- How to replace the reverse light switch in a Peugeot 307 from years 2001 to 2008. If your reverse light doesn’t work and you’ve changed the bulbs and checked all the connections and it still isn’t working, it’s possible that this switch may have failed. The switch type is a Febi Bilstein 37346 and costs about €20 euros, but there are other brands of switches that are also compatible. The torque setting for the switch is 25 Nm (18 foot pounds). Good video. My Renault Trafic is much the same. It's a Royal pain to have to remove the battery and tray to replace the switch!
Thanks for watching !
When I put mine into reverse, the reverse light comes on and so does the fog light on the other side. If I switch the fog light on normally. It doesn’t work. Any idea what this problem could be? I didn’t realise that this was the reverse light switch. I remember getting it drenched a couple times when bleeding the coolant system, because my bleed screw is just above the reverse switch. Peugeot 307 xsi 2.0 16v
That's unusual, it sounds like a wiring issue
Genious !
Thanks :)
Which model 307 is the one in the video? I have a 2005 307 1.6 16Valve 80KW 5 speed manual.
This was a 2004 307 1.4 petrol 16 valve 5 speed manual
The image is so explicit that a note should be left...
The black rubber cap, just beside it. It's the gearbox breather point.
When replacing the gearbox oil. Instead of struggling to fill it by the side of the gearbox. This point make it way easier to do so. Ideally it should be timed with the battery tray removal, to save some extra work. Kind of, while you're in there... ;-)
Thanks for the tip !. I'll remember that when I'm changing the gearbox oil :)
Hey ur video is great i have a peugeot 307 2002 110ch 1.6 AUTOMATIC is the reverse light switch at the same location?
Thanks, I'm not sure about the automatic to be honest, I've never seen one
Do you have to do different settings/codes after you put back the battery?
If you're stereo is coded you might have to re-enter the code when you connect the battery.
Is the same for 307cc as only one of the side of the reverse light is working and I swapped the bulbs and only the same side kept working so I guess it's not the bulb, right?
On the Peugeot 307 there's only a reverse light on one side of the car. The matching bulb on the other side is the rear fog light :)
You can check out the different bulbs here: ua-cam.com/video/C4_JZxhXtBQ/v-deo.html
Hi, is this process for Peugeot partner as well. Changing the reverse switch. Thanks
I haven't worked on a Peugeot Partner but I expect it would be very similar
Many thanks
Is 07 Peugeot partner 1.6 hdi in the same location
I'm not sure but it's probably quite similar
What torque value did you use?
It should be 25 Nm (18 foot pounds)
a person who cannot measure torque then Shouldn't do the replacement?
Is 308 the sa e location
It depends on the type of transmission. It will be similar to this, but probably not exactly the same
Automatic transmission?
I havent worked on one, sorry.
