For all you haters out there this trainee is in 2 years with safe miles that is the important thing here and he's becoming a trainer these are the drivers that we need
Hey I have 4 good years of experience I’ve never been able to get a job with TMC who can I talk to to get a chance??
@@adanbadillo7171 any recruiter can help you out
@@adanbadillo7171 send me a message on Facebook trucker axel munoz
10/4 I’ll give them a call I don’t have a Facebook just an Instagram.
He did a great job,the haters gone hate
We flatbed drivers need more videos like this one. Just started last week, I had some great backings at the shipper but the truck stops are kicking my ass.
how did you pass cdl school if you can't back?
@@thisperson6655 it's a difference backing on cdl school with cones then backing in real life scenarios with trucks trailers different angles different space.
@@mateodominguez9168 should have learned that in school how to know where the trailer is going before you got the license
@@thisperson6655 well thats not how it works bro
@@thisperson6655 trailers are easier than split axels bud, sounds like you don’t have your cdl
Some of the hardest backing you'll do is in truckstops, great training.
Go to a chemical plant and come back and talk to me
That guy will never be out of shape as many times as he GOALs that’s for sure.
Lol yup it's a good workout
haha, it's only when you're new, no one GOAL's after the 1st or 2nd week LOL
@@kenp9199 yes and as a veteran trucker that’s hauled everything from box to oversized permitted to what I do now is smooth bore tanker hazmat, in case you do not know it’s the pinochle of truckers. GET OUT AND LOOK , if you think you are that secure at all times with your ability to back at all times you are complaisant, which means if you have not had a accident yet well you are do , complaisant it will happen.. Hope you as a fellow driver will will understand this
Wouldn't it be nice if all truck stops in the north east had that much space to back into.
Always go to the back. Take the easy spots. Get the exercise you need .
Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
He will be doing this in 5 minutes in no time 👌
I agree with getting out and looking sometimes. but not sitting In the middle of the parking lot before he even starts backing up. But that's just my OP. But good job teaching and good job by the driver.
As nice as those tmc trucks are is sad to see them running only at 62mph
@Popularity Matters Yes, and insurance is less expensive and less tiring for the driver.
Verses other trucking entities that choose not to realize savings on fuel and insurance? A 62 mph cap is fine with me; sensible business decision imo.
@@frankswain9483 I feel like it's more tiring driving slow f ok r 11hrs
@@archibald2able that way they can afford even cheaper freight
Do they have pass smart?
I am scared to back into spaces with trucks on both sides. I over steer mostly and don't practice enough. Last month I was alone at fed ex in bloomington. It took me 45 min. But I did it and didn't wreck anyone's sh*t. Its embarrassing but I won't give up. Even with you dinosaur drivers being mean. 🙄
With practice you get better
Wish I had you as a trainer. My trainer didn't do any of this when I was training at TMC.
Same, when I was training at TMC my trainer was trying to do all the backing himself and wanted me to only do the highway and city driving.
@@snownight7 that is my situation currently i am with prime and its annoying the fact i just drive in the highway
@@rolp154 had the same problem while in training now all I did was night driving and he would arrive to all the 01 and 90 and I had to talk to the dm about it
Axel, if you put a mountain dew bottle 10 feet in front of the tarp, he wouldn't end up too far to the left side. All you have to do is back around with the front trailer axle. I would do that myself sometimes , just so I would know for sure where the trailer is in relationship to the hole.
He did a great job, and number of backs don't count anymore, but the number of hits do! So many people worry about how long/how many backs, hey backs are free, hitting someone is what costs.
You dam right my friend!!
Bill 777 I’m a new driver. I try to take my time backing and do my get out and looks, but these older drivers be about ready to fight if they think I’m taking too long 🤷🏽♂️ Backing a split axel in a tight truck stop spot can be stressful!! 😂
@@justmyperspective7430 they can either run up and get done up, or they can wait. Either way, i aint gonna worry with them.
For real, number of pull ups and goals don't count against you in the real world, number of hits do. Gotta protect yourself, driving record, and not some impatient asshat who can't understand everybody isn't a pro right out of the gate.
Jay Tea RS 💪🏾
Fantastic job, your a great trainer that's how it works.
Meanwhile while he's getting in and out of the truck he's got about eight other trucks backed up waiting for him to back it in
that's the downside to him getting in and out all those times... HOWEVER... at least he won't be one of those dudes on those "trucker parking fail" vids ripping off the front bumper of his neighbors truck
You're a good instructor. Most instructors care less if you can park at my company.
