Philip, no idea if you will see this on this old video but I just wanted to thank you. We purchased 3 of these feeders for our 5 cats. One needed a high protein, one needed weight control and the others just a standard high quality food. Never have we been able to give them each the specific food only they needed. With this we can now and we can already see the health improvements due to them each getting their specialized diets thanks to you making me aware of these feeders. I came here to look for information about the microchip feeders and ended up watching a video with great storytelling and very lovely cats! Thanks for making the video!
@@OneManFiveCats I bought two at the beginning of the pandemic because one of my cats wasn't eating enough and the other would steal his food. Back then, they were about £60 or so (can't remember). Now, the simple version is £115 if you're lucky.
I've been debating getting one of these for awhile. I took in a stray who was a tiny, fluffy, starving, sweet kitty. It's been two years and she is now a huge Maine Coon mix who eats everything, except for the dog's food. My other two cats like to graze and my oldest (he's 16) has been losing weight simply because the fat cat keeps eating everything. Obviously I want them all to be healthy, so I think I'm going to buy one of these. Thank you for reviewing it!
I found the video after already having 6 of their feeders, 4 connect and 2 standard as we have 6 cats, 3 diets and 2 cats that can't eat any other food. It's a an excellent review. I find the feeders have some bugs. Even with the back plates and the fastest closer, other cats can get into a different feeder. All 6 have microchips but 3 need to wear their special microchip tags on collars as their own chips don't work consistently. One cat's built in chip works with the standard version but not with the connect version for example. Overall we couldn't manage without them but they're not perfect.
This was by far the most helpful review I have watched for these feeders. I have 6 rescue kitties, all of which need to lose weight. I’m excited to watch more of your reviews! Thank you for all the work you put into this!
Another brilliant review. So freaking entertaining I can't stand it! Okay, I discovered these bowls in the US about 8 months ago. Bought four of the basic ones, but wouldn't you know it, they sent one of the ones with the scale. So off I went and bought the necessary hub. They're pricey, but worth every penny. After I talked about mine, my sister bought them for her two rescue kitties...one eats everything in sight and the other likes to eat throughout the day, so even if you're not monitoring how much they eat or dealing with a special diet, these feeders can be very helpful. Thanks for the great video...I will share it with other cat owning friends.
Didn't even know these existed. I have 5 total furry ones and 2 of them that really should be on different food types. Will certainly look into these now! Thanks so much for this, Philip!
Ok so I just got sad that a cat food dispenser video ended. This video was brilliantly put together. Loved the little interstitials. Clear voiceover. Really fun and enjoyable video. Just a great job all around.
Hi Mr. Bloom, I discovered your channel today through the "Black with No Cream" podcast in which Valentina Vee mentioned your name and your crazy skills as a videographer. I logged in and saw "One Man Five Cats" channel, are you kidding me?? Not only a videographer, but a cat lover as well. Wow!! I am One Woman Two Cats (at the moment) kind of gal, but so far, I've watched two videos and I loved them. I'll be checking out all videos in this channel shortly. Thank you so much for loving and rescuing cats. I love Harriet so far, but I'm sure as I learn more about the rest I'll be sold as well. Cheers!!
Man… I came to see how these work and I get some Netflix cinematography with beautiful cats ! Aside from that, all the info I needed, thank you for making this video .
I don’t know if my 4 cats can sense the love and care you have for your cats. Or maybe it’s comforting for them to hear your voice. But when I put your videos on they will sit for hours watching your reviews; especially recently your automatic litter box reviews. But anywho your videos are very informative and definitely helpful on items to buy for them in the future.
I love the fact that you truly love your animals. I totally get that feeling. I have two rescues that I adopted almost a year ago now, and I can't imagine having a life without them now.
I love your cats and your videos! I'll sometimes watch your videos on TV and my cat, Sammi, who like Jack, is also black, will get up on my lap and watch all the videos with me. Thank you for caring enough to rescue and knife enough to love.
Love your review Philip and loved the more intimate look of Harriet enjoying life in the Bloom household. Hope your doing well and thank you for the post.
another beautiful video. gosh, i don't know why you don't have a billion subs. loved the stories behind your kitties as well. oh, harriet. love your British humor - keeps me smiling.
