Fun fact, previous bassist, Dominic Lapointe is a beast, you see him in any band and you know the bass will be the best part of the song.
First Fragment anyone!? 😝
@@Whosagoodboi Absolutely! Jaw breaking stuff!!
By the way gloire éternelle is easly one of my high favourite albums ever 🔥
Naw
We can not disagree that Hugo's work in Equipoise was also terrifying
Everyone's going crazy over the bassist and i'm here like "Damn that drummer plays clean as hell"
Every member in the band is insane.
You like Archspire, don't you? No surprise these guys blew your hat off. They're one of the best Canadian techdeath metal exports.
Obviously he does, because in the talking after the song, there's Archspire playing in the background :D
First fragment!!!
@@daveydally1257 amen dude. First fragment is out of this world.
They do neuraxis damn proud
Oh hell yeah! Technical death metal legends!🤘🏼🔥❤
Check out Omnipresent Perception, Coexistence, Fundamental Process as well.💁🏻♂️
All of these tracks are sick.
Loved your reaction! I recommend you reacting to "Obscura - Akroasis", is a MUST if you loved Beyond Creation! :D
Beyond is a much more cohesive band in is musical purpose , more focus on a melody and overall song ….obscura is great but most of the time they sound like every menber is playing there own version of the same song
@@leoguzman1851 thats a very accurate Description of Obscura
ooooh great record
Dude! You’ve been doing a lot of tech and prog lately, yes please! These dudes melt faces, been listening for a bit, lots of atmosphere and vibe with off the charts musicianship.
Also, dude! Fallujah in the intro? I see you too are a man of culture!
Love me some Fallujah!
Tank, what have you done to me, I can’t stop listening to this band now, I have found a new bass god to worship lol. Thank you so much for this video man.
Hell yeah! 🤘
@@TankTheTech I stumbled upon this band years back & honestly I was so excited over how heavy, tight & technical they were on there material, Oh yeah that bassist tho...I knew the joy he would give you😁
On a side note my all time favorite band I'm talking mad love just worship them is ACID BATH as they are super unique there's no others out that are or could be what they brought to the table, lyrically & musical structure, they were very much an underground band having no industry help & they were a short lived band as for only putting out two CD's through Rotten Records before breaking up after a member was killed by a drunk driver. Check them out, the singer Dax Riggs voice is one of a kind.
That blast beat is one of the most beautiful blasts of all time.
One thing you forgot to mention is that Beyond Creation's bassist is also always fretless - he has fret markers but the neck is completely smooth 😊
That blast beat was so well used.... fit the flow of the song so well and didn't overstay it's welcome.
My girlfriend made me food.
I looked at the clock and noticed it was Tank time!
I took my plate and went to the living room to watch.
Just over 11 minutes later, the food was untouched in front of me.
I was confused and the first sentence was what a f *** was that !!?🤯
This band was the first time for me too, but not the last 🤘💪👍
Hey, welcome to my neck of the woods Tank! (I'm from Montreal)
Beyond Creation has been one of the latest band out of Quebec to gain worldwide recognition, after legendary acts such as Voivod, Gorguts, Cryptopsy, Kataklysm, Quo Vadis, Neuraxis and others paved the way.
The metal scene is so rich out here, kinda makes me proud! haha
And now I just remembered how much I miss live shows... 😭
These guys are flawless and MIND-BLOWING on stage! I had the chance to see them a few times. Unfortunately it's hard to find a decent live video, I don't think they have any pro-shot (DVD quality) yet.
Most of the guys have multiple other projects worth exploring like: Equipoise, First Fragment and Brought by Pain!
Thanks for this reaction! 🤘
They're just as incredible live. Was so fortunate enough to catch them still with Forest on bass and before their first album was out. Incredible.EDIT: also check out Augury if you want more of this. Forest is also in that band and they're at the heart of this style of the Quebec Tech Death scene (and have been since the 90s)
So happy to see them pop up on your channel! They’re one of my favorite bands, and they are just as incredible, if not more so, live. They are all super humble and chill dudes, and chatting with them after their set made me appreciate them even more.
If you’re wanting to see something with Forest on bass, “Omnipresent Perception” is a great song to check out next
About a year ago I saw these guys play their newest album front to back in a local dive bar.... They were amazing live and didn't miss a note!
