@CarefreeChris i spit into a sewer in 2019. I received a fine. Fine was basically said for jaywalking. I was told to just pay. I think it was like 400 PHP. I said why doesn't say spitting. i was driving from cabanatuan through manila to batangas. police had a check point everybody else went through but they saw a white guy and pulled me to the side. they confiscated my dl . said i crossed a double yellow line. it was non existant. said i could get my dl back on monday at the office and the fine was 5k peso. ( later i learned from family the fine was 600 peso). it was friday evening. i asked if i could pay the fine there and get dl back. he said yes. so i handed over 5k. he saw that i had money so was 1k more to get dl back. he put the money in his shirt pocket and i was free. all with 6 or 7 other cops watching. so basically i got robbed by the police. wish i had a camera.

I was in Manila a couple of months ago. Not driving, but sitting beside the driver, who was pulled over by a traffic enforder for a stupid reason. He had to surrender his license. But - the driver had a family member working at the NBI. So he called his cousin and explained the situation. Then he handed the phone over to the enforcer and I could only hear him responding: "Opo, sige po, pasensiya po.... " returning the phone and the license with an apology.
I also had wished at that time that I had brought my camera.

Cebu Shity is a horrible place to drive. A city of almost no left turns. If you don't know the city, you can get easily lost figuring out, how to get to the left side without going a long detour. One way is to drive past the forbidden left turn a couple of hundred meters and do a U-turn, hopefully out of sight of the watchful eyes of the cops, and then go back and turn right. This worked for me after 2 tickets (one for not wearing a helmet).

You can even recall your registration Of your Honda (and other brands) online from the LTO registry, where each driver has his own account. Here you can recall your license, OR, CR etc. Very handy, if you forgot to bring your DL or the papers. But you may not forget your cellphone too or forget to buy load to access the mobile internet.

Here in Bohol they only say that when they are nearing someones house and they say that to get someone to come out, or when at a sari sari store and the person is not visible. Sige is a term of agreement. For example you suggest to your friends to visit Chris tonight and plunder his fridge. As sign of agreeing to the idea they say "sige".
In Tagalog is the term "sige na", when somebody wants to urge you into accepting something. Possible translation: "come on", "get going" etc. Example: Your friends want you to join them tonight to plunder Chris' fridge, but you are still hesitant.
