I love the peace and quiet of the electric motor. Your new home is beautiful and well appointed. The skylights make it so bright inside. I hope it is not too difficult to keep them clean and sparkly. Wishing you many wonderful years traveling on the canals of Europe.💞 I love the reflections of the trees on the skylight as you cruise the canals.
Thanks Donna. We love the quiet cruising and the sounds of nature that we would have missed on the old boat. The skylights make everything so bright inside and the reflections are something we didn’t think about at install but seeing them is great. Glad you like her. Have a good week ❤
Ay up me ducks. Seems weird watching you guys on the boat as it silently moves through the water, I'm sure it's so much more relaxing when on the boat. 🙂👍
I love your new silent running Morning Star, it is so wonderful so see her gliding along the canal with no sound. She looks so beautiful gleaming in the sunshine, and we can hear you so clearly now!❤️🌻❤️ Hugs to you both and a big kiss and hug for dear Dexter, I adore his fluffy white eyebrows.
Thank you Janice. We absolutely love that we can hear the natural sounds more clearly. The colour definitely pops in the sun. We love her. Hugs to you from us all aboard. ❤
Nice one lad you getting ust to ya boat now Dexter was jumping about like a pup he cracks me up my Toby barks like mad at him on the tv have a Top week lads big up Dexter 🙂🐶🎥✌️
Cheers Lee. Yeah, getting there. Some very different features that will take some time to manage. Aww bless Toby 😂. Dexter does have his puppy moments 😊. Have a cracking week ❤
Thanks James. He is definitely a big part of our family and we are so lucky to have such a gentle soul as part of ours. Hope you are keeping well. Great news re your new job. 😊.
Thank you so much. That cruise was brilliant to get used to the boat. We love the silent cruising. Something special about the silent cruising. Have a good weekend ❤
The great thing about electric propulsion is we start to realize and pay attention to the amount of noise we produce or are bombarded with and what it does to our mood and mental health. Plus you are so lucky to have Liam living in your engine bay! Lolz! With our population ever expanding we need loads more quiet things! Happy travels! ❤
Couldn’t agree more. We love that we can hear the nature around us. It makes you feel part of it. Definitely improves the mood. I do think being around water helps. Life is one big noise so to have those lovely tranquil moments is amazing. Happy weekend to you. ❤️
I really like watching the world you have filmed go by without any music. Thank you for sharing the silence of the engine and the little noise of the prop! I like the new boat. xx
What a fabulous video guys. Really enjoyed the first cruise with you. It did look absolutely amazing. So glad your're enjoying your new boat. As with anything new to you I suppose it all takes a bit of getting used to, but I think you have it sussed out. Beautiful scenery as well to enjoy. Glad that Captain Dexter is feeling relaxed as well with his new surroundings. Look forward to many more cruises with you. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Louise. Glad you enjoyed. Dexter definitely feels more relaxed when cruising due to the lack of vibration. Definitely will take some getting used to and some issues needs sorting but all in all, she is a beautiful boat. Have a lovely week ❤
Hey guys, oh its sooo lovely to see you both happy and relaxed, Dexter too! Just the sound of the water lapping against the boat as you go along is positively dreamy! I love bluebells too by the way. Their scent is gorgeous in't it. Hope you're having a good week. xxx 💕
Thanks Debbie. Dexter definitely prefers the quiet cruising. The sound of the surrounding nature and the water is great. Yep, bluebells are a beautiful smell. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Love the reflections on top of the boat as you went through the tunnel, and as you were travelling under the trees. Never lose your excitement travelling on Morning Star as your happiness is infectious. Big hug for Dexter and pleased he seems so much more relaxed.
This was something we didn’t even think k of Glynnis, until we saw it. It looked amazing to see. We absolutely love travelling on the canals and glad you enjoy watching our cruises too. Dexter definitely prefers the quiet cruising bless him. Have a lovely week ❤
Thank you for showing the lock operation, no one ever does that, they pull in then they pull out, but the operation of the lock is the interesting part of the video, I realize its old hat to the folks that use them all the time, but most of us have never seen it before, so again, Thanks
Was taken aback when the YT caption generator wrote that you had trouble with your bowel thrusters! So relieved to discover the reality. The boat looks magnificent and you are both clearly enjoying the process of getting used to her. Great episode.