I was so intrigued and immersed watching your three litter box reviews and then this one that I can't even remember how I got to your videos in the first place (wasn't looking for information on automated litter boxes either), but boy, was it lucky that I did! Loved all of the ones I watched. The little snippets of story behind how you got each of your cats and their personality traits, while staying on topic, is great! The way you speak and include humor in your videos makes them engaging and gets a few chuckles out of the watcher. Love it! ♥
I absolutely love your video. I have just purchased the Surefeeder and am in the process of learning how to use it correctly. I have four cats one of which is on a special diet or, he ends up in hospital. So I need to stop him from accessing the other three cat's foods. Right now I'm going to try it with one feeder and see if I can manage. If not, I will purchase more. Thank you for your delightful video. It was Meowzing!!!
I just found your channel, and I just love it, and your love for your cats. Love your humor that you add. I see you see them as your children, and love it. Thank you for sharing your family with us. P. S. Love the music as well.
This is fabulous, I'm just now facing trying to separate out what 3 cats eat; 2 senior kitties on senior diet, but one eats too much whilst the other isn't eating enough, and then a boistrous young fella who eats anything and everything. Watching your gang happily using this system makes me think I might just lash out on a joint christmas present for us all! Thanks, love your content :)
I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful videos! Your videography is out of this world beautiful, and your content is fantastic. I’m making my way through all of your content now 😊 A big hello from Canada!
OMG.... I LOVE LOVE LOVE your video review! I just purchased the feeder as my cat who was born outside is OBSESSED with food! She is growing plump as her sister is getting thin. Your review was excellent! Thank you!
Thank's a lot for this review. I was hesitating getting one of these feeder after taking a former feral cat at home, he is just crazy about food ant it is a pain to keep him away from my other cat food, who is a super fussy eater taking 3 bites at a time... Reviews like this are helpful as a buying guide. I finally got the standard version, for only one cat (the other swallows all his food in 2 seconds!) and I do not regret it. Took 3 days for training and changed my life for the best!
Your videos are amazing. The care for you cats comes through in the video. I rarely say this but its heart warming. I hope Bertie and Percy bulk up soon! Thanks for the review.
Lockdown took me to some surprising places. 🤣 Your cinematography was a Godsend! I am still watching and enjoying your channel and wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your content. lol Harriet(?) is an amazing speed bump 😗
I have really enjoyed your videos. And was over the moon when you brought home the 6th cat! I can see you love for the animals, the strays of Skiathos, and especially Harriet and Severus. Please keep making videos... I am gonna find the Catio one and give it a watch. Thank you for sharing your cat family and your love of the cats with us.
Very informative video Philip, thank you. I see you have the red beads on your Christmas tree. I have these too and my cats like playing with them although they haven't shown as much interest in the tree this year as they did last year. The young ones are growing up...
I don't own a cat so I don't need a pet feeder or auto litter box. Have I watched all your videos? Yes I have and loved them. I also just subscribed to your main channel and watch all the commercials that pop up in case you see any $ from them. Your channel is so great.
This is the best and most useful channel. I have landed here a couple times trying to find info on automated cat stuff and these videos are amazing and comprehensive and somehow also precious and moving? I love your cats!
I also have a “Harriet”. My overweight calico is Sophie - unfortunately she has learned to wait until poor old Sid has activated his feeder, bulldoze him out of the way and quickly haul out an armload of his biscuits before the lid comes down! 😆
I love cats. I don't have one at the moment. But, when I do, I have your cat channel to turn to for great advice and content. As a fellow filmmaker, I think you do an amazing job of writing and editing your videos. They are always engaging, informative and entertaining. Happy Holidays.
