Seeing D smile like that warms my heart with so much joy! Its rare to see D in good mood and joyful face. Its so beautiful! Who ever made this story should gain an oscar or price for best novel! A Novel price!

D the lengendary vampire hunter. The books are much better and he becomes very powerful with every encounter on the frontier. I am on book number 15 and can't wait to read the rest.

@R1R2R3L1L2L3 The first theme that plays is simply titled "D's Theme (Parting)". Sometimes it's translated as "Theme of D (Departure)" or some combination of the two. The subtitle is in reference to his first theme from earlier in the movie, which is subtitled (Entrance).
The movie might have a few story issues and the electronic fake instruments have not aged well, but I'd say it's a great movie in it's own right. I don't know how it is versus source material, but yesterday I opened it just to randomly see how animation looks like in various parts of the movie and ended up watching it in full although I normally hate vampire stories and dislike watching movies. The intrigue, the characters and their motivations, the dialogues, were all very good. And if someone is not convinced by those, the animation alone makes it worth watching as a piece of complex and very difficult craftmanship.
of course D& Alucard are uncanny from each other, known fact is that D is the son of Dracula, &in volume 8 of the manga Hellsing Alucard turns out to be Count Dracula, (Alucard is Dracula spelled backwards, after all)

You can say whatever you want about the film itself but I'd honestly consider this one of the best anime endings of all time, perfection.

元々小説の大ファンでこの映画も勿論だけど2000年辺りに公開された映画も見たしラジオドラマも聞いた( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
