This week, Jamin and Carl are bringing out the Tier decks and pit Amulet Titan against Urza's Cookbook.
Don't forget to comment the decklists you would like to have us play next week and please press the like video and/or subscribe if you want to support this type of content. If we can see more views on paper gameplay than our other videos, we can then start putting the resources into doing more than one a week. These take days to make but we have so much fun making them!

Carl: Kills one Prime Time
Jamin: HE’S KILLING TITANS LEFT AND RIGHT
Kill line for Game 3: Float 1 mana from Saga before you get the Amulet with it. Play SGC bounce SGC -> 5 floating. Tap all lands except Hanweir -> 9 floating. Transmute TWest and play Titan -> no more mana floating. Get Twest and SGC from Titan trigger -> float 6 mana and bounce TWest. Transmute twest for Dryad and play dryad -> 0 mana floating. Play Valakut with the dryad land drop and hast your titan with the untapped hanweir. Attack and get some more Valakuts to finish of the game.
You can't transmute for Dryad, CMC 0 only :/
That would be sick though
@@DrPepsidewWBO I was just shortcutting. You get a Summoners pact with the Transmute. With the pact you then get the Dryad.
@@Kerosh01 just gotta be careful with the players tryna learn the deck, don't want someone to misplay but for sure
I absolutely love how you guys explain the decks and your thought process while playing it. Please keep this format! It is AWESOME!! Thank you!
Very good.
I think Jamie played too fair: min 10ish, he played a second Titan tutoring for 2 valakut. He could get 1 valakut and 1 bounce land. Add mana and bounce urza’s saga, cast dryad of ilyasian, play saga, kill asmo. Game over
See, that's why I asked for advice 😅 I'm a novice Titan player
@@jaminkauf6242 What you did I don’t think was totally incorrect, but you gave Carl another turn. I am an advocate for sunhome fortress and slayer’s stronghold as Titan can win the game out of nowhere but I understand that the mana base might be worse.
Or there was also the line, after playing 1st titan (Asmo eats all food, so there is no real response his opponent might have open):
tutor 2 bounce lands (he found one), add 8 mana. Make them bounce themselves (he still has 4 lands in play)
play dryad (5 mana left). Play additional bounce land for the turn (9 mana left). Make it bounce itself.
play the second titan getting 2 Valakuts (3 mana left + 4 red). He has 6 lands in play and dryad, so 4 triggers bring his opponent to 8.
play Azusa and make his last land drop this turn. 2 more triggers, so his opponent is at 2, or at 5 and has no Asmo. Either way, he does have enough mana open next turn to not lose to the pact and he can win the game with a single land drop.
T4 win :)
EDIT: you can play 4 lands in one turn with both Azusa and Dryad, so it's a T3 win :)
He could have taken simic growth Chambers instead of tolaria Back to Hand Play for 3 of the 6 Mana his azusa put Chambers unto Play 2 Times making 8 Mana so He has 11 Mana than Play dryad having 8 Mana Play Chamber again having 12 Mana everything ist mountain Than Tutor Titan 2 Play him search valakut and Chamber bounce tolaria search with that new 3 Mana Titan number 3 Play him search valakut 2 and vesuva Shooting 24 DMG in that turn t 3 win
He shoots 6 with Titan Nr 2 and 18 with Titan Nr 3
In game 3 if my understanding is correct before you sacrificed Urza's Saga you could have floated a colorless mana into your main phase since the tick up happens after your draw step. I also believe that if you had done that AND you were running boros garrison, Slayers Stronghold, and Sunhome, he would have had to have blocked to survive.