First time viewer. Subscribed immediately. Thank you so much for your honest review and fantastic content. And most importantly, for the way you love your kitties. ❤😻🙏🏻
I feed two very, very diets to two very different eaters, lol! My goal was to have them both on the same diet, period. For years, they were on a 50% kibble, 50% canned diet, the wet fed once in the am, once in the pm, with kibble almost 24/7 (with occasional unintentional gaps, like in the morning before we got up to refresh the dish). Well, Moki (the great maw in my profile picture) started gaining weight. And eating his brother, Beemer's, wet food. It was literally years of my nigh constantly chasing him away, getting immensely frustrated, and losing the joy of having both my boys (but no, separation or getting rid of either was never an option). I looked into raw diets, as i had seen incredible results in dogs and just wanted to see if or how it's done for cats. HOLY COW. So cool!! I researched for several weeks, adjusted the way i fed my cats (24/7 food was immediately stopped, and soon the kibble was taken away entirely, and we had 3 wet food meals a day), then took the plunge when Beemer started getting picky about his food. Bought 30 lbs of raw ground mixes that only contained meat, bone, and organ; no dumb additives like fruit or veg, not even supplements or salt. just plain, REAL cat food. Beemer ate some of it for a while, and to make a long, complicated, stressful story short, we put him back to an all canned food diet, bc he has hypothyroidism and chronic kidney disease, lost a lot of weight fast, and now refuses to eat anything but a few choice flavors of Tiki Cat after deciding he hates his usual 9lives pate (which, btw, the tiki cat is more expensive to feed than the raw i feed my other boy). ANYHOW. Moki is now completely raw and doing fabulously. he has lost fat, gained muscle, is more alert and playful, and obviously feels better. he loves chowing down on his meals, and feels full afterward; he doesnt have the same endless obsession with eating his brother's food. doesnt mean he wont try or take a chance when one presents itself, but he gives up almost immediately and can go take an after-breakfast nap. now Beemer is on a 'if you'll eat, do it' diet of canned food. he has constant access, day and night, however, like i said, moki will help himself if given the chance. so my poor mom feeds beemer on her bed, and he wakes her up to open a container for him. by biting her face. lol, its a good thing we adore him. but its becoming really hard for mom to keep up with that, so i think we'll be picking up a microchip feeder. Moki will never go back on kibble, ever, bc i doubt he'll ever become a picky eater, and besides that, kibble has so much wrong with it. cats become addicted to the flavor of it, and being cats, they dislike trying new things. THAT SAID. your kitty already likes roast chicken. wouldnt be hard to add the roast chicken to her kibble, slowly transition her away from kibble entirely, then cook the chicken less and less until it's pretty much raw, then add the bone and organ (after you do ages of your own hard research bc you need to know how to feed raw correctly for it to be worth doing; 'Cats Completely Raw and Proud (Cat CRAP)' on facebook is a great resource; theyve helped me so much). i guarantee that your calico, a former stray, will go crazy for a raw diet. it's possible she wouldnt need much of a transition. she will likely lose her obsession of the food bowl, and will be more satisfied, lose that stubborn weight, and find mealtimes to be more stimulating (the goal is to get them on more whole-foods; bone-in, skin-on chicken wings, chunks of appropriate organ, even whole prey, yall). raw diets have great benefits, ranging from allergy relief or healing to weight loss to improved activity level. you owe it to your obligate carnivores to at least check it out. Perfectly Rawsome . com has wonderful info, the aforementioned facebook group has beginner recipes that are super simple, or you could even do a freeze-dried or other premade raw. there are loads of options out there. i feed pre-made grinds from Hare-Today, but they are not complete/balanced, so i do make some adjustments when feeding, and i follow a PMR, or Prey Model Raw, meaning no fruits or veg, no grains, nothing but meat, bone, and organ. i bought the 30 lbs mid-july, and i still have 10 lbs left. my boy is not the most rambunctious, neither is he a kitten with endless energy, so he doesnt need as many calories as other cats may. All this to say, Moki eats about 3 oz=$1.02 worth of food daily (my food calculator said he should be at 4.5, but he was gaining/keeping weight on at that amount; we'll probably go to 3.5 within the next couple weeks and he should be good to go). Beemer eats or tries to eat between 4-5oz= apr. $2.44 worth of food daily. i hope to eventually get him on raw, but right now i just want him eating, so we'll take it slowly and see what happens. :) thanks for coming to my ted talk. i know it was long and rambling, but it was nice to get it talked out. EDIT: oh my goodness, i forgot to mention. Moki's raw poops are NO LONGER STINKY!!! same goes for his farts; in fact, the only fart ive smelled from him since switching was after he had accidentally got into some kibble (naughty booooy ;) nah, stupid human left kibble out where he could find it. smart boy.) his poops are firm, fairly dry, uniform, and crumble into nothingness within a few days if they were to be left to decompose instead of getting scooped out of the litter box.
This is one of, if not the most enjoyable review I’ve ever watched. The production value is amazing, very lovely cats, and enjoyable narration! I’m looking forward to your catio video!
My older boy suddenly has gastrointestinal “issues” (that is putting it mildly). I live in daily fear of what is going to happen when I have to leave town for a few days and he will be with a cat sitter. I first learned about this feeder watching your other videos. I think I will get two for my boys. Harriet is a darling. Thank you for making this video, it is much appreciated .
Ah, so glad you made this and your other videos (the litter robot 3 one especially! Deff. going to buy 2 after your detailed video). We have 4 very differently sized cats with very different food preferences and without a doubt your review has convinced me on these feeders. Thanks!
