- Customer complaint - Air conditioning does work in the summer and heat doesn't work in the winter. Fix it.
Forgot to mention that another shop recommended a control head for over $1000. The customer didn't state if there were other repairs included with this estimate.
I found 2 codes that we want to focus on.
B2797 Driver water valve circuit open
B2799 Passenger water valve circuit open
Both of these water valves are built into one assembly and share a power source. That power is supplied by a 10 amp fuse under the hood.
I found that fuse was blown, let's find out why.
I was not able to film the repair video but I ended up replacing the Heater Control Valve, the upper radiator hose, flushing the heater core and cooling system, replacing the leaking oring on the AC dryer, recharging the HVAC system and replacing the blown fuse. The actuator codes did not return and the entire system functioned properly. Thanks for watching.
Great presentation... I have a heater problem on my 2002 lincoln ls..wish u were close by.
About how much did all that cost?
Nice, work. Even if I never work on this exact problem, watching logical troubleshooting is always a learning experience.
Great job. Yeah the PP Hook was having some issues 😁 Thanks for sharing Chad 👍
Got the hook back from repair today so I will have to do some testing and see how it behaves.
Thank you Chad. Good job again. Have a blessed and safe week.
Thank you!!
Lol... it was going well in the beginning, that darn Hook! I liked the process... once again, I think you nailed the issue & efficiently at that. Part 2 in the works? 😊😉
Never mind. Just saw the pinned comment. Lol
I sent in the hook and just got it back. Hopefully it’s all better now.
Nice work man I need to get a hook hopefully the one I pick up doesn't crap out 😜
Most people love it and I hope I can do the same.
Great video chad, I love my power prob 3 I was going to buy the hook but didn’t know much about it. They are like scanners who knows 😂 ... thanks for sharing brother... Jay
I really need to explore all the options that the hook has. One of my favorite features is the selectable voltage reference. Great way to test or adjust 5 and 8 volt sensors on the bench.
ThePracticalMechanic I also love the built in breaker and you can set it at whatever amperage you want. That’s perfect
I’m on my 3rd hook due to reasons like this!
I shouldn’t have bought my first hook since I’ve only used the tool maybe 20 times. I grab my pp4 before the hook nowadays.
Hopefully the coolant hasn't wicked up the wiring. Have seen that on a couple cars before. Should put new caps on the service ports also, since they are missing.😀
I was unable to get the sub harness but I did clean it out. 🤞🏼
Nice job pal
Thanks Corey. 🔧🔧🔧🔧👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Great video Chad! Are you getting the hook fixed?
Yes. I should have back any day now and then I will have to test it out. They were surprised when I told them the serial number. It’s a very early production unit.
What an interesting repair. I take it the 'water valve circuit' on the passenger side and driver side control solenoids that direct the flow of warm coolant back to the heater cores on each side?
First problem Lincoln LS, second problem Lincoln LS😉🤣🤣🤣
Lol I cut one of my rants about the the Lincoln LS because it took too long.
@@ThePracticalMechanic 😉 put it up as a separate video
Could that be the problem on my 1998 Continental my heat and A/C don’t work either and all the fuses are good I have radiator fluid and I tried recharging a/c valve reading that it’s full any Other suggestions
Wish there were more mechanics like you on youtube. I've got a 2005 Lincoln LS v6, and the fan want come on causing the car to overheat. The car comes with a self diagnostic by holding down the defrost and off at the same time then hit auto. It came up with 12 65 and 27 99 codes From what I noticed with the job on this video both of those codes were listed under hearter control vavle. Do you think its likely this is why the fan want come on?
My problem is I recently got into my 2005 Lincoln v6 and the whole a/c heat screen area in the inside is dark no power so I can't operate anything, radio works but heat defrost heated seats etc does not, I checked fuses and relays that look like they pertained to the a/c and don't seem to be blown but a point in the right direction would be appreciated as to what fuse it might be
I have not run into an issue like that before with the LS but the ford trucks and explorers do that when the control head fails. My normal practice is to pull the control panel out and check powers and grounds, if that is good the control panel is normally bad.
Sometimes it’s a bad soldering joint on the circuit board and if you wiggle the connector the controls will come back to life. If this happens you can try resoldering the connections or send it too someone that specializes in the repair.
I’m experiencing a very similar issue with my 04 LS 3.9, which I wanted to inquire how you flushed the heater core and which refrigerant did you use to re charge the system. Thank you!!
We have a cooling system flush tool that pulse air and water into the system to break up any debris and push it out. We flush the heater core both directions.
After having the ac system apart it is important to pull a vacuum on the entire system to remove air and moisture. I then recharge with r134a refrigerant.
Hey can you answer something for me I don’t know what the codes mean when I do a climent Diagnostic
Just wanted to see if perhaps you could maybe help me out in locating the low service port as well in an 05' Lincoln LS.
Hi my 2005 Lincoln ls a/c doesn’t blow hot or cold. But it does blow. When I ran the diagnostics it shows the code 12/64. Do you have any advice or could it be a lot of differing things.
I've got a 05 LS when I turn on the heater orA/C the ext temp says 79 I've got the other at 60 it stays hot all the time even while driving thanks
I have 2007 isuzu kb 300 lx
Heater and AC both not working
It's blowing normal air
I need help my ac and heat units won't turn on
Piece of crap LS ford's as Every owner has tons of issues especially with the Transmission control valve
