When the company first launched, I think a lot of people got caught up with the pricing, but there has been some genuinely innovative stuff made over the last few years. - DD
No one likes putting on greens that were recently aerated, but that's the price of playing on healthy courses and greens. Gotta do what you've gotta do. - DD
First one here so therefore I win an Allan putter courtesy of David Dusek golf!!!! Thanks for the video and I am just kidding about the putter people. Have a good one.
Liked this review of the Allan putter. I just got mine today and rolled putts with it on a damp green at the course for about 20 minutes. I learned to lighten up on my grip in order for the putter to just swing. When I got home, I removed the steel shaft and installed a BGT Stability Pro putter shaft in it. I'm pretty sure that combo will be money! :). Great review and thanks!!
I have a LAB putter. Went to PXG store to get fitted for the Allan putter this weekend. The problem with the Allan putter is that they can only bend the shaft 2 maybe 3 degrees before it affects the balance of the putter. So you are limited on your fitting. You might have to change your swing to accommodate it. That's not the case for LAB Putters.
The Allan and the LAB putter are based on the same concept, that you want to keep the face square to the path of your stroke at all times. The PXG Allan looks much more conventional, so while the LAB has developed a cult following, I think the PXG could be easier for many golfers to transition into because it doesn't look that different than several other mallets out there. - DD
You need to be careful about changing grips with zero torque putters because the forward press and shaft angle have to be maintained. I'd stick with grip options from the manufacturer or talk with a good custom fitter in your area about what you can use. - DD
Good question. Some grips are heavier than others, so that can affect the overall weight of the putter, and, if you go with a super-heavy grip, it's possible to create a counterbalanced putter. However, a heavier or lighter grip should not affect toe-hang or the how the face orients itself as you swing. - DD
David it appears you are using a lot of hands in your stroke whereas PXG say you need to keep the hands out of the stroke basically just rocking the shoulders. By the way I loved it and have already sold two to my students.
You could be right, but the stroke I have is the stroke I have .... I'm always trying to hone it and improve it, but I don't change my swing for videos. I don't know creators who do, but I think it's important to be honest and authentic on camera. On my best days, I'm a good player, but I'm far from being a great player or possessing a great swing. Continued success to you and your students with the PXG putters. - DD
David looks to me like you are getting far too much rotation in your stroke and as such you are manipulating the face with your hands to compensate. @DavidDusek
Good question. The way bands are using the term, it means toe-up balance, or a club that is weighted and balanced in such a way that the face stays square to the arc you are swinging on. If you let the putter rest across your hands, without hold it or turning it, the toe will naturally go up. - DD
seems like a decent product but you would 100% be better off with a lab putter. this just seems like a lab with extra steps and more torque. even in the description it uses the exact same words as lab. they invented the forward press grip years ago.
I’ve watched a bunch of videos on the Allan putter this week, this is by far the best.
Thanks. - DD
I never thought I would be genuinely intrigued by a PXG putter. Great vid!

As a greens keeper, I really love seeing people try to put this time of year. It'll get better.

Glad you liked the video. Let me know what you think with the Stability shaft in the Allan. - DD
Excellent review. It would be interesting to see a head to head with a DF3
Great information about the forward press offered!!
Glad it was helpful! - DD
Ordered mine today. 🤞🏼
Nice to see others acknowledging LAB technology. I will not part with my DF3, greatest putter ever made IMHO.
The DF3 IMHO is a sore eye looking over.
Great review! Thanks.
Thanks for watching - DD
Currently using a Taylor Made Spider and doing quite well with it.
However, THIS will be my next putter.
I ALWAYS love and enjoy your reviews. You are an amazing speaker. Would love to play 18 with you someday. Ever make it out to Hawaii let me know.
Thanks. I've never been to Hawaii, but I'll let you know if I get there. - Dd
Living and playing golf in Hawaii is ridiculous. Need 5 jobs just to afford playing golf. Lol.
I hope Scotty comes out with some zero torque putters

Great video Just a quick question so forward press is needed with this putter? It’s a habit I’ve done with all my putters thanks
Sorry I meant NO FIWARD PRESS
When it’s put into the LAB Revealer it does not stay square through the stroke
5 rounds in. 30-32 putts per round. I'm a 18 handicap. I think it works
David good video and thank you! How did this compare to the LAB putters?

@@DavidDusek Thank you Dave for the reply and I am thinking the same thing, as the LAB is a lot to take in as you look down!
I’d like to see a head to head with the Lab putter with some mid handicap golfers
I hope there is a fitting center near me!
A PXG rep should be in your area.

Are you able to use any of their grip options without affecting how it performs?

Is the grip critical to the balance of the putter

I tried the LAB putter, but it was just too different in setup and the stroke. I couldn’t make it work for me. This one might be what I’m looking for.
I think a lot of golfers might feel the way you do. - DD
Sasha Roads
how is this compared to the LAB putter?
same concept except pxg's is less hideous.

Lab putter is goat
How so? If so, wouldn't all Pros be playing it? I don't see how 1 club can be GOAT.
@@demsareunamerican6800 in 12 months most pros will have switched to something similar to a certain extent the PGA are thinking of banning them
Does it have an annoying noise on impact like other pxg putters?
I didn't hear anything especially different or unique when I used this putter. - DD

How do you define “zero torque”?
Good question. The way bands are using the term, it means toe-up balance, or a club that is weighted and balanced in such a way that the face stays square to the arc you are swinging on. If you let the putter rest across your hands, without hold it or turning it, the toe will naturally go up. - DD