They’re so incredibly clean live it’s scary.
This is why I check your great channel. To discover new great band. An Beyond Creation became one my fav quickly... Thx man...
This band are just insanely talented! Knew you would dig the bass player 🤘
I mean... everyone does
Seeing your joy brought tears to my eyes. I introduced Beyond Creation to a few friends, then we got to meet the band in Denver. They were amazing. They even noticed me in the crowd and Simon said "you're the guy who knew all the riffs!"
Absolutely amazing people and otherworldly musicians
First Time for me too on this video...amazing... completely blown away...thx!
Forest did a bass playthough of Omnipresent Perception. It's a MUST watch!
And yeah, it's exactly the same live! ;)
Hell yea great video, Beyond Creation is one of my favorite metal bands man they are so sick.
Awesome! They are definitely one of the top bands on my list. I heard you playing Fallujah in the background, I'm gonna check and see if you have any reactions to them...But first I'm gonna watch your Rivers of Nihil reaction. Loving the channel.
Cannot believe how dry a tone they're using. Not sure I'd throw this on a playlist, but I can certainly fucking admire what they're doing.
If you liked this, you should check out Obscura (band) - Akroasis (song)
Was a about to suggest the same =)
Yes definitely!
I was about to recommend the same
Nice find, hadn't heard of them before, definitely going to check them out. Not usually a huge fan of the growling/death vocals, but some groups like Between the Buried and Me, Ne Obliviscarus and a few others help me get past those to appreciate the amazing songwriting and musicianship and these guys were certainly one of them. If you're looking to branch out a bit at some point (which I'd love to see), may I recommend, Frost* - Exhibit A? Though I'm a fan of almost all genre's excluding hard core country and gangsta rap :), Prog is my mainstay and Frost has easily been the best new Prog band on the scene in the last decade. Thanks!
1. I was completely entranced: the sound, the imagery. I was late logging back into to work because I was too busy like “what in the hell...”
2. That bassist is RIDICULOUS!
3. Instantly looked them up and added them to my Spotify playlist.
Love your reaction! 🖤Can't wait to see "Fundamental process" on your channel.
Jaw hanging slight hint of drool... no head banging... mind blown Fan mission accomplished.
The bassist making you feel like an idiot was like first time reaction . " My ears Are idiots" what have been listening to before this....
This was a fun one to watch. I like seeing you flabbergasted. Lol. Reminds me of when you watched Awakening by UTA!
Edit: And they are both Canadian!
I know I am coming here late af. Long story short, answering your question: I have seen them live several times. Live performance is as MASTER as recording (no playbacks or tracks going on in the background). Beyond Creation is THAT impressive.
Phenomenal track. It really is face melting talent. Appreciate your willingness to explore around the edges brother.
Love these guys. Seen them a couple times live and they sound great. Last October I had a training for work in Boston and as soon as the plane landed and Facebook notified me they had a show with Fallujah that week. Needless to say I bought tickets and went. Glad I did show was awesome.
Wow the raw talent of this band is mind blowing to me! Lol the musicianship is absolutely incredible 👏.. love it. Thanks again tank
This an amazing reaction, probably most of the metal fans had this type of reaction when they discovered Beyond Creation.
On the other note, you should definitely check out anything from Obscura. But for begining the best picks would be Akroasis, Emergent Evolution or Septuagint. And when you do a reaction video, then listne to the whole discography, chronologically, because the 'main' four albums are conceptual, and form a bigger picture(in order: Cosmogenesis, Omnivium, Akroasis, Diluvium).
You'll enjoy them as much as Beyond Creation, trust me!
I'd love for you to check out the bass playthrough for 'Gula" by this band - the whole thing is a crazy shredfest for the dude, the name's Dominic Lapointe
Dominic Lapointe Gula Bass Playthrough
A really good live video by the band is Fundamental Process
... uhhh... What? I watched the whole thing, yet still feel like it went over my head. Sooo much happening all at once. Virtuosic performances from every guy in that band. WTF, mate...
I'm going to have to listen to that a few more times just to be able to digest it.
