This season and this game ushered in a special 16 years for Tennessee when the Volunteers truly became a top 5 program in the country. 157-40-2 over that time. That’s about an 80% win percentage. That was back when teams only played 11 games, so it’d be like going 10-2 almost every year for 16 years straight. Just awesome. A shame we couldn’t win more than 1 title in that span, but there were some other phenomenal programs like Nebraska, FSU and Florida in that time period as well who were all even better than us. I’m hoping I live to see another period of time like that for Tennessee. Fingers crossed that the 2022 season and Orange Bowl victory are the beginning of it!
