Happy Together was our song. My husband passed on St. Patrick's day and every time I hear this song, I think of my loving husband.

You are right - this SONG is very well known but I never thought that the TURTLES as a group never got nearly as much attention and recognition as The Beatles, The Dave Clark 5, The Rolling Stones, The Animals and other prominent groups of the 1960's.@@rikthysse5084

I loved The Turtles! I won this single on a radio contest in Phoenix 1967, I was 12, lol! Also, won some other good songs: Whiter Shade of Pale, Ruby Tuesday, Light My Fire, Ode To Billie Joe, Brown Eyed Girl, and the cheesey Hey, 98.6. 🤣 Mother said I should go on Name That Tune. 😅

I remember what it was like as we moved from the '60s into the '70s. People (especially males) got angrier and nastier. They wanted more "music" dominated by the electric guitar. Hendrix and Led Zeppelin killed this scene the way Nirvana killed hair bands.

Made a post regarding this song in November 1966 and a lovely young girl who was a cute as a button. we met at a party in Montreal and said good bye at the Montreal Train Station leaving for Toronto. Call her from Toronto a few times with this song playing in the background. Alas the phone calls became less frequent and we never did meet up again. Ships in the night, however, every time I listen to this song, the memory come flooding back and picture her clear as day at the Station with her fur hat on her head and around her lovely face, it’s always stayed with me. here I am 80 years old and on the other side of the World, just a great memory that won’t ever fade. I note a lot of postings regarding this song. Obviously resonated for many thousands of people, even those not even born in 1966. So, fond memories to all of you.

Too easy mate, as it’s a true story of course. I honestly didn’t try to contact her a few years when visiting my brother in Montreal. Some times the memories are fonder than reliving or relighting an old flame. Obviously the fact that I met the girl who would become my wife of 57 years in Toronto and still going, played a major part in leaving it as is. It’s the song that sparks the memories of the times in 1966 and 1967. To reiterate, reminiscing about the past and a lovely young girl who was a fleeting moment in my life, provides a lot of joy from a period that had its ups and downs like many other periods over the past 60 years. Happy to share it with you indeed. Hopefully it also rekindled some of your own memories. May you have a great life, All the best R.

Hi there all. My mistake it was February 1967. Makes sense, as I met my Miss Montreal at a New Year’s Eve party in Ville La Salle before returning to Toronto. Yes I did visit Montreal again for Expo, with my wife to be in town, so no old flame reunion, however, as 5he saying goes; memories, edged between the pages of my mind. Having moved around the world 5 times since 1967 the real pages of the old note book are long gone. All the old friends of the time are remembered with fondness have passed on like the melting snow, and the what ifs or perhaps or if only questions remain, never to be answered. Happy together shall always refresh the memory bank of that intimate meeting and the only one from that 1962 through early 1967 period. A new chapter started in the late winter/early Spring of 1967 in Toronto, and remains ongoing today, some 56 years later in what would be late winter/early Spring 2024 in Canada, or in my case Fall in Australia.

@@marizaribeiro3582 Glad you found something in the story. Trying to find my old friend Bobby Peel, who actually took me to the party where we met each other. Dec 1966/Feb 1967 was a long time ago. Unfortunately things happen in life, obviously I’ve no idea if people are still with us. I was speaking with my nephew in Canada last evening, whom I last spoke to in 1988 and he remarked that I am the oldest living member of the family now and he only 9 years younger than me, His father was the oldest and 16 years older than me. I was 9 when my nephew was born, were closer than brothers than uncle and nephew growing up. He was 12 when I met the girl at the party. He moved from Lasalle around 1972, and no idea as to where or how Bobby is today. The chances of finding my friend Bobby is about the same odds as winning the Lotto, however, if you don’t try? Even if I find Bobby that lovely young lady is now a Grandmother and once again, Bobby may have no idea as many non bilingual people have moved from Montreal. As you rightly said, I do have the Jewel and the pictures in my mind. and bless and take care Mari, Trust I got your name correct. 🤷‍♂️❤

Our version of stereo surround sound and we would sing loudly to our favorite songs! "happy together" being the fantasy, with "how is the weather" being the reality.

If there was ever a tune for skipping hand-in-hand with a loved one over the top of a hill crowned with beautiful wildflowers on a sunny summer day, this one is it! That chorus brings out the sunshine! THIS is the 1960s!

    "So Happy Together"
Imagine me and you, I do
I think about you day and night, it's only right
To think about the girl you love and hold her tight
    So happy together
If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
    So happy together
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
    For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
    For all my life
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
    So happy together
I can't see me lovin' nobody but you
    For all my life
When you're with me, baby the skies'll be blue
    For all my life
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
    So happy together
    Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba
    Ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba
Me and you and you and me
No matter how they toss the dice, it had to be
The only one for me is you, and you for me
    So happy together
    So happy together
    And how is the weather
    So happy together
    We're happy together
    So happy together
    Happy together
    So happy together
    So happy together (ba-ba-ba-ba ba-ba-ba-ba)

One of those meaningful songs of Yesteryear. One is better of when in company of a lover or sweetheart after all being all alone is no fun. I liked to hear this song when I was unattached. But fortunately in time I found her and now have someone to share my life with. We have been together during 34 years of happy marriage.
