    Those hard bags look so good that I would probably never take them off.

    This could be the most beautiful and amazing video I have ever seen about a vintage, special and clever touches, especially that leather over the engine.

    I had no idea that the exhaust mufflers were different from the vintage to the Springfield. Ya learn something new every day. I did know the frames are different as Indian changed the rake and trail with the Springfield to match the Chieftain/Roadmaster. I have a '17 Roadmaster and as much as I love the look of the old leather bags, I do prefer the practicality and security of the lockable hard bags. You did a great job on yours! Thanks for sharing.

    Very nice Bike. I have a 2017 Springfield. FYI I put the Desert Dawgs on my old Yamaha Stratoliner and had them on in warmer weather and the engine was over heating.

    Nice! A well balanced modification of chrome, paint and utility on the classic Indian Chief design. And kudos on the self made rack. One comment though, IMO, the fork wind deflectors seem a more modern design, that’s why I don’t have them on my bike. Do they really work that good? Maybe a video on the benefits of with and without them on the bike, Thanks. And if you served in the AIr Force, veteran to veteran, thank you and your family for serving. Liked on this vid and subscribed.

      I agree, the lower wind deflectors do stand out a bit. I found them to help noticeably though, so I just decided to live with them. I am an AF veteran. Thank you to you as well, and thank you for subscribing!

    Hi there, may I ask where you got the extra leather thigh guides from please? I have just bought my first brand new 2021 Indian Chief vintage and over here in Queensland Australia they would be a great asset given our tropical climate. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I'm glad I subscribed, love your no nonsense reviews free of BS :)

    • @RidgeRoamer
      @RidgeRoamer  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you! Yes, the rubber bumpers on the leather bags leave marks on the fender, but they aren't actually on the paint, as Indian installs small round clear stickers where they contact the fender.

      They are an exact replacement, assuming you use the Indian wheels (I can't speak for aftermarket). Same spacers, cush drive, brake rotors, ABS, etc. Easy swap.

    I was told by an Indian dealer manager (10/13/2021) that the the leather bags are Not Interchangable with the hard bags. However I saw that you did indeed do it. Is this because of the year of your Indian Chief, or some other issue?? Thanx for any info you have.

    • @RidgeRoamer
      @RidgeRoamer  2 роки тому

      It requires additional work and components from a bike that did come with hard bags. There are many forum posts from those of us who have done it, detailing it all out. Gets expensive quickly.

    Those Kuryakyn hard bag hinges are starting to grow on me, thinking about them for my stunning 2019 burgandy & metallic gray Springfield. What do you think of their quality, as some Kuryakin parts are a bit up or down in quality of late.

    • @RidgeRoamer
      @RidgeRoamer  3 роки тому

      I love the look of them... very 50's era almost overboard chrome accents. Build quality seems very good. No issue with them in the year and a half or so that I have had them.

    • @roguecheddar
      @roguecheddar 3 роки тому +1

      @@RidgeRoamer ,Thanks for the info, they do look good, they're a little pricey though, so it may take me while to get them, as I'm already starting to collect the Kuryakyn engine cover bits. These Indians are just a pure joy to ride. I also have that intake and stage 1 with the fishtails. It has all the grunt I need. Cruising heaven, all day every day.

    How do you like the soft lowers? Do they compare well to the hard lowers that come on some full dressed bikes?

    • @RidgeRoamer
      @RidgeRoamer  3 роки тому

      I love the soft lowers. They aren't quite as big as the hard lowers, but when combined with the lower wind deflectors on the forks, they are just as good. Plus, the soft lowers go on and off in just a few seconds, and you can easily toss them in a saddlebag taking up very little space.