😂. Nobody wants that. I have seen that before, think it is our Northern accent. We do love the boat, especially the silent cruising. Hope you have a good weekend Ian. ❤
It really is surreal Michael. Love that we can hear nature more clearly. Aww, he feels so much better after a shower. His expressions are so funny. Have a lovely week ❤
And a-whispering down the canals you go. Fabulous! As a viewer of your vlogs on MS1 I got used to the noise of the engine, as I'm sure you must have as well. But, I really notice its absence on MS2. The difference is amazing! Happy cruising boys!
Thanks Mike. It really does seem strange not hearing the engine but to hear the amplified sounds of nature and the rippling water makes it all worth while. Thank you as always for watching and your lovely comments. Have a good week ❤
The swallows have gone back to Capistrano. Well done in that tunnel. That was a great vlog, very beautiful. The boat is amazingly quiet, I thought I’d miss that noise but I don’t know that I would now. 28 is a good temp in my opinion for summer, way to hot for me but it gets so much hotter here. Wont that diesel last for ages as you’re mainly electric if I understand correctly. Brilliant trip guys, thanks. Kisses for Dex. 💕
Sorry for the late reply Pauline, your comment for filtered into held for review for some reason. 🤷♂️. Miss when the swallows go. Seems like summer is ending. The tunnel was a bit scary. 😬. Not hearing the engine was a bit weird at first but hearing the nature amplified is stunning. The diesel should last a long time 🤞. 28° too hot for me but guess depends how much you are used to. Have a lovely week. Hugs from us all. ❤
Wow in deed it looked like such a smooth trip and twas so relaxing to watch - more than ever - in the new Morning Start - keep your cool guys and Dexter too cheers Debz from Oz
Wow it’s so quiet not use to that I expect to hear a chug but absolutely stunning but like any thing new you are bound to get teething problems love to you both and of coarse a cuddle for Dexter and of course stay safe and a a fab week
It does take some getting used to Maureen. Dexter much prefers the quiet cruising too. Definitely expected to have teething problems. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Thanks for the update guys. Seeing Dexter is always the highlight of each video for me. I hope #Oakrums and Liam are seeing an increase in traffic to their website and office with all of this justified promotion. Having a builder of anything put this much effort into customer service is unheard of today. Anthony gave us masterclass in operating a narrowboat -- I felt like I was watching a horror movie as you navigated past the oncoming boat in the tunnel. Here in Toronto we've been suffering this week with the heat. 38 C (with humidity) for the last 3 days. Thankfully not in the southern U.S. Hope all 3 of you have a wonderful week ahead. Thank you for the update (and awesome music near the end).
Thanks Greg. Dexter definitely the highlight for me too. He is such a gentle soul. Oakums have been great and agree, you just don’t see the pride in work anymore. That tunnel was very scary, I was sure we were going to get hit. I don’t envy your heat but especially the humidity. I really struggle with that. Thanks for watching and your kind comments. Have a lovely week ❤
Cracking video guys👍. Love to see the beautiful countryside. Also interested in how the solar/ generator system works in the long term. Sounds like a perfect combination of energy systems. I love the way that the system control can be monitored remotely. I’ve got a mate who installs systems for motorhomes and I can see how faults can be rectified remotely. It’s the way forward 👍
Thank you and thanks for watching. We can’t wait to see how the boat performs during the colder months. We love the technology on the boat too, having the heating come on before we get back from a day or two away will be a game changer 👍
You are both oozing happiness, I'm quite envious. I was praying you didn't scrape that beautiful paint job in the tunnel. Your video production is also quite an improvement lately 👍🏻
Thank you. We absolutely love the new boat and please to say we didn’t scrape the boat in that tunnel. Glad you see an improvement in the vlogs. Have a good weekend ❤
I have been following you since you were staying at friends waiting for your 1st boat to be ready and you were having a bbq in their back garden and Dexter was just watching with his mouth watering :) seems ages ago now x
Hi guys and Dexter! Beyond the beauty of Morning Star what we appreciate the most about this first cruise is that we can hear what you are saying much better and that you are using less fossil fuel. What an amazing first cruise for you guys. You guys looked totally relaxed and happy. Dexter seemed to be right at home with his new surroundings. We loved hearing he could navigate the steps. He's just the most handsome guy. We wish you all a most lovely weekend from your friends in the Tropics of Florida. Love and hugs to you all. John, Dean, Johann and Greta. Our pups send special hugs to Dexter.
