Or just toilet train your cats and designate one bathroom in your house as the "cat bathroom". It's quite possible, cats don't really need litter, you can buy these toilet lids that have smaller holes, like a child's toilet seat. all you have to worry about is flushing the toilet.

I don't even have a cat. I'm actually allergic to cats. But I still watched this all the way to the end cause it was so interesting hahah
I have a Cornish rex which has a very short coat so I don’t have to worry about hair! My ex is allergic to cats but his allergies wasn’t bad. Sphynx might be a better fit for you. I would also suggest that if you have allergies then go to the breeders home and see how you do. My breeder has a cattery and her female cats had free roam and it was very nice !
@@KWheelz16 It's not the hair we're allergic to, it's the protein in their saliva that turns into dander once they lick themselves. honestly I would love a hypoallergenic siberian cat, there are catteries that actually test the level of allergin, it's just extremely expensive to purchase one because of these conditions. Sphynx are cool too but same thing, super expensive and require regular bathing, they do not carry a lower level of allergin they just dont have the fur to collect lots of dander (which is why you still need to bathe them, to keep it off their skin.)

I'm allergic, but I did not choose my cat. She chose me. I wipe her down once a week and I take antihistamines anyway.

This is the BEST review I have seen, and I have watched just about everyone there is. He has given more information and experiences that are more real, and the narrative is so natural as if you are right there visiting with him and his family. He has even given several examples of pro and cons of a $500 or 500 pound cost. He has even compared the first Litter Robot to the new generation. Connecting to a smart phone, well wasn't sure if I would do that but, he has shown the positive side of doing that and hoo hoo an iRobot.

I love my litter-robot more than I love my car and almost as much as I love my mom. I have an older model and it's fine for me. I HATE handling litter boxes.

I love our Litter Robot. We were a two cat household (now just one) and our cat loves always having a clean place to use. She is also obsessed with watching it rotate; she waits by the box for 7 minutes until it completes its cycle. EVERY TIME. I see someone asked about cleaning inside of it. It is rare that we get any streaks, but it is all accessible and a wet wipe works every time and easily. Because Yang is watching the box, she also lets us know if there's anything that needs our attention (aka a litter stalactite) with some loud meowing, so we are quick to fix. The litter that they sell also helps prevent "litter foot," which has been a problem for her since she was a kitten. She's clean, the box is clean, and we are very happy pet parents! (PS: We have tried most of the boxes you reviewed, and we've had very unhappy cats overall, so we're so thrilled to finally find one that does its one job well.) Thanks for the lovely video!

The PetSafe auto one has a “forever tray” now. It’s $50 dollars, but it pays for itself after three uses.
I didn't get a scoopfree because I hated the idea of replacement litter box bases, thank you!

i upgraded to litter robot my cats are much happier and no box stink also i had the forever tray it kept jamming the throw away trays work mostly ok but they are 16 to 20$ each and last about 2 weeks
non clumping cat litter is 4x the price of clump litter and is the only kind useable with the petsafe litter box litter robot uses clumping litter 15$ for a month worth vs 60$ for non clump
I have the petsafe litter box and I hate it. The metal thing doesn't get all the poop, the poop gets stuck to the metal rake/broom/scooper and my one cat gets the box full in a little over a week. And it smells so bad after like 4 days. I really want a litter robot but don't know what will happen if I put it in the bathroom....because of the moisture

@@cl844 - $15/month is cheap?! Pine pellet litter is $6 for a 40 lb bag at Tractor Supply Store. It lasts me up to 5 months, depending on the amount of cats I'm pet-sitting or fostering. I also have reusable ceramic pellets that can be washed. Both natural & ceramic pine pellets clump almost as well as clumping varieties. And both natural & ceramic are eco-friendly. Also, bc of their heavy & large size, they don't scatter as easily. When they do come out of the bin, there's maybe 4 or 5 of them which I pick up by hand & throw back into the litter box.

