      @@GuyKesTV that's a shame especially as they market the zwift ride as being great for multiple users in one house

      @GuyKesTV yep. Its pretty stiff & I've had to grease mine too.

    It sounds quite squeaky/scratchy? Looking at it mainly for the noise/maintenance benefit over ruining my gravel bike

    I've got the Stages SB20 smartbike and love it. There are many benefits of having a dedicated trainer. Giant owns Stages now, it will be interesting to see what they do in this space. Giant apparently makes a lot of the commercial spin bikes.

    • @decoherence926

      I own the SB 20 and bought the ZR when it died. I don't think Giant will support the bike anymore. Stages owed $14mil to Giant and it would be a liability for Giant to support this brick in the future. I hope I'm wrong

    Think I'm about to buy this frame as my wife and I both Zwift. It would much easier to switch riders if we don't have to swap out an entire bike. And I don't like scratching up the dropouts from trying to get the bike in the trainer correctly. Guess we will see how all the adjustments hold up from loosening/ tightening them 6 days/ week.

    Had mine around a month, love it, though agree with bar/controls, just don’t feel quite right. 👍🏼

    I bought one and have had it for less than a week so it is still very new to me. That said I think it is great to have a fixed set-up this time of year, instead of having to put the road bike on the trainer when the weather is terrible, and then back on the road when we get some fair weather. Luxury, yes, but at a somewhat affordable price, and it should ensure that I keep up my cycling volume and intensity throughout the winter months regardless of what the weather does. So far I have been happy with the saddle but have only done up to 1 hour rides so I'll have to see when I get going on longer rides. I am not mad about the handlebar/controls geometry and seem to struggle finding a grip that I really like when on the hood. I suppose I will get used to it after a few more hours of riding and maybe I need to fine tune the position of the handlebars too, which might solve the issue for me. Those things aside I really like the Zwift Ride and would definitely recommend it for anyone who wants an affordable fixed indoor trainer set-up.

      I could not get on with the geometry either until I took off the little plastic cover to reveal 4 deep set Alun key factory bolts and twisted it up to suit me. WHAT A DIFFERNCE, HUGE DIFFERNCE. Such a joy to ride now, when all I was thinking about before I did it was how uncomfortable I was

    • @GuyKesTV
      @GuyKesTV  Місяць тому

      @@bird-dog81 you’ll get a good workout on anything that gives you enough resistance. This is designed to make getting that workout more convenient and game-ified so you’re more likely to do it. I think it definitely does that but I think there are some things it could do even better.

    Thanks for the tip about using thin lube for less noise. I am new as a a more serious cyclist and have just got the dredded noise complaint from the neighbours. 'turns out I have put 8000 kms on the chain and cogs🤯😃 so maybe not so weird that it was making more noise now that I had begun to do more C-class rides 🤣 I was thinking of botching an old steel frame with a cutting wheel and a welder to take a Gates belt on the kickr core for added silence and no maintenence🤔🤔🤔 don't you loose too much electrolyte with no ventilator? -new sub 👍

      @@117000000 wow, that’s some impressive mileage! Before you start doing belt drive surgery try just sitting the trainer on a thick rubber matt. Old yoga/camping mat cut in half so you can double/triple it up will work. Or those foam tiles for garages / kids play areas work well. You’re basically trying to reduce vibration through the floor but don’t pile em so thick it becomes unstable!

      👍 Thank you, I've thrown a pack soft tiles with a mdf plate on top under there to no avail. I got a pack of harder ones that I was aprehensive to try, so you would not use a plate on top 🤔 I just invested in the zwift cog and click to go with the new chain, but it actually made the reverberating wooong- wooong worse, only did 3 kms over an hour yesterday to analyze, neighbors still wrote me a text afterwards 🤯😵😵‍💫🙄🥺 but maybe one or two layers of the harder foam tiles without a sheet on top 🤔🤔 I've also been advised to try the rubber material that is used under aircondition and ventilation systems, but if this is how a healthy kickr works, hmm I might be in for a big investment in something else, auch...
