Being gas powered is not actually a requirement for being a muscle car, it just needs to have lots of power and that's exactly what a Tesla has.
I agree. I love drag racing but I also drive electric forklifts all day. There is no question the electrical drive will outperform all those gears and banging metal. I have known what an electric motor was capable for well over a decade. I love V8 muscle cars but I wouldn't even bother putting it against a wound up instant power and torque beast like a Tesla. That's because they make instant power. You can't exactly tune a battery powered vehicle to achieve faster times. Only really possible upgrade would be changing out motors. Or removing weight in an EV. So they're going to always be pulling fast numbers right out of the box because you cannot really modify them.

I would say that ev's have a lot more acceleration from 0-30/40 mph, but from 30/40 to 60mph, muscle cars pull ahead. if the track was longer, muscle cars would win almost every time. but when ev's have a speed advantage at the start, it's hard to accelerate past something that's accelerating and already ahead of you.