Hey guys. Glad you enjoyed. It was surreal not to hear the engine but really nice to be able to hear the water and the birds more clearly. It does feel good to be able to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. Dexter is definitely more relaxed without the vibrations of the engine. He really is doing so well too. Hope you guys are keeping well and the fur babies are ok too. Have a lovely week all of you. Chin scratches for Greta and Johann ❤❤xx
What a joy it must be to silently cruise on the canals now. I was nervous for you in the tunnel. I kept saying "don't scratch the paint job!" LOL Looking forward to many more cruises.
It really is Carol. We love the silent cruise. The tunnel was a bit scary, especially when the boat came towards us. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Have a lovely weekend ❤
What a beeeeeauuuuuutiful looking boat, and the colour is so fresh and cool. Feel free to not play any music when you are cruising - it is so peaceful and interesting to hear the natural sounds. Dexter's ears are obviously very happy with no motor noise too. You've made a winning choice all round and it has to be cheaper. Solar is cheaper in a home, so no coal etc. will be too (she said confidently!)
Thank you Eimja. We absolutely love her. Sometimes music is out over poor sound such as wind noise but we always try and keep the important natural sounds when we can. Dexter definitely seems to love the silent cruising bless him. Fingers crossed we make some savings on fuel too. Have a lovely week ❤
Lovely to see your first maiden together cruise, some stunning views and one day technology will also give us the smells. Can understand why you love the sky lights, for the air, and the views out, can imagine some night skys are wonderful. Guess the rain on them will give a different sound but not a bad one. Wow the diesel cost but guessing it will last you a long time and as you said no need to buy gas, coal, etc. Ive always thought tunnels give the impression that two boats wont fit, and never met one. So nice to see the three of you so happy and excited and loving this new chapter on new MorningStar lovely to be able to share it with you, thank you xxx
Thanks Susan. Loved the reflections in the skylights. Definitely looking forward to some dark skies and the stars through the skylights. I love the sound of rain on the boat too. That diesel should last us a long time. I always think that two boats won’t fit when we go in this tunnel. Thanks as always for your lovely comments and support. Have a lovely weekend ❤
My wife has been watching up through the channel. I'm watching some. Paul reminded me of someone. I finally figured out he looks like a young Leonard Cohen. It was bugging me. Hallelujah 🐸
The lack of any engine noise makes cruising a real delight. That part of the canal before and after the Crick tunnel looked so pretty. Thank you for letting me ride along with you. All the best Stephen ❤
Hey Stephen. It feels weird not hearing the sound of the engine but love it. The canal around Crick was beautiful. Thanks for coming along. Have a lovely weekend ❤
What a magical cruise 😊. Gliding along quietly, the reflections on the sky lights was amazing, you obvious joy at living aboard. Fabulous 😊. Love to you both and to Dexter x
What a beautifully quiet ride! The sound of water lapping the boat in the tunnel was amazing. Lovely for dear old Dexter to be more relaxed on board ❤️🥂
Thanks Cherry. It really was great to hear the natural sounds as opposed to the engine. Dexter is definitely more relaxed bless him. Have a good week. ❤
Hey Morten. It definitely is a steep learning curve. Even the battery management is different. It definitely was the diesel engine that made him shake bless him. Hope you are keeping well ❤
Thank you Dawn. It really is amazing to cruise along without sound. Most stuff sorted now but will be happier when everything is completed. Have a lovely weekend ❤
A great start with the new Morning Star. . . . .she looked so good on the canal and I have really took to the colour.I guess it will take a while to get to really know how she handles and getting used to all the gadgets.I share your pain with the diesel costs as I have just filled up our camper van to the tune of £100. . . .ouch. Have a great weekend and keep your wonderful videos coming,
Thanks Mark. Definitely finding our feet re batteries and handling of the motor and the boat’s capabilities. £100, does make your eyes water doesn’t it? Have a lovely week ❤
Stunning maiden voyage 🌞⛵️⚓️. Love every minute of the vlog! I am keen to learn the savings from diesel and coal. Will look out for that update in 6 months. It is a beautiful home. So happy for you all. Have a lovely week ahead!🤩
Hey. Glad you enjoyed. It was a baptism of fire in that tunnel 😬. Definitely be good to see the savings. We would probably need to do a winter for comparison. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Well done Anthony in that tunnel, not a scratch. I love that when you're cruising all you can hear is your surroundings and the lapping of the water is so relaxing. I agree, you can't beat the smell of blue bells. Dexter was really concentrating on the BBQ. When you called his name his look was one of "What do want? I'm keeping an eye on my portion" lol. Were those pork steaks? Looked delicious. Good to see Dexter enjoying his new home.