I love BC, they are killer live too! :)
There are a lot of bands who are crazy technical: A Novelist, Alterbeast, Alkaloid, Allegaeon, Abnormal Thought Patterns, Archspire, Black Crown Initiate, First Fragment, Obscura, Rivers of Nihil, Spawn of Possession (still my favourites), The Ritual Aura, Where Deprivation Lies, basically all bands on The Artisan Era label: Arkaik, Dark Matter Secret, Enfold Darkness, Equipoise, Flub, Immanifest, Inanimate Existence, Inferi, Mordant Rapture, The Odious Construct, Oubliette, Singularity, Spectrum of Delusion, Symbolik and Virulent Depravity to name most
Kinda torn on this one. I have never been one to sit through a whole song with growling and/or vocal fry, but the incredible skill & talent of each one of these musicians with their respective instruments was mind blowing.
Kind of where I am. Their musicianship is over the top!!!
Musical talent is exactly how I got into death metal. I couldn't stand the vocals at first but Trivium (the Ascendancy album, circa 2005 - when I was a 13 year old guitarist and drummer) are what got me into metal and, subsequently, technical death metal.
Music is what counts
And thats how it starts! The music really is impressive and I have started in recent years to appreciate the vocals for the compliments they offer the music. bringing emotion to particular parts. (for reference i have been listening to deathcore since around 2007) and i only just now realized you can almost drown out the screams. but eventually you will get used to them. Check out the band "periphery" if you havent heard of them. maybe more your style
Nice discovery. I didnt know about them at all.
Glad you're checking smaller, lesser known bands (not necessarly heavily requested in the comments). It allows us, you audience, to discover some hidden gems like that... and gives me hope you might check the smaller, lesser known band I've been clamoring for you to check so often that I wont even bother to name them here. :)
But for now... fuck yeah, that was absolutely insane ! I got a new band to delve into and discover their whole discography !
ohh you will love it
Ohhhhhhhh boy!! Let's Goooooooo!!
Dude! So glad you discovered this band. I love them - I discovered them a few years ago. I have very clear memories of it - my son was in hospital at the time and I slept overnight at the hospital listening to their album “The Aura” on repeat all night. I saw them live in Sydney last year, and man, they were awesome - never missed a beat, and the singer is a really funny laid back dude. They topped Ne Obliviscaris for me, who also played that night. Anyhow, I won’t send you my crappy live shot phone recordings... and by the way, loved hearing Spawn of Possession as your background outro music. I would love to see someone react to them.... or even just do an analysis piece on The Evangelist or Where Demons Go...
Holy shit, they toured with Ne Obliviscaris? WHY WASNT I THERE?!!?
@@Growlizing there was a sort of mini-death feat at Manning Bar a few years ago.. Beyond Creation, NeO, Alleagaein, Rivers of Nihil, Caligula’s Horse... it was awesome...
Still having hopes to see you do Watain , Great reaction! This was a good song i havnt heard before.
Duuude, those guys slay. Had the pleasure to see them live together with Virvum, another fantastic band in the technical death metal field.
i had a similar discovery and saw these in London a few months later. Took earplugs for the first time to really focus. They really, really are just as good live. it's mind bending
Awesome band! Awesome reaction! 🤘🏻👍🏻
Still waiting for your reaction to Ensiferum 😉...
G'day Tank. After Rush... anything from Canada is probably Gold! I bet, if Chase rvs this, he makes a quip about the stellar hair conditioning job. 😄 Cheers.💖
Got the chance to see these guys about a year ago and my god the sound is EXACTLY the same if not better
Also you should definitely check out Brought By Pain (specifically the session video of Crafted by Society). Simply incredible musicians
I love watching your reaction, greeting from Indonesia 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
I just saw this song live (front row) recently and let me tell you something: IT PACKS TOO MUCH PUNCH!!! it has too much mojo!!!
What a band I have just discovered! Thank you Tank!
🤘🤘🤘
as a beyond creation fan, i found them years ago and got to see them live, yeah they are just like this live. i do not have a video but personal experience.
If you dont know these bands already, check out Revocation, Disentomb, Wormed, Equipoise, Defeated Sanity, Gorguts, Fallujah, Allegaeon (check out their acoustic stuff by guitarist Gregg, really beautiful).