Prime inc?
Great job trainer & trainee. Love the videos Axel! Keep safe & stay busy boys!!
Armstrong 3:16 thanks brother
Axel way to teach a new driver...I wish I saw more trainers with different companys doing what you are doing
Thanks!!!
The Freightliner Cascadia violently shakes when jackknifing a flatbed during backing. Any advice on how to stop that would be appreciated.
what is the reason for dumping the air while backing up ?
Sharper turning radius--or backing radius, lol. Spread axle trailers don't turn or corner near as true as closed tandems due to the friction on that front axle; the pivot point is actually on the rear axle. Dumping the air on the rear axle puts the pivot point on the front axle to help shorten the radius--but if you're not careful you can cut a corner too sharp.
I ran with TMC for four years; haven't had a dump axle valve since, but when I did have one it did save my behind a few times.
I was wondering the same thing I’ve never had a dump valve for the trailer
Way to stay positive trainer!! Much respect ✊🏾
Nice job letting him practice and focusing on G. O. A. L. 👍🏻👍🏻 and roll safe!
That's strange DMV testing in Va would only give u 1 goal an 2 pull ups....anymore then that u fail!!!
Yeah, I've never understood that. We got 2 free pull ups, and 2 free GOAL. Like if i have to get out 50 times and pull up 50 times to keep me from ruining somebodies day, ima do it.
I agree I had to go thru va cdls test with that stuff it's annoying
In Michigan it’s a fail before he hit reverse
DMVs aren't creating a culture of safety. If they want to focus on safety, unlimited GOALs. They should allow as many pull ups in a ratio to trailer size. 53 ft trailer / half or more. 1 GOAL and 1 Pull Up just add unnecessary stress and are not realistic. I spent the last 4 weeks doing backing manuevers from 8AM until 6PM, an extra pull up or two prevents stress, increased accuracy/confidence and decreased cones hit. Better to measure 10 times and cut once...
I wish the Russian kid that hit my trk @1am had been trained this way!! But he was still driving on a Florida permit with no trainer! See the video in my personal videos!
Sorry to hear that I'm very strict to my trainees while they are parking they must do GOAL
I wish there were more videos on how to park. I’ve been with TMC for about 6months now and will not park unless there are multiple spots around me or if I can pull in. I just never got it down. I can blind side real good though but won’t try it if the truck stop is full
You’re an awesome trainer bro! I work for Melton, i see ya’ll everywhere lol i love the trucks ya’ll have.. I struggle with my backing too, we were taught to 12 to 9 but we’re in a 53’ trailer so its annoying.
I wanted to work for this company but i was nervous about doing the Physical Agility Test im kinda out of shape and didnt want to not pass and not have a job if i came back.great job on this video
Good job and Axel way to go .. What a helpful and supportive trainer. 🙏
TMC Unit 13632 decided to sleep at the fuel island in Buffalo TX. He pulled ahead but his trailer was still blocking the pumps. I got up at 3am to fuel and leave just to realize this guy is either sleeping or ditched his truck. Pilot people couldn’t get anyone to answer the door & other drivers said the truck was parked there for hours. This was June 2022. I admire TMCs tarping but lmfao that was the worst thing I’ve ever seen at a truck stop in 3 years otr. (Edit i complained to tmc sending photos of it and nobody responded) lol
Just for clarification, the proper time to dump air on the rear axle appears to be when your front axle is entering the spot so you can safely swing the tail in tighter am I understanding that right?
Mean while two hrs later he gets parked and prolly bpissing several other drivers. Who were trying to get to there own parking spots😢
If all drivers would do that at truck stops it would be much better out there when trying to park for the or just getting fuel
Wow, surprise, I applied 6 times I get denied because I from NYC.
27 years driving and a year teaching it now. I know the second e dropped the air out of the back axle he cut it to hard. It’s not about the drives and landing gear you need to look for it following the trailer tires and making a path for them to follow. Your steering the trailer not chancing it!!!!
Harris Donna Lewis Margaret Allen Michael
G.O.A.L...... get out and look is the key to perfection ......it's gonna take a some drivers a couple of months to master this perfection
This is a good video but it's obvious this is in the middle of the day and not at 4 or 5 pm. Cause by now you would have so.many truckers backed up behind you yelling for you to get moving.
