    I understand that the slicer for this K1 Max is based on Cura.
    My question is, are all the settings that I now have in Cura also accessible on the version for this printer?
    If I were to create a profile on the K1 slicer version and save that profile, would normal Cura be able to import it and it would work?

    Mine came in with a smashed door, creality got one on the way fast. I only have a couple complaints after printing about 100 hrs. It suffers from bowden jump, The fans are loud loud, and the overhead glass needed to be a bit taller to keep the cable chain from hitting. Other than my filament issue mine has put out some prints. Really, who designs a enclosed printer but then has a big square hole in the bottom right to allow for the touch screen?
    They been better off having either the screen as a separate unit plugged in to a port so the screen can be put aside and the door then be fully sealed no hole there,
    Or have the screen up on the top right of the outside frame on a bracket with the plug there to plug it into. so it is clear of the door area.
    I seen a few reviews of the K1 and the K1 Max. And I not impressed with the ongoing problems and bad design like the door hole for the screen!
    I most likely get the Bambu P1S instead of this K1 Max. I don't think Creality has really fixed the issues the 1st version had?
    Until I have saved up for the fast core xy enclosed Klipper type 3D printer I am after, I make d with the BTT Pad 7 I ordered and I be getting delivered Monday!

    If you're looking for this over the K1 or P1S/X1C, you're looking for build size. So the real question is, how does it stack up to the QIDItech X Max 3, which is $100 more, is 10% larger and has a heated enclosure?

    So I know the printer is all about speed, but my concern is quality of print. Id be willing to accept the so-so quality I keep seeing on a fast print. But I would like to know if the quality of prints is much better if you were to print more slowly. I suppose I'm hoping for a best of both worlds answer here. I have a fairly heavily moded ender 5 plus that delivers beautiful quality at like 80 mm/sec. So, Is the k1 max good fast and very good slow? Or are the slow prints the kinda so-so quality we see in the examples? Hope my question made sense. Thanks in advance!

    It seems in your review all the issues you pointed out had excuses attached to them. This may be an option for needing a bigger built plate only before Bambu Lab releases a bigger built plate unit most likely in 2024. Then Creality will rush to the Xerox copy machine to make yet another release of 3D printer in an all ready crowded Creality product line. In the prints you showed in my opinion they didn't look that impressive in quality.

    • @Forthecasuals
      @Forthecasuals 4 місяці тому

      I didn't hear any excuses, he made valid points about a couple quality control issues, and pointedly called out the sag and stringing issues on several prints, and he called out the AI failure to pick up on QC issues it was designed to detect. Maybe Bambu Labs can take you on a date or something, it sounds like you needed one.

    I saw one yesterday. Apparently, it's not the "1st release" version (or the demo on that is sent to companies to test), but a new one with certain issues fixed.
    I was talking to the guy at the store, standing right beside the Max. What caught my attention is just how quiet it is!
    Then, I looked at the print job going on and notices just how clean it looked.
    I noticed too that the extruder was flying back and forth at high speed. Apparently, this job was being printed at 150mms. I know that the machine can handle 600mms, supposedly, but for me, 150 is just fine!
    When looking at it, not knowing anything about it, I asked the guy the price, including taxes (out the door). I expected him to say something like $2,500 to $3,000! But nope.. MUCH MUCH LESS!
    The only 2 things that concern me are that the danged filament spool is at the rear of the machine. I guess that's addressable as the tubing can swing around to the side and there is a spool holder available that can be screwed onto the side where there are 3 screws already.
    The other thing, more of a concern, is how hot the stepper motors are, that are at the read.
    The guy, knowing this machine so well, did say that yes they are hot, but with the pre-release (test/demo) version they were much hotter and this was one of the things that Creality was supposed to address. I'm not sure that they did, however. I would think that a better idea would be to add some sort of surround over them with cool air from outside the machine, being pumped into the surround and back out to the outside. This would avoid air being pumped into the enclosure, cooling the inside and sucking in dust.
    Other than those 2 things, I'm seriously considering buying one and selling this damned Wanhao Duplicator 9, MK2 400... even though I do have it working very well now after a bunch of mods.

    • @RoseKindred
      @RoseKindred 9 місяців тому +1

      For a first printer, depending on how skilled you are with electronics in general, I recommend something else. That machine is 800 USD before all the mandatory and extras. You can get similar quality for less. Elegoo is releasing neptune 4 pro, which is what I will be getting, but there is also ankermake m5-whatever, if you want 2 machines that are easy to put together. E has great CS but a little slow, 1 business day. When I questioned about a resin I got they tracked down the lot, batch, and expire numbers for me, as an example.
      If you want a "plug and play" machine at the same costs the bambu p1p/s machines are worth it for PLA and are cheaper. Heck, even the X1C without AMS is roughly the same, so you can print ASA/PETG if you want to.
      I'm sure there are more machines, but these are some quick ones I found for better value. The E-N4P is easier to put together than my first machine, the 2NP from a few years ago, and I have limited hand movements and never built a machine before.

    Tell me Bamboo pays you a lot more than Creality without telling me they pay you a lot. So bias and you never mention Bamboo direct upload to CCP servers of everything you try to print.

    No, it's not good. I bought one and STRONGLY advise against getting one: quality contron is non-existent, print quality is worse than my €250 printer, many failed prints, maintenace is a pain in the back and it's not noissy, the noise levels are infernal.