Never heard of these guys before either. Incredible! Here's a link to official video concert footage of their song "Coexistance" (ua-cam.com/video/yW3g1kblCk4/v-deo.html). Another great song showcasing their talents.
Really like your reactions, videos were made with love! :-)
It's the infamous Weird Guitar Band!
Fallujah and Archspire 😏😏😏 I see you are a man of culture!
Seen them play the full algorythm album on their tour in Hamburg - and it's just unreal how insanely precise they were!
Canadian Metal Rules! Although no longer together, check out 3 Inches of Blood - Night Marauders.
It's great how Tank's shocked looks through the vid resembling a deer in the headlights.😲😳
That’s how I felt, too.
For another group of talented musicians you must watch - Eluveitie - Inis Mona, live at Rockpalast 2019 or the official video.
Hurdy-gurdy in a melodic death folk metal band anyone?
I like Eluveitie and Inis Mona is actually the one song I’ve heard no less than 100 times. 🤘
@@TankTheTech Awesome! Eluveitie needs more love!
Some other good folk metal I'll recommend then, let try Mongolian: "Ego Fall - Wind the Horn" or "Tengger Cavalry - War Horse" (2012 album version)
Tengger Cavalry worked on the game soundtracks for Civilization IV and Doom Eternal. Sadly the front man of the band died last year, tragic because the band is go amazing! Worthy of some coverage.
@@TankTheTech Beyond Creation is most definitely a truckload to take in all real time HAHA, I myself was so excited the first time for me years ago.
Thank you for making me revisit this song!
Forgot how absolutely merciless the second half of this track was, it’s an absolute ass kicker!
Also If I may recommend another band you might did as well
Spawn of Possession - Where Angels go Demons follow
These guys are the absolute CEOs of making super complex songwriting and over the top Extreme Metal technique feel relaxing, even on their faster, heavier tracks.
Also: Please react to Unprocessed - Abandoned.
they just straight up look like your average line cooks or like internet installing technicians
Makes me proud to be Canadian ohhhhh yuuuuurrrr
O HOOOORAY!!! Someone finally did Beyond Creation!!! LOVE THEM!!
please check out: BEYOND CREATION - THEATRICAL DELLIRIUM
and COEXISTENCE & The Afterlife
i love how you give factual information during the video, bro you give the best react videos in my opinion B)
This made me question everything I’ve ever heard before. This was a mind blowing experience. They didn’t even have to put lyrics in it.It was like a space exploration.🤯🤘🏼
Tank, if you wanna check out live performance from Beyond Creation, look for In Adversity live. I saw some others but the audio kinda effed up.
That is a live video. Sadly there is not a great live recording of them so far.
That was great!!! Between you and Chase I am discovering that Canada, while I was hiding under a rock, has been spawning METAL GREATS!!! I think all the cold must be concentrating all the talent...
Quebec's metal scene is particularly good!!
We have an illustruous metal scene, Sandra.
Pretty sure Montreal is still a huge metal town, Toronto at least used to be. I remember Slayer opening for Warrant or someone like that in TO way back in the mid-80s, and then the headliner being mercilessly booed because the audience was mostly there for Slayer, lol.
@@iDEATH Yes, Montreal still is :P
They are amazing live. Literally my favorite band.🤘
5:38 yeah, the part with the really soft blast beats tripped me out too
These guys are great! Another awesome reaction Tank!
You have to give Allegaeon a listen! Those guys are uber talented as well. Here is a link to their full band playthrough of Gray Matter Mechanics!
ua-cam.com/video/tu-NvEec8y8/v-deo.html
I like your reactions!
"Me: You cannot make a metal song about bees..
Amorphis: Hold my beer......"
So... next reaction for you. Amorphis - The Bee (official lyric) ;) Only Amorphis can make a metal song about bees,
their song are usually based on Finnish mythology and the Finnish national Epic Kalevala.
Them and Archspire best bands to see live imo
great reaction, at some point I thought my computer was frozen! lol Anyways, you can't go wrong with Season of mist bands, they have really great and technical bands... And oceans..., Carach Angren, The Great Old Ones, Solstafir, Septifesh to name a few
Absolutely love this band. They had one of the cleanest live performances I’ve ever seen from a metal band. Guitars and bass didn’t miss a note and the vocals were surprisingly clear. 10/10 recommend. I’m a pit guy, and I just watched in aw their whole set.