Thanks Jay. It was a hairy moment seeing that boat coming towards us. Agree re the natural sounds. Never really heard the water rippling round the prop before and it sounds amazing. Bluebells are beautiful. Shame they only last a short time. Dexter definitely had his eye on that BBQ. He knows too but pretends he can’t hear 😂. Hope you have have had a good weekend and have a great week ❤
I love this. So quiet and peaceful, definitely the way we're going with our NB build, when we do it! I'm interested in hearing about the costing etc you mentioned, that'll be really helpful too👍🏼 the music and scenery made me go...ahhh.... 😊
Aww thank you Angela. It really was fab to hear the surroundings instead of an engine. Just amazing. We will probably have to do 6 months of costings to get a true sense of cost comparison but we reckon we should at least quarter the cost of diesel. Glad you enjoyed and good luck with your future plans ❤
She really does Carole. Almost camouflaged. Dexter is so much more relaxed on the stern when we cruise, which is amazing. Have a lovely week. Take care ❤
So happy for you guys! Thanks for the gorgeous boat tour, last time, & taking us along on your quiet, first cruise! I love how your indoor garden mimics the plants you see on the lock walls/gates & on the tunnel wall, as you entered. Very appropriate. That tunnel was quite the "baptism" of the boat - great work passing the other boat in your brand new one, which must have added some concern about paint scratching! 😉I hope it's cooling off a bit, now - especially for Dexter.
Glad you liked the tour. The first cruise was indeed a baptism of fire. That tunnel with the 2 way traffic 😬. It is a beautiful sunny evening tonight but not too hot thankfully. Have a lovely Friday evening. ❤
The quiet of the boat is almost magical--everything seems more restful (and I never really heard the birds before with the old boat), and your voices come through so clearly, with no straining to hear you clearly. I loved the shots were you could see the trees overhead reflected in your huge skylight windows, as well as the way the boat blended in with the grass in your last morning with its green (and the reflections of the grass as well). And I now have this image of Liam living down in that hold on your boat, sort of like Harry Potter under the stairs. 😂😂
It does seem surreal James. Never thought about the reflections in the skylights until this vlog. 😂, we should definitely make Liam live down there. Our own personal engineer 😊. Have a good weekend ❤
Thank you Leanna.we had a fabulous first cruise and not hearing the engine noise felt strange but we loved it. Thank you for following. See you next time ❤
Beautiful cruise. The background sound of a diesel engine has been so much a part of the cruising vlogs I've watched that it was disconcerting at first when it was missing. I'm really enjoying the sounds of the canal that are usually masked by engine noise.
Thanks Dave. I agree, was disconcerting when we turned the key for the first time and expecting something 😂. Definitely great to hear to hear the water and the sound of nature too. Glad you enjoyed the cruise. Have a good evening ❤
Hi guys. You have an amazing boat. Thanks for the tour in the previous episode. 2 things. You have a lot more Lithium capacity than you first suggested. Yes, you have 800Ah, but it’s at 51v. That’s the equivalent to 3200Ah at 12.8v. Second thing, I noted after you came out of the tunnel, at the 10:20 min mark, that your fender line was over one of the panels. That’s not good for power output, and in some panels can cause overheating and lead to early degradation.
