My six wire stepper hasn't worked since my car has been finished. It takes up 6 aux I think on my link g4+ Xtreme. I have been told the stepper is faulty. Is there Any way to test this? My car is a bitch to idle when cold. Hot is fine
Good morning Ross. Did you install the link extreme yourself or pay someone? The windings of the stepper can be checked for resistance as an indication of its health however I find the best way to test is by having it all wired correctly, popping the unit off and veiwing its operation. I also have a test rig to a link setup for such a purpose. Maybe it needs to feature in a video with some good base settings included. Cheers Kelvin.
@@CartuneNZ it was professionally wired in I have it blanked off atm as we couldn't get it tuned with it as it would be stuck open. Edit. Tbh I can't find a new item around here without buying aftermarket. Do I just do the ford stepper conversion. Or can you source me one from somewhere?

Hello Johnny. I did some footage on this topic a while back when I had a vvti with incorrect cam timing but it never got edited. Im wiring a few vvti engines atm so will attempt to belt one out. Fortunately there are some base settings for many engines so it vvti works on these settings providing its mechanically and electrically correct. Cheers