Thank you for this! Me and my gf are moving in together, my cat has issues with over eating. I have gotten his weight down. But now that there is another cats bowl in the mix I can't control how much he is eating, and the other cat will eat his food too when she is trying to assert her dominance. I think me and my girlfriend will be purchasing 2 of these. Thank you very much for this video, basically answered everything I had that I had a question for!
Wow!! Congrats on your channel! So well done, relaxing and satisfying to watch! I'm eager to keep watching and get to know your family better. Greetings from one woman, three cats and two dogs 😊
Amazing review! Your cats are beautiful 😍 This has made me decide to purchase two feeders. I now have two different diets in my house and I was told to only feed morning and night. Both my girls enjoy grazing their dry biscuits and I don't want to change that part of their routine (both suffer anxiety) and cause them stress. Thank you so much as this gave me all the info I needed 🙂
Thank you for the review. As there don't seem to be any similar products on the market that can do this with wet food (I found two that do dry food only!), I think your review is still relevant 3 years later. I'm about to adopt a second cat while my first cat has food allergies, so it's good to know that this works out well. Also thank you for explaining the training modes and showing how to clean them. My Bella is an extremely messy eater so I will have to deal with this, no matter which bowl she eats from. Thankfully I don't need the app but I can totally see from your video why someone would have great use for it.
Just discovered your vids, I love them! The filming, the narration, the cats of course, all of it! Keep doing what you do, you have a new dedicated subscriber 😁
Your videos are superb! Your kitties, comments, quips and musical selections are a delight! Oh yes, your recommendations are useful and your explanations easy to understand. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you!
Nice video! I just bought that feeder because my vet told me that it could be helpful for my newer little boi, he needs food always every 3-4h otherwise he may tend puke and he is food sensetive, the problem is one of my other cats is a walking black-hole, therefore this is fantastic! I also recommend it!
Thank you so much for this review, I had lots of troubles with the connect feeder and felaqua connect showing the filling status in the app, as I did not know I have to refill and THEN push the "reset" button. The company should really pay you for doing their job.
thank you so much for this video. I have 4 cats and its been a nightmare keeping up with feeding needs. One, my 10-year-old cat Baby, has gastro issues so she is on a special diet. But she will steal anything that is left out for the others. This has caused a lot of issues My other 3, all siblings, are a handful. Mamoru is a bit of a bully and will hog any food set down. Pinky manages to get her food, but I worry for Bella. Bella is a shy quiet girl, and I worry she is not eating enough. She won't eat when her brother is near. I only wish these units weren't so expensive. I am going to have to buy one at a time until I can get them all one.. Your cats are absolutely adorable by the way.
Microchips are definitely the way to go - not just for these but for security. Even if your cats are indoor only, if something happens microchips help them get reunited with you!
Always when I see your videos I deeply feel how I miss cats in my life. My wife is extremely allergic ... so I'm a bit lost. I had my last cats for more than 18 years before they went to sleep for the last time, and after that I became "cat-less", which I really don't like at all. But what can I do. My wife still fights against living outside the house ;) Surefeed: I'm sure I would buy it - even with one cat (... I would never choose to only have one cat ...). A luxury version with cooling would be great - just in case.
@@OneManFiveCats Yes, at be beginning. I would have never been wiling to give the cats away. But they were pretty old ... and since then I'm "catless". Really miss cats in my life. For many reasons you cannot describe.
I love my Surefeed feeders!! They are great for cats on special diets, as you say! Have had them for at least 5 years, no problems! I think I need to upgrade to the newer ones, because they definitely enjoy grazing..
Your videos have been amazing, just finished your automatic litter box series. You have been such an incredible help. I do have a quick question about these feeders though... How often do you find you need to do a "proper" take apart clean of them?
I wondered if these feeders would work with my one grazer and two scarfers; I’ll be needing the one with the back cover for sure. I really enjoyed the cat movie.
In the past I have stayed with a friend, and we both have cats. Hers is on a particular diet, mine isn't but should not eat his food containing his medication. So we each had a feeder. With the current lockdown we are obviously staying at our respect homes, and there are no more visits. However we are continuing to use the feeders. One added bonus, both cats eat soft food which can a) attract flies and b) go dry. Using the feeder prevents this completely. My daughter has now bought one for her cat precisely because it keeps the food fresher for longer! Less wastage all round.