i was looking for this comment
he has game if he taps the urzas saga doesnt need slayers or boros garrison,
ill copy paste the line for lethal if your curious, i posted it in another comment
Game 3 You had lethal, in a fairly convuluted way, but it did exist!! float 1 with urzas saga and get amulet, do everything the same as you had done until you played titan, because you have 1 extra mana from the urzas saga (since in video you didnt tap for the free colorless) you can tap all lands except hanweir
Now you have untapped hanweir, no floating mana, and titan on the stack (4 lands in play)
titan triggers gets you your second tolaria west and gruul turf (could be any tap land that gives u 2 mana and at least green and bounces something)
tap tolaria twice for 2 blue and gruul turf twice for 2 red/2green
gruul bounce back tolaria west, (5 lands in play)
tolaria west using 1 red and 2 blue, get another summoners pact ( 1 red 2 green floating)
summoners pact gets dryad of the ilysian
play dryad (floating no mana), play valacut from hand, floating 2 red and shoot him for 3 in the face (6 lands and dryad makes them all mountains) hes at 10
use 1 red to give titan haste,
attack with 6 power titan and 2 power green creature, titan trigger activates
get 1 valacut and any land, first both valacuts trigger twice and deal 12 to his face for lethal
you could have also got vesuva and dealt additional damage if for some reason it was needed
and if you didnt have the valacut in hand, but another red source, you could still get 4 valacut triggers with the titan attack putting him to 1 and attacking with titan and your green boi, he has 1 blocker so youre guaranteed to connect with at least 1 damage (this is also assuming vesuva isnt an option)
The line for lethal in game 3 is play Slayer's Stronghold in your deck
I love that😂
Carl and Jamin are the best Cardmarket Teammembers. It s really untertaining to see them battle each other 🇩🇪
Thank you so much for continuing the series :))
You guys had a bunch of fun. Great game
Alright, Suggestions. First of all, LANDS (/Reclaimer) as previously suggested. The deck is a whole lot of fun. Otherwise, Grixis Shadow is quite fun and interesting and Eldrazi Tron has not been suggested yet, I think.
Please keep making videos. This was sincerely helpful in my legacy modern paper mashups
A Naya lands list with Elvish Reclaimer, Wrenn and Six, and Titania seems really cool
I second this
I third this, it is my go to deck right now!
Building it as well but the wrenn and six are so expensive.
@@Taragon85 in paper or in MTGO online? hhahaha they are both $$$
@@alext.1244 in mtgo they are way out of my rental limit. And in paper they are expensive as well.
And again ty 4 this great video! I m learning much about modern
Amulet vs Urza that is very meta :D
Maybe it is time not to play magic by playing dredge
Dredge!
Still waiting for that looting or GGT unban with so many good graveyard hate now 🥲
More like urza's Saga Vs urza's saga
Just discovered the videos and I love them! They're very entertaining. Hope to see them continue. As for a deck to play, how about goblins?
Guess I'll keep advocating gifts storm. Still my favourite deck and I'd love to see you guys running it.
Glimpse of tomorrow cascade would be so much fun to watch!!!
Really glad, the format continues! Maybe you could play Eldrazi Tron next time?
Recently discovered this channel. Your game play is very fun to watch. Keep up the content!
Welcome aboard!
is good, we enjoyed it
Great games, really intense! I would love to see some Orzhov Griefblade, with or without a reanimator package
Another wonderful video. Were you two missing the fact that you can float a colourless off of chapter 3 of saga before it goes away? Btw I would love to see Ad Nauseam with Profane Tutor and Aspiringspike's Demilich Phoenix build (or indeed his mono red Phoenix build)
(BW stoneblade / Death Shadow / GB Rock / Niv to Light / Infect )
I would love to see some of these decks get played
Great stuff. I hope you keep producing videos in this format. I love that you place snippets along the way of what your strategy is. Question, at the 19:30 mark, how did you cast Thought Monitor with no blue mana?
Urza let’s artifacts tap for blue.
Hey guys! Great video! Respectfully, I would offer that some sound treatment on the walls would really improve the audio. Everything else is great, and this would be an easy improvement to help the audio :)
We are fully aware and have been working on it for weeks. We were meant to have a contractor come but, in some weird cursed fashion, between power outages, injury and last-minute unavailability, we're still waiting for the set to be built! 🔊
Id like to see some durdley brew with Arclight Phoenix. Maybe with Dimilitch? Maybe just Murktide? Who knows.
Jamin could have still been doing something for game 2. With the titan etb trigger during the last turn, you could have gotten a tolaria west and simic growth chamber. Bounce the tolaria west after floating 2 blue then transmute for pact. Get another titan then hope you don't die to the construct. Kill Urza/Asmor with valakut and grind back to a win.
I’m bummed we didn’t see any emry! That being said these are my two favorite decks in modern
JANK you say?
personal brew: mono red Equip. Ive been playing this for 3 years with very good results.
i dont have any new modern horizons 2 cards in my list but i made alterations to include some.
So here you go:
4 fireblade charger
4 goblin gavaleer
4 champion of the flame
3 Ragavan
3 Valduk Keeper
1 Fury
4 Galvanic Blast
2 Abrade
4 shuko
3 Bonesplitter
3 cranial plating
2 grafted wargear
1 boots of speed
4 Urza's Saga
1 Hanweir Battlements
1 Darksteel citadel
16 mountains
Amulet Titan is an example of a deck that is very powerful to the point of ridiculous and yet I love watching it play out every time. I can't say the same for things that play...well any teferi.