Thank you. Glad you like the boat. The boat builder said we have 800Ah at 48V so we know the capacity is larger than the battery stated capacity. I keep telling Paul about the rope on the panels. It can be difficult sometimes as there isn’t much space on the roof given the panels and skylights, but we do try and move them onto the area with no panels when we remember. Hope you are having a good start to the week. ❤️
WOW, wow, wow! That new boat has just taken your vlogs to a whole new level. So quite. To hear the water driving in crick tunnel, you wouldn't hear that on a video with a diesel engine. So pleased for you both and obviously we'll jealous!! Enjoy
Thanks Cary. It really is strange not hearing the engine but great to hear the noise of the water and nature. Thank you for watching and have a good weekend ❤
Hello you three. Loved the vlog this week, but I was so excited when I saw you both standing outside the boat last week. I knew you were going to give us a tour, I must admit I just thought it was lovely, and your choice of colour with decor was wonderful. I knew your boat was going to be very special and it was. So wishing you all great and new adventures. Xx
Lovely cruise made me a bit anxious when the other boat was passing in the tunnel well done not a bump!! The boat is sooo quiet you can hear everything as you’re cruising wonderful. Dexter seems to be loving the boat he’s such a cute guy especially after having a bath looks so soft. Take care you two ❤
😂. Made me anxious Judith. The silent cruising is surreal, love you can hear the water behind. Dexter definitely more settled, because there is no vibration of the engine. He really is the sweetest dog. Have a good weekend ❤
Wow what a wonderful cruise. Really couldn’t tell if it was running. Must be a great feeling to get the first one under your belt. When I replying to the vlog it is July 8 and with the humidex it’s 40c in Nova Scotia . Smart Boys getting Dexter a cooling jacket ❤. Cheers to many ,many more adventures with the new morning star. Hugs
Thanks Mary. It really is a nice feeling having done a proper cruise and tested stuff out. Blimey, not sure I could cope with that heat. Dexter loves his cool jacket, definitely a good buy. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Thanks Michele. We are good thanks. Got absolutely drenched @Brinklow Marina last night 😂 . Went to the Brinklow Bash. Had a balll. People were so lovely. Hope you have a good week guys. Take care ❤
I am surprised at how much I enjoyed the peace and quiet. Nice to see Anthony using the bow and stern thrusters, gently nudging the boat into position. Nice to know Dexter Dog also enjoyed the quiet. Perhaps he felt additional comfort from hearing your voices during a cruise. Anyway, brilliant stuff, take care.
It is surreal not hearing the engine David. The bow and stern thrusters are a great addition. Dexter definitely feels more relaxed bless him. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Hey guys. That cruise was great, so quiet and peaceful. Glad you’re loving the electric propulsion. Those bow/stern thrusters look fantastic. Not looking forward to having to fill my diesel tank when I get mine but curious to see how long it lasts you. Have a great weekend, enjoy Brinklow bash x
Hey Phil. It really is fab not having to listen to the engine. Yeah, definitely make sure Liam puts more than £10 in the tank! 😂. I do think we will end up using less diesel than before. Hope you have a good weekend. Looking forward to the Brinklow bash. See you soon ❤
It is so odd not hearing the engine . Glad you are both loving your new boat , thanks for taking us viewers along for the ride too . Must be the time of year for dragon flies , I walked along the canal at Rodley the other day and saw loads ,they are a beautiful colour . Linda x
It really is Linda. We love the silent cruising. Definitely seen loads of dragon flies recently, they are beautiful. Thank you for coming along with us. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Thanks Christopher. Yeah, you are probably right, the tiller is higher too which is probably why it feels heavier. It was fab though. Hope you have a good week ❤
Thanks Philip. We love her. The diesel is for heating and the back up generator which is needed when solar isn’t enough for the battery top up. I just think it was empty ish when we got the boat. Fingers crossed the system should quarter our diesel costs. Hope you have a good week❤
MS2 seems to be working great, I’m so happy that you like the new boat. A new conundrum, moor in the shade to be comfortable or sit in the sun to charge your batteries.
