, just to name a few. Back when Pacific, ERFs Mack’s, Leyland trucks and many other makes ruled those roads. Always remember sitting at that crossing as a kid with my father watching the trucks pass by as we would eat our lunch after pig hunting, back when you hardly ever saw anyone else on the roads apart from forestry gangs and truck drivers… ahh those where the days.
I used to live in kaingaroa and Taupo in the 70's and 80's, and I used to go to school with kids who wanted to be logging truck drivers when they left school.
The early Mk1 Superliner in PacPac colours at 1:30 were specced with 380hp CAT3406's as the E9's were'nt available at the time, some early UltraLiners had the same motors specced in them also. Still a few of these ex PanPac Macks running around NZ
yo..i went out to waimauku today & yall..the truckies up there be driving like freakin so good around the bends at quite a speed up on great north road..it was so good..didnt really enjoy it on the job but those truckies got speed..was so good to see other drivers boltzing it..