I would love to see mono green devotion (using Leylines of the Guildpact) vs martyr of sands lifegain.
Hoping to see Izzet Blitz or Izzet Tempo in one of the videos
Try the deck "muldroth a makes magic" great deck with multiple way to win and lots of graveyard recurssion and milling
amp
The New Land from Brothers War commander turns urzas Saga into a Trondheim Land things how cool
Sooooo good
Bring to Light Valki next week!
wooow, your videos look absolutely amazing 😱 EDIT: play the BG version of the asmo deck
Amazing production value, showing the cards in hand in the bottom corners (as well as what's been revealed), the comments in the B-roll. The only somewhat negative thing I could say is that the logo in the bottom right corner somewhat blocks the hand from the kitchen deck. But wooow, this might be the most entertaining and best produced modern video I've seen in a while
Hi Victor, I am glad you liked it. We are looking to improve the quality of content with the gameplay series all the time. We all love a bit of Modern, so the quality of videos should match the fan base :D
Game 3 You had lethal, in a fairly convuluted way, but it did exist!! float 1 with urzas saga and get amulet, do everything the same as you had done until you played titan, because you have 1 extra mana from the urzas saga (since in video you didnt tap for the free colorless) you can tap all lands except hanweir

gg!!
In game one where you searched for 2 valakut you could be of won that turn by making one of the searches a simic growth chamber you would net 6 mana bounce the growth chamber play the dryad leaving you with 3 mana play the growth chamber again with dryad giving you an additional land drop make 4 more mana bounce growth chamber gain you now have 7 mana and have 1 valakut trigger play Azusa you can now net 8 more mana with bouncing the growth chamber and 2 more valakut triggers you now have 12 mana transmute tolaria west get pact get titan and then get valakut and vesuva that gives you 4 more triggers with a total of 7 valakut triggers with a grand total of 21 damage
Eyeyey ... five copies of Fatal Push in the deck ... disqualified and official winner >>> Jamin!
What is the die on top of the deck for? At first, I thought it was for a pact reminder, but then it happened without pact.
G1 Killing Azusa would not let him replay the land another time, he could have won then on his turn or at least take out the dryads to null valakuts.
Edit: Seems that G2 went the other way around in a karmic cycle, amulet player forgor to float both times urza's saga mana, which did not allow him to play multiple dryads first. Did makes actually a difference, cause having two mountains while valakut in play meant deploying 4 lands next turn would give him bot per turf. Sure, he would fizzle titan that turn, but would kill Asmo, getting a possible extra turn with chumpblocks to replay titan.
Hi guys, i would like to see a match with a tribal deck, like humans. Thanks a lot, i like your videos, very funny, byeee!
The amulet player is not floating mana with saga's last trigger...
but we are in germany, every word is like that. Ich würde Jamin auch gerne das neue lotus breach wish deck spielen sehen. Also, carl you should have casted the ashiok instead of holding gust
Ich kann bei den Decks nichts versprechen, aber hast du eine Liste dafür?
Without Azusa or Dryad I think there was no lethal line at 34:30. Maybe @fpawlusmtg knows. He is the Titan Main ;) Great Games!
UW control please
What about merfolk vs elves in a tribal battle.
Or Elves vs Goblins
Asking for scales part 2
Esper control pleaseeee
Why do he put the dice over the deck?
Jamin missed the valakut triggers in game 2 right? He could have done 4x3 damage, kill urza so Carl wouldn't have mana for the counterspell
We cut out all the times Jamin said it in the video, but he really wanted people to know that this was his first time playing amulet titan 😅
Is it just me or is this version of Amulet Titan sorta.....ehhh at best. Not that the deck doesn't have some ups and downs sometimes, but if feels like it's two halves of different versions of the deck that can't decide if it's the combokill with a toolbox or a Valakut deck that happens to abuse amulet titan.
More like... Asmoranomardico-dies to removal
Why are you paying 3 mana for urza saga construct??? It only costs 2
Guys, I see you've got great cameras, but the audio is horrendous.
We are fully aware and have been working on it for weeks. We were meant to have a contractor come but, in some weird cursed fashion, between power outages, injury and last-minute unavailability, we're still waiting for the set to be built! 🔊
U could have killed him, u are forgetting to tap the saga before u sac it so u could have spend that extra mana to leave hanweir untapped to give haste
would love to see you guys play a deck ive brewed for a while and play at my local game store every week, actually really good vs main meta decks atm www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/4168367#paper