Great vlog Paul & Anthony, loved the reflections on the solar panels, so different from the usual. Enjoy your new lifestyle guys. Just a little comment on the sound, it’s dulled like mono, maybe switch the mics to stereo, it may sound louder. 😊 🩷🩷🙋♀️🙋♀️
Thanks Kate. Glad You enjoyed. We didn’t think about the reflections in the skylights but they looked lovely. Thanks for the heads up re the sound. A few people have said this. Have a fab weekend ❤
So amazing how quiet your gorgeous boat is. Love 💕seeing the reflection of the trees on your skylight as you cruised through . Morning star 🌟 certainly makes a great camouflage in the tall grass as you moored up . Dexter is so chilled bless him. Love all the camaraderie with ya fellow boaters 🤭🥂
Thanks Jeannie. We never thought about the reflections in the skylights but it looks amazing. She definitely blends into her environment. Dexter definitely is chilled. Glad you like the vlog. Have a good weekend ❤
Hi Paul and Anthony. Nice opening to the Vlog, end then to find a Man in your Engine Room doing "Man in an Engine Room things" was so funny. What a lovely and clean engine room too. Your BBQ looked really nice. The boat is looking lovely, Glad both Thrusters were fixed, that's electronics for you, but it must make so much of a difference navigating the boat along the canal. Have you tried turning on a Sixpence yet? Love to see that when you do. Anthony well done navigating when leaving the Marina in such a tight space. Is the boat generally heavier, thinking about the extra weight of the skylights, you mentioned about the tiller feeling heavy. Crick Tunnel looked so narrow, and then to have a boat pass you in the opposite direction, you did well not to scratch the boat on the tunnel wall. Top marks again Anthony. I like all the solar power you have. The thoughts of living off grid is so appealing (had I been younger I certainly would have done so). I'm really into solar energy. Loving the banter as you cruise along. How kool is Dexter's own personal hose at the stern of the boat. It was so sweet seeing Anthony assist Dexter getting off the boat near the end of the Vlog. Glad Dexter has taken to his new home. The 240litres of fuel should last you at least into the winter would you think, and may to the end of the year? Great ending as Paul walks off into the distance with Dexter, and just loved the beautiful End logo and the colour was fantastic. Did Paul create the logo? Excellent Vlog in every way. Thank you. Take care. (Spoolbox)
Hey Spoolbox, definitely don’t see that every day. Liam is a good sport. It is amazing how much room there is in the engine bay without the large combustion engine. BBQ was great, definitely what we needed. It was definitely a difficult marina to get out of, especially with the other boats moored up. The solar bank is amazing. We are hoping the diesel consumption is quartered. Dexter definitely has more room on this boat and the lack of engine noise has stopped him shaking, which is great. The logo was done by the guys who did our previous one. They have done a fab job. Hope you are keeping well and have a lovely week ❤
im sitting here feeling so relaxed ... its as if I've been on the journey myself. would you ever consider either having fans or some kind of aircon put into the boat for those days when it heats up intensely? i would have been sooo nervous going thru that tunnel anyway but with another boat coming that is intense! great video.
Hey Paul. Glad you enjoyed the cruise. It definitely feels more relaxed without the sound of the engine. We investigated aircon but the cost was quite a lot. We have a tower fan and usb fans as well as an air cooling until. It helps but aircon would have been amazing. It was a bit hairy when that boat came towards us, especially as they were diagonal across the canal 😬 . Thanks for watching and have a fab week ❤
Thanks Jill. It really does feel strange not to hear the engine. We 100% think that is why Dexter doesn’t shake. We don’t think he liked the vibrations on the deck board. Have a lovely weekend ❤
She glides through the water beautifully. 💙💙🐾
Thanks Susan 💕
Ay up me ducks.
Seems weird watching you guys on the boat as it silently moves through the water, I'm sure it's so much more relaxing when on the boat. 🙂👍
😂. Definitely a bit weird at first but very relaxing.
😊
I love your new silent running Morning Star, it is so wonderful so see her gliding along the canal with no sound. She looks so beautiful gleaming in the sunshine, and we can hear you so clearly now!❤️🌻❤️ Hugs to you both and a big kiss and hug for dear Dexter, I adore his fluffy white eyebrows.
Thank you Janice. We absolutely love that we can hear the natural sounds more clearly. The colour definitely pops in the sun. We love her. Hugs to you from us all aboard. ❤
Loving the electric boat, so peaceful
Thank you. We love the quiet cruising 😀 Have a good week ❤
Blown away by how quiet your boat is. Phenomenal. ☮️
Thank you. We love the sounds of everything around us. Can’t believe how quite the boat is 👍
Nice one lad you getting ust to ya boat now Dexter was jumping about like a pup he cracks me up my Toby barks like mad at him on the tv have a Top week lads big up Dexter 🙂🐶🎥✌️
Cheers Lee. Yeah, getting there. Some very different features that will take some time to manage. Aww bless Toby 😂. Dexter does have his puppy moments 😊. Have a cracking week ❤
I just love the quietness of the electric engine, & the watery soundtrack to your trip through the tunnel.
