- shot this boar in frustration as i was trying to shoot the bit bigger one. was using my (usually) ever faithful .22 mag and as you can hear the 3 shots i had before it actually went on the 4th haha are well.
.22 mag is seriously underrated round...fast and flat with a punch..clean kill, nice work
And the really expensive
@@huntercarpenter4690
Not really, where I'm from I see the ammo for $25 150 rds.
Do you think it's good enough for coyotes
@@KillerKolt44 22 magnums are really good for coyotes, they can take basically anything. 22lrs can do the same ive known people who have bagged deer and coyotes with a 22lr it might be illegal for the deer but it works
17 super mag guy.. or .5mm that shits 3000fps
This is what they call a "small boar rifle".
Hahqh
Awesome...

Cleber NJ LOL! I guess it pays to read the comments first

Tnx
hi thanks yeah its great and effective if your at a close range as in 40-50m and you choose your shots i would not recommend a shoulder shot for eg but forehead or ear hole defiantly a winner, thanks for watching.
In the thick woods of south central TN, my grandad used 22 magnum for whitetail deer and trapping. Within 50yds it has plenty of power if you know where to hit, and where not to hit your target.
It wasn't that small.. Thought you were gonna take of the little pigs. That's surprising to me how well the 22wmr did. Good shot.
small boar taken with small bore. the .22 WRM is surprisingly deadly. The 30 grain hollow-point gets up to 2,200 FPS and delivers over 300 ft lbs of energy on target,, and YES they do expand.. At 30 cents per round, you can put down boar all day on a small budget.
For hogs I would go with 40-45gr bullets designed for controlled expansion rather than explosion.
nice i dont know why everyone is surprised about 22mag power they hit hard as hell.
Great shot.22 mags are awesome.I shouldn't have sold mine. Thanks for the posting!
Took so long to take the shot, I nearly died of old age.
hahahah lol
Hopefully you'll get a chance to watch it a few more times.
You can't rush a clean shot.
When your target zone is like the bottom of a soda can size on the noggin of the hog (broadside), and that hog's noggin is moving about unpredictably while grazing, you have to take your time.
Beau Pearson … I was annoyed, like so many others, that you took so long to shoot. I heard the clicks and clanks, of you cycling the action, but it never crossed my mind, that you had “3” misfires, before being able to get the shot off. It’s a wonder that they didn’t spook, close as you were. Thank you for the explanation and fix. This is an excellent example, and reminder of how dirty rimfire ammo tends to be. A lot of times, especially with bolt actions, we tend to overlook the firing pin spring, if hidden inside the bolt, when we clean.
Just gave you another subscriber
Great shot. I thought you were going for a baby but damn you dropped a good size bacon factory.
cdawson198600 The baby's make the best eating... The choice of kings wasn't suckling pig for nothing.
I bought a cz 22 mag, I'm just waiting on my license... Can't wait to go shooting after watching this... Great shot man
Gun or hunting license
Cz 512 so hard to find
Great shot!
Gotta love the .22 mag
Love 22 magum! I also love my 5.56 with 53 grain v-max bullet that I reload.
I’ve dropped more hogs with a 22 mag than all the other guns combined. The gun is match accurate with all sizes of ammo. 40-45 grain ammo that is shooting well and I have all the confidence in the world that I will hit my target exactly where I’m aiming. They all drop instantly. I’ve taken body shots with 7 mag and 308 and they can run a long ways. Of course a head shot from a centerfire round does the trick also, but I just love my Anschutz.
I will be looking for the cci 50 grain. 22 Magnum ammo is hard to come by here in Indiana.
Video starts at 2:15

Thank u
Thanx
Small boar shot with a small bore. .22 mag. is such a good cartridge. My favorite load was 50 grain Federal. Hard to find now for some reason. What weight bullet were you using, and where'd you hit him?
I wanted the 50 grain but 30-40 gr is perfect for the wmr, once your at 45 you drop over 750 fps
@@bryantbutlermf It's not very hard to toss numbers into the online ballistic calculator. None of them drop any kind of 750 fps.
Federal Small Game 50gr | CCI GamePoint 40gr | CCI WMR polymer tip 30gr

