These are the things I want for the new hero that is releasing on the 25th and I hope ubisoft goes back to the og style of characters we have. Heroes with unique personalities that are fun to play as, and against. More importantly someone that can delete the outlander faction. Lmk what you guys want to see for the new hero and if you think they'll go the safe route of boring but viable, or if you've given up all hope already. This will be a male hero btw, but knowing ubi, they might gender swap it on us because i forgot varangian guards are historically male.
His feat 1 will be a passive that make all attacks unblockable, and when you are executed, it kicks whoever executed you from the game.
Little underpowered don’t you think? Maybe the feat also make you DDOS whoever your opponent is too

His passive is he slowly makes you hate yourself even more
My only hope is that its a character that can't just infinity attack you until they're out of stamina, feels like all these new characters can just do whatever the fuck they want without any window of breathing room

The new male heros, from what I noticed have infinite combos, while females only 2 hit combos with little variation. Hoping this character breaks the cycle, but I highly doubt it will.

If you haven’t seen the weapon scouting images, he’s probably going to have 7 weapons lmao - you can find them all on the event map version exclusively - he doesn’t have the axe or naginata: it’s like the Yari/spear, the hand rake, the sickle, the mallet, the tanto, the saw, and a smaller and thinner shugoki club - also you can see some artwork with the weapons on the event minion tattoo version of him
I have a cool idea for ocelotl (or any hero with a hidden stance if it makes sense for said hero) is if you use hidden stance just before an attack lands you can do a unique follow-up kinda like a parry riposte, deflect, or crushing counters can, this way you can keep hunter’s snare(the only input in hidden stance) because it's a great distance closer and a gank tool. This adds some 1v1s potential to ocelotl's hidden stance, because the only things you could do was hunter’s snare and sometimes dodging attacks when you've dodge too early like Sol said. Perfect hidden stances( what I’m calling it for now) special property is to move you out of harm's way as well as dealing damage in the process, which is what I envision for this kind of mechanic especially in ocelotl’s case. Because hunter's stance sounds like to me a technique used to wait for a perfect opportunity to strike both in and out of battles, I'm thinking for the heavy follow-up for ocelotl is just like Hunter's snare expect it takes away the build-up and just throws out the attack used at end of Hunter's snare then displaces the enemy behind ocelotl or something similar. To balance this move, it can be interrupted by a fast light chain or heavy chain with hyper armor so it’d be better used after a level 3 warden bash or a similar attack where they can’t move after throwing it. An idea for the light follow-up is ocelotl uses his spear to pierces the enemy peacekeeper style causing bleed and acts like a reverse dodge attack by attacking first then dodging, and at the end puts you back into hunter’s prowl on either side of your enemy, although can be caught if the hero’s heavy finisher has has undodgeable property or has a bigger hitbox. this is just my thought process on this kinda thing because this is essentially adding a new mechanic. what do ya'll think?

Ubisoft has shat the bead with these latest characters. Varangian's better than the outlanders, but for the most part, pretty much any samurai character is sorta busted. maybe nobu on the low end, but if you miss catching her lights, gg. And most people I see playing nobu go for the chain lightspam+kick.
I'd want characters to be geared for general player populace, not the hypersweats of comp tournament players. but that ain't gonna happen.

TL;DR Yes the Rake can be an effective weapon
A rake is definitely a strange weapon to see and definitely one that if it was used in history it was probably by 1 person and a few disciples they might have had. In terms of whether a rake would be a useful weapon; it depends on who wields it. A rake itself is a essentially a pole arm with a right-angled head with spikes, it could be used with precision (with practice) but it would really take an eccentric warrior to look at a rake and think this could be a weapon. Now, farm tools have been used as weapons quite often through history. The biggest and most recent example is the shovel or 'entrenching tool' which can be used as a sort of melee weapon. More traditionally, we can look at karate and especially Okinawan karate; weapons were outlawed in Ryukyu and so people looked to what they had for weapons. This is where we get Sai, the kama(the weapon shinobi uses), the bo (any long wooden tool which you could knock the head off or the pole used to carry water buckets across ones back), tonfa (a handle for grinding rice or beans), nunchaku (used to thresh grain), and the eku (straight up just a boat oar). This is just one specific martial art from a specific culture and region which I am familiar with but Im sure the world over you can find examples of other farming tools being used as weapons and effectively.

Kensei and Raider get powerful t1 feats that help manage stamina...Warden gets one that makes him take more damage 🤦🏻♂️
Honestly we do need a big boy atleast heavy or lawbringer levels of big boy, so he better have hyper armor and un-dodgeable or unblockables

To me it comes down to how punishable a hero is. There are so many characters that can get away with the dumbest things be fine with it. I feel like one of the problems with the game is there's not a whole lot of outplay potential its who has the more annoying bash and spam it the hardest. Raiders storming tap and aramushas soft feint are good things because if you get hit with say ara's feint keeps going but if he goes with the heavy he's done. I think soft feint attacks that are not bashes are a good fhing. All these dodge cancels are annoying because you cant punish them.
Maybe his feats will be his way of changing weapons either temporarely with a busted kit that you only get once in a while or a permanent switch to an entirely different kit which changes his entire dynamic like a jack of all trade master of none type of character

The parry riposte animation consists of Benkei yanking/hooking the opponent's weapon downward then following up with a slash from the saw weapon.
Watch the character have a infinite chain and the tier 3 that lets you regen stamina on hits

I just want a samurai that’s fun and fast but not over the top like orochi and shinobi. The rest are fun in their own way but they feel slower paced than those 2. They can make him dual wield some of the weapons or give him a dual katana stance or something and I’ll be happy.