Thank you Deborah. We love that we can hear nature at its best. Have a lovely week ❤️
You're living the dream!
Thanks Molly. It isn’t without its difficulties but wouldn’t swap. Have a lovely week ❤
I love how much you think of Dexter, mooring in shade and using diesel to charge your batteries, he is very lucky to have such fantastic owners ❤
Thanks James. He is definitely a big part of our family and we are so lucky to have such a gentle soul as part of ours. Hope you are keeping well. Great news re your new job. 😊.
What a joy this cruise. IF you had doubt of the new boat it was gone in the first 5 meter. Keep floating, vlogging and enjoying.
Morning all what a great video, very entertaining it’s so much quieter than the other one. Loved everything about it and have great week😊
Thanks Sandy. It definitely is so much quieter. Loving the fact we can hear the water rippling behind the prop. Have a lovely week ❤
Wow how quite is the boat amazing and the green colour just blends in to trees and grass and the best thing Dexter loves it xxx
Thanks Pamela. It definitely does blend in. Love how settled Dexter is when we cruise and all the added space he has. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
I really like watching the world you have filmed go by without any music. Thank you for sharing the silence of the engine and the little noise of the prop! I like the new boat. xx
Thank you. The silent cruising is great and love to hear the water behind the prop. Glad you like her. Have a good weekend ❤
The future of canal life
I reckon so John. Have a lovely week ❤
Paul and Anthony I’m very happy both of you and Dexter are happy in your new home. Ishiguro you health and much happiness. Please pet Dexter for me
Thanks Ginger. We love our new home and more so because of the extra space Dexter seems to have. Hope you have good week. Hugs from all of us ❤
Wow! So so quiet! What a peaceful way to cruise! I bet it’ll take a bit of getting used to lol 😀 Stunning boat, miss you guys xx 😘
Hey guys. It is very weird not hearing the engine but we do love it. We miss you both too: hope Martin is having a good birthday ❤
What a boat! Congratulations gents, we are so pleased for you, It runs so quietly - we could even hear the birds chirping away as you were cruising!
Thanks Ian. We absolutely love her and definitely love the quiet cruising and the amplified sounds of nature. Have a lovely week ❤
What a beautiful, quiet first cruise. You must both be so happy, especially knowing Dexter seems more relaxed when cruising.
Thank you Delia. We are over the moon and especially, as you say, because of how relaxed Dexter seems. Have a good weekend ❤
Thank you for showing the lock operation, no one ever does that, they pull in then they pull out, but the operation of the lock is the interesting part of the video, I realize its old hat to the folks that use them all the time, but most of us have never seen it before, so again, Thanks
Thank you, it’s probably not shown much on recent vlogs because so many people have filmed it in the past, glad you enjoyed the video 😁
I can’t believe how quiet she is! Amazing. What a lovely summer day, this. Dexter’s post-shower expression-priceless. Sending love. 🙌😘🐶
Well Paul & Antony I don’t know about the “quiet “ boat ! It just doesn’t seem right some how ! But I loved the journey!
Aww thank you Helly. It definitely feels strange not to hear the engine but to hear the nature amplified is amazing. ❤
How happy you all are ,it made me smile found myself singing to a queen song while shopping. Love to you 3❤
Thank you Catherine. We definitely love the silent cruising. Glad you enjoyed the cruise too.
Hey Debz. It really was very relaxing (apart from the tunnel 😂 ). Have a lovely week and take care ❤ 🇦🇺
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 🤩
So quiet. I love it. Dexter loves it. Your boat is amazing. Thank you.
Thank you so much. Can’t believe Dexter has stopped shaking now there is no engine sounds. Glad you like her. Have a good Sunday ❤
That was ages ago Jules. 😂. Almost three years. Where has that time gone? Thanks for staying with us. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Me too...the days go slowly for me but the years go sooo fast , don't they?