Your choice of music for the first few minutes was HILARIOUS.
I bought the first Litter Robot & my 2 cats & I loved it. Then the oldest one passed away from old age & I eventually took in 2 twin sisters. They adapted immediately. I just bought another Robot for the other end of the house and this time I bought the extended staircase. Glad I did. A cat provides you with thousands of dollars worth of entertainment & love over their lifetime so they are worth the Litter Robot and so am I!
what about the wet pee pee litter ? will it difficulty to filter clean ?
The litter bot is a must for any cat owner. It has been a fabulous addition to our house for 3 years. The cats always use this box.

Excited to see the catio video. I got one for my two boys and they sit and sulk because they'd rather roam what's left of the garden -_- I'm trying to keep you safe kitties!!!!
At one point I had 5 resident cats and I also fostered kittens. 12 total was the most ive had at one time.. my home was chaotic but rewarding and joyful watching the fosters grow and learn. It would take me so long going through all the boxes. Now I have 3 cats and I'm unable to foster at the moment but a litter robot is of course my dream box. Thanks for the video it was educational and very pleasant!

Been thinking about this for about a year now. Turned into a cat lover after never having one for my entire life (a very long time). Now I am in love, have three beautires but, hate the litter boxes. Never saw as thorough a review as this. Thanks! Think I'll invest.

I was recommended this video today and I am very happy to have decided to watch. I am a new subscriber as I am a cat lover and have 5 cats myself. I was curious about self cleaning litter boxes as I have cats all my life and would love help cleaning the litter boxes. I would love to have a litter box that told me how each cat uses the box. I look forward to watching more of your videos!
We have three cats, and have used a Cat Genie for close to fourteen years. Best thing we ever did, for us and for the cats. It’s plumbed in to our bathroom plumbing, and has been virtually trouble-free.

I have 3 Litter Robots- 2nd and 3rd generations in 2 homes with one cat in each home. The only downside is I might just love the Litter Robots more than my cats 😂. The cycling sound reminds me that I am not scooping poop and is so satisfying. Love, love, love!

My first litter robot handled 6 cats when I first got it. A few months late, I got another one for the other end of the house. I live in a one story, long house.
I’m skeptical of kick-starters namely because the price is generally high (understandably so) and there’s no telling if or when you will receive the product. A lot of what was pointed out in the video.

When I started watching this video, my first thought was that the channel might have been made by the litter box company itself as some kind of sales tool. A video this well done, with so few views and subscribers?? Something is fishy!

I accept your recommendation, and I must admit I am tempted. Your cats seem very well accustomed to it, and when conditions are ideal it clearly saves loads of work. . Apart from the price (which I couldn't afford) I sense two complications one might come up against:
1) What happens if the cat gets diarrhea?
2) I have personally stopped using clumping litter because it makes my wheelie bin very heavy and difficult for the men to handle (they complain), and also clumping litter is not biodegradable. I use wood based litter, therefore, or alternatively paper based.
I have four cats. In the past, as a cat breeder, I had 15 or more - so in my time I have shoveled up hundredweights of poo!. Thanks for interesting video. I love cats!
If your cat has diarrhea you can set the timer to 15 minutes so the litter has a better clumping time and even if some parts are still in the globe after cycling, I just would suggest: empty the whole litter and clean the globe after the cats don't have diarrhea anymore. To answer your second question, for the litter robot clumping litter is better because in the cycle the clumps are separated from the clean litter, if you dont want to use clumping litter maybe the other automatic litter box would be better for you :) The litter robot is expensive, yes, but without it, I still would pay 30€ every month just for litter for 5 litter boxes. Now I just have to buy new litter every 3-4 months for one litter robot and an additional normal litter box.

Check out corn based clumping litter. It's biodegradeable & I found it absorbs odor the best for my bunch. LitterRobot is a goal!!

Have you considered using the litter tray that attaches to the loo and you slowly remove inserts until they are just using the toilet.
Day Dreamer training 5 cats to use that is near impossible, especially two old cats.

