I started planting in early April 50 years ago to make almost 200 bu for the NCGA contest. We now are planting after Mid May when soil temps are 70 degrees and should make 300+ on the Western High Plains of Texas. The ears have 700-800 average kernel filling but is still a while until November. We have very wonderful Fall's to fill the grain. August has been 62 to 92 almost every day which is our average, could be some good contest yields on the High Plains in 2018.
These guys deserve a lot of credit for their honesty showing their stresses and challenges. And what awful chemical exposure from the dust coming off the seed coatings to the sprays flying around those fields...
Audio is much better this video, I can understand what they are saying now. I’m glad you are showcasing these farmers in your video series because I believe they represent today’s modern farmer. I know they joke about having their competitors fall prey to Mother Nature, but at the end of the season they want to be able to be on top with everyone at their best. Big fan of this series as it just scratches the surface of what I would explain to the general public of what a modern farmer is today.
Great show!! This is what I was looking for a long time. At least, we have an idea how the farming goes in USA. Althought, one thing is missing, that many of us would find interesting - try to show us some more information about everybody, with some table shown, like what is the population they planted, weather pattern, planter setup, fertilizer program, planting dates, etc... It would look really good and professional to the farming audience. Greetings from Europe!
+tractor Navigation this is not a bad idea. it would take some time to figure out a clean way to summarize the information in a way people could understand. right now it's mostly about entertainment but I try to insert some advice or tips from the farmers where it doesn't stop the story. maybe we will need a summary show for farmers only but I would have to find the budget to do it this year. :)
I'm thinking we should create a show with NO music. Then we'll leave the show in there with music. Then we'll let the audience (and youtube's algorithm) decide which is better. Vote and comment below if you like that idea.
yes, he's running twin rows. He can do that and perhaps get an advantage in part because of his high altitude and (usually) dry weather, he has no problem getting his corn to cool down at night. Some of the guys in warmer climates can have issues packing the plants so close together.
Got to say love the show you should put it on tv and add more clips of the machines In cab and on cab views, and have the farmers talk about some of the innovative technologies that make wold record yields possible. Also can you talk your company I'm interested in all this Genesis Ag stuff. Thank you:)
I can tell that the show is a little “extra dramatic” but entertaining also being an agricultural show is really cool watched all 3 Episodes waiting on #4
Very little or no music at all would be better. Last episode had horrible audio. Couldn't even hear what they were saying at points. Volume kept fluctuating.
the casting of the growers came down (mostly) to guys who were going to strive for some yield, and who i knew well enough to ask for the favor of letting us come stick our noses into what they were doing to get the big yields. :-) now that it's a "thing" (an actual show people can see and get a feel for) i'm sure it could be easier to find different farms/farmers. but, in the early days when it was just an idea it took a bit of trust for these fine gentlemen to agree to open their collective kimonos to the world.
there is a show where we show early (June-ish) results on the other three farmers. Another round where we get to see the plants well into reproductive stage (after they've thrown ears) at all five farms, then harvest videos at each of the farms. 4-5 more shows this season or so depending on how long we make each one.
Hey Farmable. We created the series but are partnering with others for editing. Shoot me a message from the e*mail that is on the www.Genesis.ag website.
I’d like a little more in depth knowledge. Row spacing plant populations what are they spraying when how much and why. I know if you pay attention you can catch some of that. Otherwise nice to watch
Love corn wars would love to see more please!
more episodes coming soon!
Genesis Ag thank you. Good luck to all farmers.god bless
I wanna see the harvest!

One of the best documentaries/shows I have seen In a while. Love the series, and hope to see more. Great job, and keep up the good work.

Yet another great episode! Keep em coming!

Genesis Ag yes plz create a show I wished this was on tv
I like the music just wish it was a hair quieter
I agree, Same music just a little quieter.
I think if the music was quieter, and not so dramatic all the time would be good.
Yes, drop the dramatics. Its farming, not goldrush.
This is great! We are going to need some more!
This would make a good tv show, and the music is perfect, great editing!
Thank you for posting genesis.god bless
Great videos! Keep them coming!
Love the series keep it up
Can’t wait for ep4!!
NICE! I've been waiting for the third installment. :)
Interesting double rows from the fella at the end.

Chevy. Like a ROCK
Brilliant series, watching in the UK,trying to work out what the equivalent of a bushel is in metric tonnes, finding the music level a bit over powering
Pump up the volume!!

This needs to be show on national t.v.
Niorgen
Very little or no music at all would be better. Last episode had horrible audio. Couldn't even hear what they were saying at points. Volume kept fluctuating.
I could hear everything they were saying, turn up the volume or rewind it
Agree. On mt tablet couldn't here a word
When will ep4 be released ?
Why did you guys get any real big farms?
the casting of the growers came down (mostly) to guys who were going to strive for some yield, and who i knew well enough to ask for the favor of letting us come stick our noses into what they were doing to get the big yields. :-) now that it's a "thing" (an actual show people can see and get a feel for) i'm sure it could be easier to find different farms/farmers. but, in the early days when it was just an idea it took a bit of trust for these fine gentlemen to agree to open their collective kimonos to the world.
Kevin Kalb lives a mile away from me, and my dad is his mechanic.
Evan Eichmiller your dad is the man!!
1:44 Isee a DJI Inspire shadow, very nice
good eye!
When will we see results?

Who edits these? Is it Genesis Ag or are they just producing it?
Hey Farmable. We created the series but are partnering with others for editing. Shoot me a message from the e*mail that is on the www.Genesis.ag website.
Love the content, but the background music/ sound-affects is excessive.
Awesome series, background music is very annoying though.... Not very farmy...
I’d like a little more in depth knowledge. Row spacing plant populations what are they spraying when how much and why. I know if you pay attention you can catch some of that. Otherwise nice to watch
hire a hart beat is classic but true
I think the music should just be softer
Ricky Bobby said that
:-) right! it's a quote from the end of the show too. but, he gives proper attribution.
Longest intro ever
check out tensen farms on youtube

Herbicide, pesticide, fungicide, GMO and masses of fertilizer. No wonder cancer and obesity is rife in america! I wouldn't touch it!
wait a minute....hmmm...fungicide makes you *fat*? i really *do* need to stop drinking that stuff i guess.
