Finally a video where the technician actually shows how to get the reverse going by making a video of his left hand hand grip. I have been racking my brains out trying to figure it out for months. They don't explain how to do this in the service manual either. I don't suppose that you have a video on how to set the meter on a 2005 Honda Foreman 500 ES???
Just checked mine and that's the problem. Do you have to drain the oil to replace that switch? Do you have the part number for the switch? I've looked through pages and pages but can't find it on the parts breakdown.
Thanks, the connector to my neutral sensor was not making a good connection. Just unhooked it, tightened the connector, cleaned it up, hooked it back up and problem solved!
Hey, i have this problem where on my kymco mxu 250 it uses a safety where you need to pull the left brake to be able to shift (its a cvt) but sometimes yoo have to pull the right brake which isn't supposed to be pulled. Any advice?
I Have Almost the Same Quad but Mine Is a Honda 350 Rancher 2005 Foot shift and the Only Thing I Had Wrong With It Was the Starter and the tire rod (Because I broke it When Mudding With Friends) and it Needs a Rebuild Because it’s Backfiring But I Love it
Hello, there is a problem on my 2008 Honda trx250tm ES fourtrax. the indicator on the display shows a different position compared to the position on the gearbox. for example on the screen it says that the gearbox is in first gear, but the gearbox is actually in neutral and the green light for neutral does not light up. when I press the small handle and the button down to put it in reverse, the green light for neutral comes on and the gearbox is in reverse gear. I note that I can't get the letter R on the screen at all. I changed the angle sensor but everything is the same. Does anyone have a solution?
They told me at the Honda shop it's a neutral sensor, not a reverse sensor. Great video. Fixed my problem. No more pushing. Thank you very much.

you have to have a good strong battery to make it shift...weak battery will cause a no shift situation...been there done that.
would the atv shift into reverse using the manual shift before you changed the switch
What would you do if that connector that goes onto it got ripped out somewhere and its not there? What the part called for that wire?
THANK YOU VERY MUCH, TESTED AND THE SWITCH WAS BAD, THANKS AGAIN
This is only TRX350FE .. The TRX450FE has the reverse sensor switch on the handlebars next to the rear brake lever ..
My 350 es has the same setup and it won’t go into reverse I’ve had it 16 years and now it won’t go into reverse
very informative and to the point.
Thank you very much for your helpful video. I bought a used 04 ES honda foreman doing this same thing. I'm going to try this repair. Awesome work!
Brig T did it work?
