Hi man, miss your videos, hope you are ok and have the willpower to play some more 7wonders :D Question: I am sitting around 350 elo and generally doing ok in games, but i always struggle with babylon. Does this wonder suck? should i go green most of the time, cuz its hard starting with wood to get all symbols, or even 2. Could you explain babylon in 1-2 games for old times sake? :D no pressure, just asking lol
Isn't it better to pick clay on 1st era 2nd hand because there is only 1 clay and 2 wood and ore that u can take on next hands or wheel? And we have free stage too.
Good quesiton, I'm not a fan of picking double clay to play 1st wonder for free as 3 clays are not that useful. Gold is a resource and we can use it to fulfill our strategic goal. Our strategic goal here is to be in position to play most reds. Reds in 2nd age in 4 player game are: [Wood, Wood, Ore], [Wood, Ore, Clay], [Ore, Ore, Wood] & [Triple stone]. With access to 1st stage Carravansery it's very easy for us to be able to buy the first one for free, all we need is Ore, Wood and 1st stage. Clay doesn't come to play until age 3.
@@WonderfulPlays Thanks for answering, i considered the triple clay thing but it is not literally true cause one of our three clay is a caravan and one is a clay/stone, paying 2 golds for clay can result in a must discard turn/vineyard/bazaar and we lose one tempo in this scenario, with that clay we can likely play the game with only the 3 starting golds, if someone gonna pay us is points for us and minus points for them, gold is resource but points and tiebreaker too, the other thing is that in first era there are 2 ores and 2 woods so we can pick them in 3rd or 4th pick or on the wheel pick, and take clay off giza and babilon is good too, giza will be forced to use a turn to pick double clay in second age and pass us something. In the end dunno is though decision.
You have to also consider that by giving money away people have money to pay it back and I would even argue that if you pick clay early to not have to throw it's like you are throwing that clay right away. Wood is not that likely to even get to you in higher level games. There are 2 but it's the first resource picked by almost everyone, because of school, caravansery and the reds.
@@WonderfulPlays Good point, in this case babilon has wood itself so only 2 players can pick it, giza and probably babilon are not that much interested in ore too, if have to go to 0 golds to build stage i cant buy double woods/ore. Got ur point that if u get ore and wood and stage u have free access to 3/4 of the reds that are usually core build for alex.

One frustrating thing for me with this game, if im playing lets say a 4 player game, is when I sort of feel forced to take more than one green card, because another player is clearley going for the green-card-strategy, just because NO ONE ELSE takes a single green card. This game looked like that happend a little bit. So my questino is, what do you do in thoose situations?
People can bury also, but if you are playing a 4 player game and 2 other players don't realize how it should be strategically played, yet it will be awkward no matter what. It is a 4 player interactive game, other players can ruin the experience at least a little bit
What other basic strategy tips would you give to new players?
Windmill slam the caravansary was the first lesson my family learned after "don't let one person go green" :D

Babylon can be one of the hardest wonders, I will eventually make some videos but no promises on the timeline
