You might have already noticed by now, but the Chaos Sorcerer Lord's Path to Glory is win a battle with another spellcaster in his army, not against another spellcaster. Festus looks like a whole lot of fun though, and I absolutely love his start position of being smack dab in the middle of the Empire.
I must say i wished for different character, specifically melee lord - someone like Tamurkhan or Valnir. But in the end im very happy for anything Nurglite. And even as much as i was worried about the looks of the units after the Festus trailer dropped all i can say they look awesome and the Chaos rework looks so fun. I cant wait to get my hands on IE and the champions.
the eye of the god is affected by how many gifts of chaos you have activated the last circle in the little display. the more you activate the more points per turn you get the more often you get rewards. basically nurgul being like hey i see what your doing and i like it have a gift.
Hey, a pile of bodies has a lot of growth. Maggots, corpse beetles, the odd plague rat or two, viruses, bacteria, fungi, not to mention the nurglings that use it as a ballpit. It's the cornerstone of a good Nurgle settlement

What helped me pick one over another for immortal empires is who you d prefer to fight first. I picked Vilitch to enjoy the new Cathay/ Ogre armies and lands.
I think Festus was insane before he took the deal - he was trying to fight one particular disease and got so obsessed, finding the solution became more important to him than actually curing any patients. He knew the deal would stink but he no longer cared.
Yeah they've done this for Valkia and Archaons starting heroes as well. But they went farther in that their heroes are legitimate characters from their canon lore. I don't know if Samuel ludenhoff is canon too. I also don't know if Vilitch and Azazel have unique starting heroes too.
I'm really like the look of this army. I have some Maggotkin of Nurgle miniatures and an unopened Slave to Darkness starter box. If I buy Festus and a Chaos lord I could make his army.
I love that in the promoting tree for the marauder in the chaos undivided side you can upgrade them all the way to chosen and then """upgrade""" them in chaos spawn
Helman Ghorst i think raises his zombies healing cap by 600% with all of his effects combined, so at some point if you decide to do vampire counts again (assuming Neferatta or Nagash haven't dropped) maybe you could take a look at him?
can you imagine the HATE in 8 player campains? You're about to make an important move and boom your hero (who you needed for the move) now worships nurgle and is on another person's team as they laugh at you in discord. XD cant wait.
I just found out that the chaos horse hoof is cloven... Its weird and unsettling, Centigors also don't have hooves but clawed feet I love it and hate it it feels so wrong but so right (for Chaos)
Hey MA, could you recruit a Chaos Wizard of Death Magic. It may be that you can only give marks to them because Nurgle uses Nurgle and Death magic in-game.

As Festus you can Nurgle mark exalted heroes and sorcerer lords. But not sorcerer's and normal lords. Normal lords can however become undivided Deamon princes. A sorcerer lord can also become a undivided deamon prince, if the sorcerer lord first gets the mark of Nurgle he can then become a Nurgle Deamon prince.

Hey monstersAbound, i saw the typo in your description, The Brass Citadel is Khorne's throne room in the warp, The Brass Keep is where Festus is starting.
Festus will be my first campaign I think he has the hardest start in the game fir sure closest possible ally worth anything is clan moulder on tge other side of kislev in hell pit and with kislev its a big IF Clan moulder survives.
So this healing buff is why Festus was such a pain in the ass for my Legions of Chaos? For the record I started my campaign BEFORE buying the Festus dlc, so in MY opinion he wasn't even supposed to be there!
I guess they didn't have subjugation yet for non norscan factions. You can subjugate hochland and make them into a monstrous ally by feeding them settlements. I know ca added subjugation at a later date.

I did not know that standard troops could batter down a gate. Thought it was only monstrous creautures and war machines that had that ability. Seems broken.
I wonder, what would the Warhammer world look like should it truly fall to Chaos? Just a replay of the Daemonic Realms? Let's say Chaos has a total Victory, Cathay would fall to Tzeench, the Empire torn up between Norsca and Undivided, being some kind of middle ground of all, Ulthuan would become a Slaaneshi highground, the dark elves would have a split between Slaanesh and maybe Khorne, giving their culture. What would life be for the average Cathayan, Empire citizen that survives all of this? Or as a high elf under slaanesh?
I definitely don't think training is gonna be worth it in the long run. Getting the first ability in your lord's red line is 75 per turn for 1 skill point where the hero training buff needs 3 skills points to be anywhere near the same value
I love the camera angles, how do you do this? Is it a camera mod or a set of keys? I know he's using cinematic mode but the smoothness of the camera is so much fun to watch