This was super helpful and I'm now obsessed with your reviews as the diversity of cat behavior makes them actually useful to compare to my home (me, a dog, and 4 cats). Can I ask what robot vaccuum brand/model you have? (and if you recommend it lol) I've looked into one to help keep scattered food/litter/fur in check throughout the week but have no idea which option might be best, and you are now my favorite source of smart home pet owner information
The best recommendation I've ever got on UA-cam! I myself have 4 rescue cats, and would live to meet a man like you one day to marry ! 😭 nothing more attractive than a man who takes care of his animals 🙌🏽
I have five of the feeders (not the connect version), and they are SO worth it! I know that each of my kiddos is eating what I give them and not stealing.
I would watch this man reviewing anything
me too
I don't even have a cat right now!

5:39 Did I… did I hear a Pitch Meeting joke in there? In all seriousness, I love your channel and your reviews. They’re really helpful!
Love the quality and effort into your vids!
I absolutely love not just watching your cat videos but also listening to you. You have an amazing voice, thank you for sharing with us.
another beautiful video. gosh, i don't know why you don't have a billion subs. loved the stories behind your kitties as well. oh, harriet. love your British humor - keeps me smiling.
Bravo Philip, a fantastically sweet video. Greetings from a colleague in Germany - Roman
The catio series starts in March as i rebuilt it…again!
Bravo Philip! I'm so tickled by it all. Your narrative made it so fun - (Beth from Los Angeles)
This is exactly what I was looking for when I went looking for a review of this feeder. Thank you. Also, subscribing because the video was great
I just love watching his videos! I just love his kitties, they are all so sweet
thanks for coming to my ted talk. i know it was long and rambling, but it was nice to get it talked out.
Thanks!
You, your cats and your style of filming is amazing. Thank you 🐈🐈
brilliant work! I love the storytelling, the cinematography, and how much you love your kitties
Thank you! I hope I can get the word about the channel as I am sure many cat lovers will enjoy it :)
Genius! You've done it again, Philip.
@@Sparrowlicious-01 it’s crazy the lack of options.
I know you are not meant to have favourites but I'm in love with Harriet. 😻
Your videos are so delightful. Finally a reviewer I feel like I can trust ❤️
Just discovered your vids, I love them! The filming, the narration, the cats of course, all of it! Keep doing what you do, you have a new dedicated subscriber 😁
Thank you Avery 🙂
Your videos are superb! Your kitties, comments, quips and musical selections are a delight! Oh yes, your recommendations are useful and your explanations easy to understand. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thank you!
Nice video! I just bought that feeder because my vet told me that it could be helpful for my newer little boi, he needs food always every 3-4h otherwise he may tend puke and he is food sensetive, the problem is one of my other cats is a walking black-hole, therefore this is fantastic! I also recommend it!
Thank you for this review. You have great pacing and a nice voice. The detail is helpful, too, to really understand how these work.
Love this guy and his vids very useful and very well made!
This has caused a lot of issues
My other 3, all siblings, are a handful.
I have 4 cats, one is very chubby. I would love this except my cats won't wear collars. Very nice Video by the way.
Then get them microchipped! 🙂
Microchips are definitely the way to go - not just for these but for security. Even if your cats are indoor only, if something happens microchips help them get reunited with you!
I love your videos, the cats and the information. Thanks
An amazing review again! I don't own a cat, but if I had, I would probably get one of these :)
I love the little moment at 3:26 xD
Thanks Ronald. My twins are so wonderful
Sorry wasnt finished. Its wonderful to see your reviews. 😊
Were you together when you had your cats?
Thank you. For wet food a few days, for dry food every couple of weeks.
@@OneManFiveCats thank you, that's very helpful.
I wondered if these feeders would work with my one grazer and two scarfers; I’ll be needing the one with the back cover for sure. I really enjoyed the cat movie.
This really answered all my questions about this device. Thanks so much!
Got 4 cats and each has their own microchip feeder and yes, they are 100% worth it 😁
You’re cats all get on so lovely with each other. I have two and one likes to bully the other. With two dogs as well it can get chaotic.
You are the best! I plan to get one after watching your review. Thank you!
What a well done video. Very entertaining and relaxing to watch.
Heavily thinking about getting these for my cat and toy poodle. They can’t read their names on the bowls either!
Great video! I love Harriet, she reminds me of my own Calico kitty, Cocoa ❤ thanks so much!
I have five of the feeders (not the connect version), and they are SO worth it! I know that each of my kiddos is eating what I give them and not stealing.
Amazing review Philip 😻
