- In todays short I upgraded my internet so I no longer have to suffer when using WiFi! My old router was not cheap by any means but had constant issues dropping out and slow speeds which shouldn't have been the case. I've upgraded to the TPLink AX3000 router that features WiFi6, a mesh system, and speeds of up to 2400mbps on the 5Ghz band! I saw an increase of almost triple the speeds over WiFi after installing the AX3000 by TPLink and couldn't be happier with the performance so far. Unfortunately for me I am in Wisconsin and we just cant seem to get fiber in most parts..

Yes I just canceled today fucking horrible guy over the phone was like what's the problem I am like to slow he's like we have an unlimited plan that should fill your needs. I respond like thats usage not mpbs he's like ohh yea your right trying to trip me up into upgrading my "speed"

I left T-Mobile after like 10 years, went to att cell service. Absolutely horrible mistake. I stayed with att for a little over a year, before going back to T-Mobile.

@DevChar don't be stup1d bro, even if you have 500mbps plan and you have trash router, you won't be able to achieve 500 mbps, that's why you buy a router with good ram and cpu in it that can handle high speed and multiple devices. dum 4ss
you could upgrade the plan causing you to pay more money monthly for faster internet or get a better router causing you to only pay the initial money and it will make ur internet faster without having to pay more monthly

I have the same router. Have had horrible speeds with it. I want to go back to Netgear Nighthawk. Worked so much better.
hard to imagine how it feels with lightning fast wifi, the highest my wifi ever reached in download speed was probably 300 kbps
Jesus christ do you reserve your PC for an entire week when trying to download a game?? I get kb speeds on my steam deck for a reason I haven't been able to figure out yet. Can't believe I actually used those speeds happily as a kid

I have the archer tp link. Have had it for 5 years. It has worked great. Never have looked into getting a different one. Other than normal random lag I usually don’t have problems

All you need is a cheap USB-C to Ethernet dongle. Works a treat!
I lived in Utah it's slow out here when i used to live in cities it gets faster servers. i need my own wifi really faster I'm might save up some data couple years keep paying for it
My current router is pushing 9 years old I think, and it runs at like 110 mbs so maybe a upgrade might be good

Ironically, those two speeds are the speeds I get from way off in my room, compared to when I'm near the router 😂 got 300mbps speeds just so I can pull 60-80 from the other side of the house

do you think 5ghz would be beneficial for me? Router would be on the same floor, give or take 20/25 feet, ~7 walls between computer and the router. 6 connected devices. 2/6 devices would use the 5ghz
does this basically just amplify your connection radius? because my plan is 18mbps which is the most they offer where i am, and with multiple people on the wifi i lag a lot like a lot, so would this benefit me at all? i get around 15mbps download on a good day and rarely above 1mbps upload

Depending if you are on console or pc, try simply using a different DNS, wifi extenders, mesh systems, rebuilding database for playstation. Completely powering off and unplugging an Xbox. Or just set your priorities to an ethernet cable.