GOAL =get out and look...unfortunately he did this at a truck stop in the even when drivers are scrambling to find a hole he is going to make alot of drivers angry
Making my eyes bleed. 11 years ago I worked for TMC for over a year. Learned a couple of things about them. Pay sucks, 65mph is in human and I never wanted to see another tarp in my life. Also spend hours and hours waiting to load steel. I switched to reffers. No touch, good pay and very little waiting. Also, TMC like Swift, Warner, Cr England and a few others is mostly new drivers. Ya gotta earn your stripes somewhere though. But I would recommend a dry van or refer company. Tarping in high winds or the dead of winter is a killer.
Same here.I did flatbed for 20 yrs.Moved to Tanker. Its more intimidating to drive because of the surge, but I make way more money, and don't work as hard.
It’s hard for me to back with those stacks blocking my view. I have to open my door
try that shit at 2 am in the mourning at a pack truck stop pitch black with no help Mr truck driver Blind side at that then see how good you are SMOKE
So your sayingat 2 years you know everything there is to know about trucking an he is skilled enough to teach someone else how to drive
I had a cdl instructor tell Mr the only time where is a limit to getting out and looking is the road test
Tmc don't stop at truck stops
where do they stop?
Tmc drivers dont rest, we push and roll
he isnt under pressure from other rude drivers on the cb telling him to get out of the way. it will happen at some point
Wish my tmc trainer was as patient as you all he says f*ucking do this f do that...
i wish i could be trained like this my trainer just yells and shit and it’s makes me over think it smh
Good video. You sound like Sam Kinison when you laugh
Turn signal lights on white freightliner next to UPS trailers are possessed
Lmao I just saw that
They are actually LEDs and they dont stay on solid. They actually flash. But they flash so fast your eyes see them as a solid, however the frame rate on the camera cant keep up.... hence the strobing affect.
It likes that pretty Pete..lol
its because it is on video,
So are you teaching how to back or how to rub beards?
I'm escaping CDL school this week. Kentucky test doesn't include alley dock so the school doesn't teach it (it's straight back, offset, parallel). You're trainee is doing good, must have a good trainer :)
Great back. Great video...
Just keep going till you hear glass or smell shit
5:25 couldn't he have pulled forward, pulled up a smidgen and corrected? He was on the button, almost.
Once I know where I am on the yellow line, I know where my blindside is.
Hay bro you are very good teacher I wish I could have a teacher like you as a trainee
Backing big rig is a science,
Backing is more of an art to me you could hit the same hole 100 times and each time be just a little different.
Geometry at its best!
I just keep it tight to the left, that should give you enough on the bkind side till you get straight enough to see.
Why did you guys dump the air and how
Can I pay you to teach me please!!!
That had to be before 5 o clock
Starting orientation next week.
What I'd really like to see is you finding a parking spot after sunset LOL.An awesome job would have been true if he didn't get out and look 20 times! But I get it, he's a rookie!
If there were more experienced drivers getting out and looking there would be less accidents
dont get use to the dump valve tmc is the only company ive seen it with you need to teach him the correct way to back up a truck trust me i was with tmc for 10 yrs and without the valve its complety different
I only tell them it's a tool not to use it all the time only when needed
Good job best of luck in your trucking career. You will get use to it soon enough!
Thabks bud
Good trainer! Thank you for taking your job seriously.
Just back the dam thing in
You’re TMC ? And you train people how to back up ... com on dude
Hopefully I be one of u all driver's in March I'll get out and look and ask questions
You will brother
I wouldn't want to be his trainee....he loves hearing his own voice too much.
He has a great attitude and it calms the student. 2sides to a coin bud
There would also be a lot of dead time for this video if he didn't speak
No one ever taught me anything about parking .. but I knew there must be some Tricks to it.. 9:00 10:00 stay as close to your parking spot side as you can when setting up . Mark a spot to turn out .. the 45 degree angle between the Landing gear and the firves..
I never pulled a 9 foot spread .. So which axle do you dump air out of? I have been pulling a 53' Reefer you can slide the tandems on them ..
I don't understand the 9 and 10? How does it work?
@@daviddyal3523 I think I was referring to the 9:00 to 10:00 part of the video ..
@@mikeskidmore6754 Does it mean how or where to turn the steering wheel?