Hello there, I really enjoyed this. Who knew that litter box chatter could be so interesting! I have a Benagal cat and 17 chihuahuas so this could be good for me. Side note.... If you feed your cats a fresh food diet instead of a highly processed long life diet the poop is a lot, lot less and far less odourous. Thanks for this review and taking the time to make this video.

This is the first time I ever subscribed within the first minute of seeing a youtube video! That DEDICATION on getting those shots (especially in the litter robot and in the poop tray)! Glad to have found a fellow crazy cat "lady/gentleman." I have 90% of the toys (even the ebo robot) and I also funded the iKuddle kickstarter too. Only have 2 cats, but if I had a place big enough for 5 cats, I would have definitely been your female counterpart. 😂 KEEP GOING! A couple of my cats love watching the robots. They come running when they hear it. One likes to dug in it while it is moving. I have two - one in each end of my house

I thoroughly enjoyed your review and your lovely cats. I recently bought 2 L.R.3’s for my 3 cats age 13 and 2 who are 14. They adapted quickly to using the bots and it’s no longer a messy chore. Like your cats mine like to pee on the walls in the bots and a number of times there are still leftovers that stay stuck till the next cleaning. Because the pee clumps have a tendency to fall in the same place in the drawer, about every 2 days I’ll pull the drawer out to shake the clumps to the front of the bag and therefore make it last longer. May you and your kitties live long and your Litter-Bot never break down.

I use roomba robot vacuum cleaner as I can’t keep up with all the fur shedding!
I freakin love our litter robot. Thing keeps pretty much all the smell out and is easy to maintain.
I've had my Litter Robot for a year and a half and it is everything I hoped it would be. I have two medium hair cats which were about 8 years old when introduced to the Litter Robot. The transition from a traditional litter box to the LR was fairly easy and we've all been happy with it. I researched many different models for years and even created one of my own, but none of the others seemed as reliable and trouble-free as the LR.
Awesome! Didn't know such a thing existed!! Once upon a time, we had about 8 cats in our house. Now none though there are quite a few in the neighbourhood.👍🐈
Since you have five indoor cats, would you consider doing a video about how to keep a handle on cat hair? I have had four indoor cats for quite a few years, and honestly the cat hair problem gets OVERWHELMING. It's EVERYWHERE, and I just don't understand how other people keep it under control. Any help or advice would be SINCERELY appreciated!
Deshedding brush and vacuum
Kelly Evans get a roborock or the like. Do research, look carefully at them as I’ve had several that didn’t work for me. I’m so glad I found one that does. Run it two times a day-ish. FYI I have hardwood floors, I scan the house for cat toys that can get stuck in it, areas that need to be closed off like closets.
I wear a lot of black clothes and even freshly washed one will have a lot of fur on it. Also on the sofa. Cant sit on it without getting white fur stuck on my bum. I use a lot of lint rollers and keep them everwhere esp in the living room and car. Regular mopping and vacuuming helps (robot vacuum even better). But maybe not possible to have zero fur flying around at all. Lol. Worth the pain tho. My 2 cats are everything.
maybe get the material that those deshedding gloves are made out of and line it on a low area that your cat goes through? Like that one house that had the cat walkways, make a box for it and teach them to go through it with treats? Might have mixed results my one cat loves the deshedding glove, the other hates it.
Only downside is you'd have to keep cleaning the material/box I don't know if this is a actual product yet maybe search around? I was throwing it around in my head
Try having 10 cats and a German Shepherd Dog. I got a robot vacuum cleaner which really helped along with my normal Henry Hoover. Sadly, my dog passed away from old age a month ago (he was 13/14, true age not known as he was a rescue but I had him for 11 years). I miss my dog and never thought I would say this but I miss his hair being everywhere 😢

@@sailorarwen6101 Yes true its not cheap but I'm am an invalid and have big back problems and could not bend to clean the box everyday so went looking for the best alternative. don't know if its the same in other country's but the litter robot had a 100 day not happy money back policy so I figured I would try it and my cat (jesse) and me loved it. also in time you will be spending less on cat sand. Also the customer service is really good.