@@marjoriejohnson6535 they do indeed Marjorie. ❤️
Hope your wife is enjoying them. Glad you have figured that out. I honestly don’t see it though. Hope you both have a lovely weekend ❤
What a beautiful picture when you emerged from the tunnel, fantastic
Glad you enjoyed Stephen. Was a bit scary to do a 2 way traffic tunnel for our first cruise on the new boat 😂. Have a good evening ❤
Have just watched that with a huge smile on my face - so happy for the 3 of you ☺️🥰
Glad you enjoyed Lesley. We love our new boat. Have a good weekend ❤
What a magical cruise 😊. Gliding along quietly, the reflections on the sky lights was amazing, you obvious joy at living aboard. Fabulous 😊. Love to you both and to Dexter x
Thanks Catherine. We absolutely love our life aboard. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Lovely gentle first cruise..enjoyed it. Learning curve for you guys ….Dexter must have been disturbed by what you now see was a loud diesel engine .
Hey Morten. It definitely is a steep learning curve. Even the battery management is different. It definitely was the diesel engine that made him shake bless him. Hope you are keeping well ❤

Aww, your new Morning Star is gorgeous 💚 it’s been lovely to go along with you I’m your first cruise. Stay safe and have a great week xx
Thank you Angela. We love the boat. Thanks for coming along with us on our first proper cruise. Have a lovely week❤
Lovely cruise, so quiet and peaceful now. Glad they have fixed up the little niggley things that pop up on a new boat. Happy cruising🙋🏼♀️🥰
So quiet just floating great vlog have a great week
Thank you Caroline. It does feel bizarre not hearing the engine sounds but fab at the same time. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Your boat blends in beautifully with the countryside! So pleased Dexter is enjoying the boat bless him❤
She really does Carole. Almost camouflaged. Dexter is so much more relaxed on the stern when we cruise, which is amazing. Have a lovely week. Take care ❤

The new Morning Star is wonderful!
Beautiful
Thank you Martin. We are over the moon with her. Have a lovely evening ❤
So quiet! and that scenery ! Wow!
Thanks for the videop. I enjoyed the ride. Stay cool dexter. God bless.
@@beckyrobinson5672thanks Becky. Have a lovely weekend ❤
It does seem surreal James. Never thought about the reflections in the skylights until this vlog.

So peaceful and quiet, you need to do a comparison video between the 2 showing the difference in Locks, Tunnels and Countryside!

Hi Both, How EXCITING. It took me back to my first cruise from Crick. Enjoy your New boat guysX🐰x

How beautiful you guys! I'm in awe...the shakedown cruise. May you have many many more adventures. I'll be watching!

I knew your boat was going to be very special and it was.
So wishing you all great and new adventures.

@anthonysmith-storey9247 thank you 😊
Wow she looks stunning and beautiful, ouch that hurt for diesel was that just for heating then as I thought morning star was all electric 😊
Thanks Philip. We love her. The diesel is for heating and the back up generator which is needed when solar isn’t enough for the battery top up. I just think it was empty ish when we got the boat. Fingers crossed the system should quarter our diesel costs. Hope you have a good week❤
Sounds like a great shake-down cruise. And by "sounds" I mean no sounds. Pure cruising bliss.....!

Great vlog Paul & Anthony, loved the reflections on the solar panels, so different from the usual. Enjoy your new lifestyle guys. Just a little comment on the sound, it’s dulled like mono, maybe switch the mics to stereo, it may sound louder. 😊 🩷🩷🙋♀️🙋♀️

Well done guys your new boat is fantastic I hope to see you at some point Cheers for now Hxx
Thanks Howard. We are heading back up North for winter so would be great to see you again. Have a good weekend ❤
im sitting here feeling so relaxed ... its as if I've been on the journey myself. would you ever consider either having fans or some kind of aircon put into the boat for those days when it heats up intensely? i would have been sooo nervous going thru that tunnel anyway but with another boat coming that is intense! great video.
Beautiful. Does it seem strange not to hear the sound of the engine? I wonder if that is why Dexter seems less shaky?
Thanks Jill. It really does feel strange not to hear the engine. We 100% think that is why Dexter doesn’t shake. We don’t think he liked the vibrations on the deck board. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Beautiful boat! Great cruise. It seems so smooth and quiet.
It is a pleasure Arleen to have that silent cruising. Just great to be able to hear the nature. Have a good weekend ❤
