dude, were on the same journey. I'm up to tray 21 on my treatment plan with another 10 trays to go. I'm super happy with my result thus far as well. I also had to wait 5 weeks for additional trays because of the pandemic.
Thank you for the update. Unfortunately I have another 4 to 5 months on my Invisalign’s. It’s a frustrating time but I’m also reaping benefits from wearing Invisalign’s. No snacking which is great having lost 7 lbs… yay. Thinking about all you invisaligner’s out there.
Have booked and cancelled first appointment twice.. Cost and pain... But I am going for it next month thanks for your honesty and simple no frills vids... nice one about the snacking! Ha
Do it! 🙂 I'm on tray four, and for me there's just a bit of pain for a day when I'm on a new tray. But it's a nice kind of pain, like sore muscles after a workout. You can feel that it's doing you good! 👍
A really informative series! I'm in for 26 weeks, and are now waiting for my first trays and your videos really have helped me to know what I'm getting in to. This will be interesting :)
Great work so far thanks for such in depth info! I'm on tray 2 of 16 so far, changing every 10days or so, but am anticipating refinements as my orthodontist said to prepare for about 12months in total
Hi I’m a CAD designer for Invisalign just to let u know it is pretty normal to have an Additional set of aligners at the end of the Primary set. I would recommend you to ask your Doctor if he can spread second tray again for the 14 aligners to make sure all the movements are completed at the end of the Additional set, this will make the movements more predictable and less painful. I know it can be a pain because your expectation was to be finished with the first tray, but it is normal for treatments to be extended a little more.
Thanks Nahomy. I have since received my new set of aligners. Another 13 weeks. The pain is fine, just frustrating as you mentally set expectations. Happy to continue and get the perfect result.
I’m staring my treatment in 2 days. About 3-4 k for idk even remember how long, a few months, I’ll have to go through my email lol but definitely not a cheap treatment but I’m hoping this should work out. I have a feeling this can actually help with my caffeine addiction in order to not have to keep taking them out all the time, I just drink water instead. We’ll see how that goes. I’ve kinda binged all of these Invisalign videos and they have really helped me mentally prepare for this upcoming treatment. You’ve earned a subscriber 👍
Get an aliner hook it was a game changer for me. I had trouble getting the top one to let go. now it just takes seconds to remove. A two pack was 4 bucks on Amazon.
Thanks for the update. I'd left a message on one of your previous updates that I was debating between these and fixed braces and that I'd read that the Invisalign often needed quite a few extra weeks/trays which your experience has again confirmed. I'm still debating!
Hi Katy. I am pleased the video has helped confirm things, even if it leaves you still debating. Clear aligners work slightly differently to metal braces both have their pros and cons. It could be worth seeking a personalised opinion from an orthodontist to help make a decision and have all the information if you have not done so already.
@@ElectricTeeth Thanks. I have bottom tooth misalignment very like yours so is great to see how good they look now. My own dentist promotes Invisalign but think the main thing putting me off is the not really being able to drink tea and coffee etc while they are in as I drink MANY cups in a work day ahaha. It as you said here, the reduced snacking would be a pro!
No, it is not great, he did not start with 14 weeks; it says "14 more weeks" because it's the annoying refinement, not the start of the treatment itself.
I was thinking about using Invisalign, but because of the relatively high cost of this system - (in my opinion) it really isn't worth the uncertainty that comes with Invisalign to do a proper job and with a reasonable degree of predictability. Actual braces seem to be much more efficient and capable (especially self-ligating brace systems).

Hi I’m attending an open day for these and am seriously considering them. Please could you tell me what you use to soak them in while you have your lunch? Thank you
Thank you I m in week one with the invisaligners and yesterday drank some herbal tea … will definitely stop it now -or am I allowed to drink tea using a glass pipe? As I understood you had a slight overbite as I have too in the upper jaw (nearly 10 mm) Has this overbite been pushed back enough ?
It is ok to drink tea, but not when your aligners are in ideally. Best to do when they are out, then brush after. I don't think I had an overbite. All the teeth have been moving in the right direction. The final trays I have now are for perfecting the adjustments.
Thank you for videos, it’s really helpful. My dentist suggested me to go with Invisalign , but I’m not sure because I have crowded teeth , I don’t know if it works for me or not!
My orthodontist has recommended Invisalign as well; however, after a ton of research, I've decided I'd rather go braces. One orthodontist video basically stated with Invisalign, the patient is responsible for making sure the aligners work; with braces, the orthodontist is responsible. If I'm paying the same price, I'd rather the orthodontist earn his money. :) I also savor my cup of coffee for hours every morning and eat/snack throughout the day. I'm getting ceramic braces next week. Keep researching! Watch the videos from the orthodontic offices, watch different videos for actual users. Make a list of pros and cons for both (Invisalign vs. braces). It all comes down to what will work best for you. Good luck with your decision.
