They didn't mess up in the intro. They had credits for "Young Miller" and "Young Sematimbe" in season 2. If people hadn't started you thinking about the intro, you would likely have either missed it or presumed Miller would be seen in a flashback (as I did). If you hadn't been warned, you wouldn't have thought about it so hard.
That Belter song "I'm All Alone" was an homage to "All By Myself," a 1975 hit by Eric Carmen.
When Bobbie spoke to Alex, the monitor identified that she was on the MCRN Xeusen.
You guys didn't remember that Prax had introduced Amos to his daughter as "my best friend in the whole world?"
"Delta V" refers to a change in speed. In this case, Maneo's ship went from thousands of miles per minute to zero in an instant. Do you recall the conversation Holden had with Dawes when Dawes said, "You remind me of someone I know...."
The contract Alcon had with SyFy was for three seasons. The show had never had high ratings, so they wrote the latter half the season to contain the entire third book...so it's going to run very fast. It suffers, however, in only one real way from that.

Absolutely agree. People really should stop even mentioning this "spoiler". It's only seems like a spoiler in hindsight

There was also an establishing shot of the exterior of the Xuesen, as is basically TV and movie cluing the viewer in protocol, before we cut to Bobbie.

Melba's chief explained how the power couplers, if flipped the wrong way, could trigger a chain reaction of circuit breakers. She said, "that seems like a bad design" to which he said it's better than a ship blowing up near their yard. Essentially letting us know that whatever this panel is can blow up the entire ship, and she somehow sabotaged it.

I was happy to see the documentary crew aboard the Rocinante. I never really could fathom how or why the MCRN had not sued to recover the Tachi. Thinking they must have filed a case, I was left wondering how the crew of the Roci could possibly have afforded the legal fees to defend themselves and establish their "lawful salvage" claim in court. This episode provided affirmation for me that Mars did sue, and it further explained that the legal fees were being paid by the company to whom the Roci crew gave access to their ship on the trip out to the vicinity of Uranus to investigate The Ring. I never for one second thought the inclusion of the documentary reporter and her cameraman were part of some corny show-within-a-show cliche'

To be fair, I doubt the MCRN had dealt with some civilians wandering off with one of their warships before. And I'm guessing step one would be go get it, but when that was clearly not going to work they had to go get laughed at and then mugged by some lawyers.

You're at episode 3x07 of this show and you're still wondering, or even annoyed, that you don't immediately know what everything is or why? Seriously?
No, that's not cheap writing, that's actually good writing, and it has been like this from the very first episode on.
You will learn everything when it's time for it. You will get answers to all your questions, and you will get more new questions in return.
I (and many others I know of) consider this as one of the best episodes of the show, so you saying this would be one of the weaker episodes feels very out of line.
Also, how comes that after 2 and a half seasons you still don't trust these writers that they know what they do? "I fear that they will do this, or that, like in this or that show", yadda yadda, yadda. No. They follow the story of a critically acclaimed series of 9 books, with the book autors being part of the writer's team. They know _exactly_ what they do and why. Have a little faith. Did they ever let you down so far?

The Maneo deceleration has always made me laugh. I was on the floor the first time I saw it.

Id say as the start of a new set of storylines and the longest time jump in the show. They did a great job touching base with everyone and setting up the rest of the season. . Trust the writers... everything is there for a reason.

Yes, but how would you feel if you didn't expect Miller's return? His cryptics are kinda tropey that's true, but I for one enjoy this trope.
It's also pretty funny you can't just let the Melba mystery flow naturally. It's pretty obvious those answers about her will be answered in time.

I never assumed the “blind guy” was sensing through his fingers. He can see what his drones see and he controls them through his finger motions.

Check out the scene where the blind guy examines the plants on the Prax panel with his fingers. There's no drone anywhere near.
When he enters Amos' space he explicitly says: 'no cameras.'

@@pspirto8014 I think he can literally see through the cameras but he's gathering other kinds of data through his fingertips. He knows how to interpret that data well enough to substitute for actual sight.

    • @MattNolanCustom
      @MattNolanCustom 2 місяці тому

I think it's both. It may not be visible spectrum that he "sees" with his fingertips, but it is certainly some kind of vision. Plus the cameras are clearly transmitting into his head somehow