I get emotional, just by the fact that someone else reacts positively and likes the music I love
Enjoyed the information you provided like usual, and loved the bands sound but not those style of vocals, if that makes sense. Looking forward to your next reaction. Have a good one!
I've been playing bass for 27 years and Dominic Forrest LaPointe makes me look like I just picked up the instrument yesterday. FYI the gentleman in this video is Hugo Doyon-Karout an awesome musician, but Dominic is on another level.
And yes they can do all of it live. Saw them on a business trip to Minneapolis.
Thanks for this song... They are fk..talented... 🤘🤘🤘
I watched these guys live back in 18, they are just as good live. Ended up with a black knee after the moshpit, it was worth it
I said the exact same thing about the blast beat like wtf that was the most random time to start blasting but it was perfect at the same time lol
I messaged the guitarist a few times and would like to think I played a part in them coming to New Orleans for the first time about 10 years ago. Seen em 3 times and they’re always great
Off with their heads!
Guitars that is... I don't think I have ever seen an entire band playing exclusively headless guitars/ bass. huh.
Math metal that didn't get boring 1/2 through. I loved it!
indeed it didn't, it was boring from the get-go! :V
Beyond Creation's creations are beyond creation.
There is another Jinjer performance to react to. Tatiana did a one take performance and blew it away. Judgement (and punishment)
Check out "Quo Vadis - Silence Calls the Storm (live)" .. it's a progressive/technical melodic-death metal band, also from Quebec, featuring Beyond Creation's former bassplayer Dominic "Forest" Lapointe. Even if you don't do a video on it it's definitely worth a listen!
season of mist is becoming one of my favorite labels... so much good stuff lately.
I think you'd love their song Coexistence
the calmest blast beat i'v ever heard
The I have a big recommendation for you. It’s a band from Lebanon called The Room. They managed to hire Mike Mills (Toehider, Ayreon), Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon), a whole symphonic orchestra and some other well known musicians for their album Ostura.
DAMN! I'm intruiged!
That was a pretty neat track, great musicians, fabulous finger work. Never heard of them either. Thanks for the reaction.
Fleshgod Apocalypse - Sugar A neat track..
after this you should watch Septicflesh - The Vampire from Nazareth (official live video) 2020
its really good :)
Sooo good!!
Saw them live, they played the whole new (2018) algorithm album... they can do it no problem. Also, most of their videos are cut together live appearances (of course not the audio) they always record when touring. Maybe more songs by them? "Theatrical Delirium" is amazing. But really there is not a bad one (aside from Omnipresent Perception IMO). Also, it is a fretless bass (frets are just drawn on for orientation).
This is one of my favorite bands and I've been a fan for over 10 years, since before they got signed. They were also the last band I got to see live before the world went to shit. I adore the bassist but the guy he replaced is actually my favorite bassist. I don't know if you've checked out his new band, but First Fragment is neo-classical tech death and absolutely killer. I love watching other people love the things that I love. I knew I wasn't crazy, this band is amazing!!!!
Ive seen them live and they are spot on best concert ive ever been to
As a metal head and guitarist who also “kicks ass” at Dungeons and Dragons, can confirm, they do look like they play D&D for sure.
You should really check out some obscura. They are in the same genre and are also geniuses at their instrument.
Obscura - Perpetual infinity
Obscura - Septuagint
Thank you for that! They are a new find for me as well now.
Something along those gloriously shredy lines (but also with a ton of emotion and feel) that you may enjoy is Angel Vivaldi. He has a number of pretty awesome videos (ua-cam.com/video/qFWoIyqSjlA/v-deo.html), but also a bunch of more intimate sit down playthroughs (ua-cam.com/video/LdacAZ7RXWU/v-deo.html).
So I noticed the bass player is playing a Kiesel Bass, its the company that took over Carvin Bass, and one of my favorite Basses, not to mention, as you said, he made me feel like I just didn't try hard enough or something...sooo good, great reaction!
this is the specific bass he is playing, obviously custom :) www.kieselguitars.com/catalog/guitars/vbm6