I’m ready to join
Alley dock made hard lol
Good trainer showing him to get out as much as he needs !!! And your not fussing
I do mine at 515 pm
Great video Axel! Thanks to all of you trainers who take the time to teach us rookies the right way to do things.

Pitiful..........hate to see that if truck stop was full/crowded
He did it in 9 min by the end of his training he should do it in 3 min
Outstanding! Great trainer and student-proud of both of you
You don’t back that much with fb and stepdeck that much right ?
You need to understand this is the right way to train would you like him parking his truck next to yours on his first week of training this is why there's so much accidents on trucks stop
Good stuff man. Im so thinking bout doing this.
practice, practice, practice, ha!!!!! LOL
i am going Flatbed i need videos like this to help me.
Hey and get out as much times as you can , ppl need to be safe
Why is he getting out and looking at spaces that he can clearly see by hanging his head out the driver's window? G.O.A.L. is for your blind side, is it not? This is driving me crazy watching him circle and circle.
Your truck has blind spots without nose mirrors. If you have nose mirrors, spot mirrors, and WC mirrors you have no blind spots on a truck. Unless you count the back , but who cares about that. I only care about what I can control and that is a handful already. A truck is unsafe without all the mirrors. 25+ years OTR , Accident free over 45 years.
Good video, how is the TMC life treating you?
Tmc is treating me great !!!
Nice video!! Definitely enjoyed the backing tutorial
Thomas Parham thanks !!!
TMC.. don't pay .Talked to a husband and wife team hauling boats for TMC they said they get .38 cpm. That's nothing especially for teams. If that is what they pay teams then they must pay solo driver's next to nothing.
They get more than that, you might want to get your hearing checked so you can get the hearing aids for your next DOT physical.
Funny my trainer was making upwards of 2k a week take home so no they don't pay bad at all
Douglas Price how much is tarp pay
Can you be my trainer 🥺
If you have to do all that come on. You should be able to back at truck up visually like backing up a Toyota most companies don't have air on their trailer tires axels
In 5 minutes, I can be in that spot and is the restaurant eating my meal. Mean while you have 10 other trucks backed up waiting for you to back in.
This guy just likes to walk lol 😂 dude just back up I in,y have to come out once if u have too especially there are lotta free spots there lol
What you got here is a panoramic view of how Keppler and Newton calculated work, power and gravity into an elliptical cosine vertex. Perfect art and science !!!
Enjoy the flic.
Thanks TMC.
Everybody wants to back into a spot which is fine but when you nose in your tractor is protected from some asshole clipping it trying to do what this guy is doing. I nosed in a lot it also gives you a little bit more privacy from the noise and all the commotion. Nosing in is not a sin, it may save your fenders from getting bashed in.
I go out Monday morning to meet my TE and continue my journey. Your guy did great. You taught him well. ❤ 💯 👍
Craxy
Shit...if the trailers in the front of him had the sleepers hooked up and it was night time he wouldnt make it man...look at all that space he has in daytime...train him at night when,a truck stop is jammed packed
Drive 3 mph thru the lot then get out and look 10 times to get parked lol
No wonder you can't make 400 miles a day.
Step 1: just find a row. Any row. Step 2: pull in alongside at the end, effectively making a new unauthorized parking place (that probably blocks in a few guys parked perpendicular in marked spots from being able to pull out) because you're too lazy to back into any of the 25-50 spots still available. #3: Repeat until there are at least 3 guys per row parked illegally. #4: if you are a flatbedder, just park where ever you feel like it (curb, fuel island, street, travel lane, etc. Because flatbedders are Super Special and Very Important conceited Drivers that don't have to follow any rules. 😎
What about when there is a lot of traffic in the lot at night time? How many times can he get out and walk around the truck without other drivers becoming annoyed?
Any one can get out and look as much times , I don’t want my truck damage,
@@truckeraxelmunoz4939 I know they can. But you didn't answer the whole question.
What do you do when other truckers get violent? I'm sure it happens. Do you fight them? Or do you pull away in defeat? Just curious. I know what I would do.
@@jaepcam I’ve never seen that happen, but I tell all my trainees to turn off the rlCB
Putting a spread axle flatbed into a hole seems a lot easier to do than a tandem 53 footer box gotta chase those things in those flatbeds don’t runaway from you to fast and can be controlled don’t know if TMC uses 48 footers though
