North Carolina Kitten Rescued from 70 Feet Up a Tulip Tree

A family in Mebane, NC heard a kitten calling for help somewhere in their back yard. After some looking they realized it was in a tree, but night was falling and they couldn't actually spot the kitten. The texted me that night to see if I could help in the morning. When I arrived I couldn't spot the kitten either. Then finally I saw a tiny black form at the very top of the tree. Because the tree was quite dense and tall getting my climbing line into the tree in a safe location that could support my weight was a bit of a challenge.
When I climbed up to the kitten, she (we are calling her a she for no particular reason) was so excited to see me she started climbing all around the skinny branches and actually lost balance and fell a couple of feet before catching herself. When I picked her up all she wanted was to be held close. She relaxed, purred, and kneaded on my arms and chest as I held her.
After some cuddling and a selfie I put her in the rescue bag and brought her down. The family who called me is planning to adopt her.