@@exothermal.sprocket yeah everything 30 grain is almost the same besides at 100 yards, drops to 1900 (1875) when ya use 40 grainers. Been looking for gamepoint for years now
I guess I'm wondering what you were thinking with a pig right behind that one and and cows on other side of fence . Jez
Awesome shot...he didn't know what hit him. My favorite round of course shot placement always matters
He didn't know what hit him, but his friends did.
Well done! What range was that shot at? Thanks for sharing!
What 22 magnum ammo was you using. There are no wild pigs where I live. I hunt coyote with the 22 magnum with the 30 grain V-max. Also go for the ear hole.
If you could ? Give us the 411
Rifle, range, poi, boar size, time, position of the sun / moon, where's Rangoon ? By the way great shot. Do you think you could have done that with .22 lr ?
lol .22 mag 30 yards and yes no drama with a .22lr its all shot placement
hi yeah i had 3 misfires with my old stirling. problem has now been fixed. the spring was dirty inside the bolt. i was actually going for the larger pig but was annoyed and frustrated the smaller black one copped it as it presented the shot. ah well thats hunting sometimes.
Yeah, I have been getting light strikes with my Marlin 983t.
If it is a bolt action you can reset the hammer without ejecting the round and eventually get the shot to go. Just rotate the handle up and back down.
I think I found the problem with mine. The firing pin return spring is misshapen and a little crunchy feeling. I also think I fixed it but need to get to the range to confirm it.
a lot of people underestimate the .22 mag but with the right shot placement it can drop large game no prob
I know a guy who worked for fish and game, and he used a .22 magnum single shot break action rifle for Deer Control in urban areas.
One shot to the neck or head, every time, never failed to be an instant kill. I haven't had that kinda luck with a 20 gauge slug! Then again.... those were heart shots.
I've seen video of hogs at further range drop the same way with .22LR. While this doesn't give an ounce of forgiveness honestly, if you're able to pin-point impact location you can get into the brain.
I used to think magnums were loud. I dont know much about guns but do u have some sort of silencer?
bingwa the camera minimizes sound because of the loudness not just with the .22wmr but with any gun
It's not that loud.
Great video! Nice scenery to boot. Thanks for posting. How far away were you? And what do you think it weighed? This makes me really want to try out a 22 mag for hog hunting.
Excellent caliber for hog hunting with proper bullet placement. Behind the ear shots are deadly and they will drop in their tracks everytime.
All people use is 22mag on hogs I thought. No need for more. In FL that’s how it was anyway
Nice,what grain bullet?
what ammo ? what distance ?
Cows were like wtf?
hey Mate I have a 22 magnum and a farmer has a problem with a feral pig on his property.
how far were you with this shot? I'm thinking of zeroing at 50 or 100..
hi mate this was under 20m
i sight mine in at inch high at 50m
Thanks for response man. I will do the same.
i use 50gr cci ammunition its hard to get but fast and flat. check out my hunting page on Facebook called Beaus Hunting Page
+beau pearson I got the 40gr hollow point. will get my bro to. he has fb lol
The cows looked over, like the hell just happened lol
Lol see there heads just pop up