I have an idea on making hero with 3 weapons, basic stance, hold heavy to go into mallet and hold light into this saw, like highlander but after stance change you don't need to hold

dual wield 2 in one stance, dual wield 2 more in second stance, and then 3 of the feats can be assigned to the other 3 weapons, it could work..
I think he should have loads of weapons and the full block command should cycle his weapon and be able to be used as a soft feint, so hes attacking with his saw or w/e and then whips out his hammer or polearm and each weapon could have its own properties.
Direction could determine which weapon is brought out or it could just cycle like sword>saw>hammer>polearm etc etc
Im hoping for a new assassin/hybrid class, where you can deflect and choose different inputs for different deflects. Light deflect could be a bleed attack with the saw/rake , heavy deflect could be just regular damage with sickle or something else, and there could be a bash deflect that would drain stam and wallsplat with the mallet. Crushing counters would be cool too, different directions being different weapons (whichever is closest to the attack being thrown). I got high hopes, but ny expectations are probably way too high. It better not be another infinite chain hero. So tired of characters being boring and broken.

In my egotistical and not-so-humble way, I bought her thinking everyone was just bad or didn't know how to play her. Yeah, so it turned out I had actually made the worst decision I have ever made in a video game and felt misery and dread like I've never felt before just from playing her

They wont make a fun hero because they would rather make safe easy to play/master uninspired garbage like varangian and all the recent reworks so as to be low risk low reward. they dont wanna invest in the game so making scared money is the play and the only thing thats gonna be new about this hero is the fact that its a new release. gameplay will practically be the exact same safe 50/50 bullshit that they give everyone and what do you know he might have one somewhat unique move that most likely is not gonna be brought out to its full potential. the game has been declining ever since pirate and more people are starting to leave and for that we only have the gameplay to blame which focuses on the dominion aspect of for honor so we dont get interesting well thought out deep movesets. Only thing thats left to appreciate from this game is fashion. Its a degenerative videogame that anyone with self respect and a life would get the fuck away from.
(Edit): upon watching the video i see that solidsol has very based opinions on it in terms of what the game should focus on improving.

Outside the hero i want damage to be nerfed, to me they feel to high but thats just me.
With the hero i want him to not have every single special attack(agreeing with you saying he shouldn'thve every tool). If he is going to be able to switch weapons like medjay, he better have fluid combat. Also i want him to be a unique hero, to feel like no other hero.

@@eetueella i do get that it shouldn't take forever to kill someone. But i also dont think its healthy to have two lights dealing more damage then a heavy. To me I'd prefer having damagethat makes sense of the damagebeing all overtheplace. Like zerker dealing more damage (32 heavy finishes) then highlanders rework (26 offensive stance), or orochi unblockable dealing more damage as goki charged which is the same as glads heavy finishers. That makes absolutely no sense.
And I wonder how he can switch multiple weapons mid game. Medjaj got 2 weapons but with 4 or more weapons? How?
Maybe just the old medjay way, slow animation to change the Yari for the other weapons because in a combo would be pretty strange to se how it changes weapons thta fast considering the size and the main weapons he will use

Quick question guys. I was playing Lawbringer the other day for the first time in forever and i noticed my heavy parry punishes are being parried.. when i get parry punished by a lawbringer I'm stuck in some stun animation for the duration of it. However, when I do it it lasts for half a second and I get parried for attempting the overhead unblockable.. what am I doing wrong?
I just want a character the devs ae going to be proud of making. Cuz theres NO SHOT any of them are proud of VG. Literally 0 reason to be proud of making that character.

I think he will be a bizarre love child of Highlander and Medjay (not gay btw) in the fact he has four stances with multiple very simple yet effective move pools each.
I also think he will be the only hero in the game to use all the other factions weapons and fighting styles since it’s Benkei, a weapons collector (the weapons on the bridge are his feats, if you look closely at his shadow he has a knight shortsword and a Wu Lin jian sword)
Honestly i wanna see this hero is a Nagamaki its basically a hybrid of the odachi and Naginata and i want him to have heavy armor.
I want him to have a throw like shugos demonball with his "tackle" and it goes pretty far for his feats id like the following:
1st feat: on kill he gains a 25hp shield (cooldown 20 seconds) for survivability (passive)
2nd feat: he gains a damage buff the more enemies that are around the more damge he will do (max 4) (passive)
3rd feat: with his strength he grabs the targeted person and pushes them back pinning them into wall dealing 35dmg and they gain a Defence debuff for 5 seconds.
4th feat: he pulls out the Match 38. Musket and fires a chainshot into the targeted person doing 20dmg and pulls them back which can be followed up with feat 3 but cannot land anything else

Historically this char is a male. Dlc heroes have always been alternating genders. I would be suprised if it was gender swapped to a female, but its also ubisoft and they did that to Vag Guard who are historically male warriors...