I’m onto set 4 of the sets of 14 aligners - over a year and a half now - and my teeth weren’t anywhere near as crooked as yours….I don’t really understand the length of treatment time other than this current set is for refinements - I kind of wish I just had metal braces and my orthodontist said if I’d had them at a young age eg 12 then my bite would’ve been better treated. It’s my understanding that metal braces actually work differently in that the pressure on the teeth causes the bone to disintegrate and reform in a more appropriate position for the tooth. I’m unsure if Invisalign is strong enough to reform bone. It certainly doesn’t seem to fix malocclusion very easily. Would love to hear your thoughts as I’ve paid $7,000 and may have to pay more for more treatment ie more aligners. Did you get Invisalign Lite? I got that instead of Comprehensive….maybe I made a mistake. 🤷♂️
I am not qualified to really comment on all the differences, but Invisalign still moves the teeth by disintegrating and rebuilding bone. As I understand it, the main difference between Invisalign and fixed braces is the level of control per tooth and how the pressure on the teeth are adjusted. We would certainly like to cover more of this in the future, with professionals explaining the details correctly. I have Invisalign Lite, but that was on the advice of my orthodontist. It has taken a bit longer, but I am pleased with the results. I hope you are too.
Sorry if this sounds daft but I'm looking into getting invisalign soon and I was wondering how long you waited after consultation before getting your trays? Also, the attachments on your teeth.. How are they taken off after treatment or do they stay? Love your videos, thanks 🙃 X
Hi Jade. It was about 4-5 weeks after my in office consultation, complete with 3D scans that I got the first set of aligners. The attachments are removed after the Invisalign treatment. The dentist uses special tools too remove them.
It depends on your particular circumstances. They can get removed or replaced with different ones. I think typically they will stay in place from that start.
Hi John. Yes, you do. Normally you will have a wire bonded to the back of the front teeth in the upper and lower arch. You will then have a plastic retainer made which you will have to wear at night. In the first few months after treatment you may wear this every night, dropping down to a couple of nights a week thereafter. The longer the retainer is worn for the better the teeth will remain in place. Retention is for life. If you don't, even with the wire in place over many years the teeth can move again.
Thank you for the video. It was really helpful. I have a question though: "does Invisalign causes craze lines". I am on my 7th tray (of total 14 trays, recommended by orthodontist), however I can see some craze lines appearing on my front teeth (upper and lower). Could you please suggest if this is because of invisilign treatment coz I never have had craze lines before the treatment..
Invisalign in itself (to my knowledge) does not cause craze lines. Tooth grinding and misaligned teeth can be a cause of this. I think it is best to discuss with your specific dentist to understand why you might now be seeing them.
I have a few questions,I have a few teeth that are kind of crooked, not anything very noticeable, but it’s annoying. I also have an underbite, I don’t want to get real braces because I didn’t have real metal braces, because I don’t like how they look, so I just want to know, what is better, in your opinion, I also want to ask you because you are a oral professional, Thank You, also I want to know if they are good for me, because I’m 11, they have the kids kind but I wanna know if Invisalign is good, and good for 11.
Thanks for the question. What is 'better' is very hard to say because it is based on personal circumstances. There is a place for metal/fixed braces. Many prefer clear aligners like Invisalign for the convenience, aesthetics and some of the control it offers with moving teeth. In your instance your jaw is growing too so this is something to bear in mind. It is best to get a dental professional to make an assessment and recommendation having physically examined your teeth.
Byte Aligners are faster. Since Byte comes with a hyperbite device. And also different brands of alighners have different time lengths. The treatment times different for most people. Like if someone's teeth is far more crowding their aligners treatment would take a longer time. People will that aren't very crowded will would have more quicker treatment. Plus to speed up the aligner treatment a user needs to keep the aligners when their not eat, drinking, chewing on gum, or cleaning their teeth and gums.
The cost will depend on your personal circumstances, treatment time, location etc. You will need to get a personalised quote from an Invisalign provider.
5 years?! How often are you changing your aligners? Each week or every 2 weeks? How come so long? Did you have some more complicated issues to deal with in straightening the teeth that it has taken so long?
ya the way your teeth looked, im really surprised that he told you have to do only 14 weeks! i have better teeth than you and my treatment plan was wayyyy longer than yours, so i don't know why he told you your treatment was so short!

Yes, potentially, subject to what the root cause is for you individually. This is something best discussed with your dentist.