STOP
Hammer Time
Beautiful shot mate.Cows wernt in any danger. You knew what u were doing
hi sorry for the late reply i was around 25m away it weighed around 40kg but ive shot bigger with this calibre, i would not hesitate at shooting a real big fella as long as im aiming at his earhole and closer than 60 yards.. cheers beau
what ammo do you recommend FMJ or gamepoint or what do you use?
@@FullTimeHypocrite 40gr or heavier, controlled expansion (small game style, not varmint types) and not something that explodes quickly, and out of a rifle barrel you'll probably reach the advertised velocity.
@@exothermal.sprocket thanks for the detailed answer!
@@FullTimeHypocrite Hey no problem!
What happened champ sounded like two misfires ?
You got some feeding problems bud. You chambered it 2 times with a empty shot? Whats wrong with your rifle?
I couldn't tell from the video, where did the Boar get hit? I was very surprised on how fast it went down.
Did you just have 2 misfires?
What bullet weight did you use? And what brand of ammo?
great shot, what kind of camera are you using?
hi mate i use a panasonic FZ150 its brilliant
You shoot.them at 5 yards and it takes you an hour to shoot?
Nice shot!! Patience is key for a clean kill with a small caliber round.
cheers TheSwampStalker you got that right mate.
I love how the cattle react. They're standing there, after the shot looking like 'What the heck? See that pig over there squirming around? Now, that's funny.' Moo.
nice, what distance did you take the shot ?
so how far was that.
Nice kill shot what ammo?
Did you have open sights?
excellent shot man!
i recently traded in my .22 sig522 for a .22mag bolt action just got a scope in the mail and tomorrow im going to zero it in and then im planning on going to town on some small game, specifically squirrel for a secret recipe ive learned about. i jut want it to be dead on at a giving distance before i go out in the field.
some people still gave me flack for not getting a .223 and so on... but ive always loved my small calibers. i wouldn't pick any other gun for coyote than my .17hmr, dropping them at 170 yards. love it
Bilb Ono great work mate can go wrong with the 22 mag just get it bang on at 50 and no squirrel will be safe from the muzzle to 150 away. happy hunting let me know how you go with it
If you're hittin squirrel just remember to aim for the head! Or the you won't have much left to cook with after the .22 mag is done with it.
Lots of people don't know how deadly the 22 mag is. Shot placement is the key; which is what you should be thinking about anyway before you pull the trigger. You can easily kill a deer with it, but in most states it is illegal. Good luck.
Rainbow Derpyshy I am sorry I meant to say that it is illegal to hunt game such as deer. They don't want you to use rim fire for that type of hunting.
Rainbow Derpyshy Good deal. I have several rifles but prefer my .308. very little recoil and deadly accurate. Just bought a Zeiss scope for it but haven't swapped out the old scope yet. Good luck with your hunts.
What a wonderful camera. Great optics. I wish I knew what kind it was. Beautiful picture quality.
I use the .22 bullet type LR black head, 50 yards, this size is a single shot.
He can have beef and pork?
Really nice video man good work please upload more
What rifle you used sir
What kind of ammo did you use ?
I received a social security check waiting for the shot.
did you shoot him behind the ear? I need to know, I shot a hog the other day in the side with a 22 mag and he just ran off.
It looks to be just below the ear until the eye line.
www.skinnymoose.com/hogblog/2009/02/02/shot-placement-on-hogs-arguments-against-the-head-shot/
He hit it about 3 inches below the ear.
Shot placement. They can withstand a missle almost but a .22 behind the ear drops him instantly.
Gotta love the complications of having a herd of Bovines downrange to keep safe.
distance aprox??
BACON DOWN!!!!!
Clean shot congrats
What rifle was used?
.22mag rocks it does way more than it should on paper
How does the .22 Magnum differ from a .22 Hornet?
+Knuckle_Bump Hornet is a center fire... 22 mag is a rim fire.
Reckon you could drop one with a .22lr?
You can, but you better be within 40 yards. The Magnum has twice the effective range.
Velocitor in the ear hole does fantastic work, Maggie extends range and gives a bit more margin of error. I've done both; maggie is 1st choice, but there's always a few Velocitors in my pocket on a 22lr squirrel hunt in case pigs present themselves, which they often do here in Central Florida.
And how did it taste?
great i did a coca cola glaze and fried the ribs up.
beau pearson That coca cola glaze is fantastic, isn't it?
I guess a bunch of people didn't read that they were your cattle, and must be non shooters, to notice that your rifle was probably same height or higher than your camera. The best part, were the cows' expressions.
A .22 mag is no joke. That's what the butcher uses to kill your cows.
Yeah .22 cal. round is good enough to get the job done!
Good shot love the 22mag and 22lr ,killed many hogs , deer , Coyotes, rabbits raccoons opossums
mate i use cci 50 grain there very effective
Marvellous targets
Very nice shot!
Nice work !!
you did that from a 22mag? man i thought that caliber was useless
Tuan Nguyen Far from it. .22LR is great for rabbits/hares/possums/wallabies, but taking goats or pigs with it is asking a bit much. .22WMR, while still a bit light in my opinion, will take goats and pigs quite humanely if your shot placement is good. And do it without being so powerful as to vapourise any rabbits/possums/hares you are trying to recover for your table.
I see it as a small game cartridge that can step up and take bigger stuff if it pops up when you are out hunting small game.
I agree with krazyhorse, very underrated round, 22mag. Have seen more than 1 deer killed with them too ! Not really recommended....
Skip to 2:16 because before that it's testing the camera scene.
Nice work mate, and with a 22mag. Onya
I've got a 22 mag, mates got a 22 hornet. I prefer the mag and next step up a 223. Don't have those restrictions where I come from
Yes, this restriction stuff is crazy. People yap about .22 LR and WMR not being up to the job then the same people got out with a bow and hit 10 deer in the ass which they lose. .22 WMR in the hands of a real hunter is more then up to the task. I know 2 animal control officers who remove deer from private property and they both use nothing but .22 WMR yet, hunters can't use rim fire. Crazy.
Top shot Beau, love the WMRs!
Luke
why are we just looking at a boar eating for 2 minutes??
where was this filmed at?
new zealand i think.
Cows are looking at pig after its shot and saying "See I told you so"
22 mag ammo is hard to find
So, let's see: LOVELY DAY! Camera & tripod (if any) give us an eye-twisting tour of earth, trees & sky. (Bad prep, or none.) Then there's the NOISY clicks of the rifle. The ammo apparently wasn't much good, either. Nice prep. But a pig died anyway. Congrats.
Bad practise to shoot with livestock in the background.
That's being a safe hunter 3rd time lucky I guess👍
Safe hunter wth , a pig behind that one and cows across the fence wth.
Fast forward to about the 2:17 mark unless you wanna see camera adjustments, loading of weapon, hogs eating, etc...
Shot is at 2:17
I want a .22 mag so bad!!!
BOA TARDE! FOI PERFEITO ESSE DISPARO
holy camera adjusting!
Nice shot!
Headshot, nothing strange.I killed small boar with my 22 LR rifle, standard velocity lead ammo.Bullet goes though head with exit on the other side.
Bullshit
Before you talking bulshits, try. You can buy pigs head and try if you not have hunting expirience. On you tube you can find fotage of hogs killed with 177 air rifle, compared with that 22 LR is a cannon :=)
Yeah, i hunt small piggies with special ammunition 00.006short. That's just fine, I BLOWN THE BRAIN OUT, YEAH!
@@catarinaandersson4215 lmao
22 wmr? wow! still prefer the .308win for hogs...
seeing the cows in the back ground i hope you never hunt in our neigborhood - thats pretty careless hunting!
It’s a small cartridge and pigs are tough of course he took his time
Pulled the trigger 3 times - third time's the charm. Must have some third world ammo with questionable background :-)
