Using a normal curler I always cut my skin so I hated the experience so much before. This is a big game changer! It's small and pretty and it fits in my makeup bag nicely! I charged it once when I got it. On a daily use frequency, it's been working for about two weeks now! Impressive!!! ☺☺☺
Try the Milani anti gravity mascara. It’s literally the first mascara that doesn’t smudge under my eyes by the end of the day - and at 51, I’ve tried a LOT of mascara. Granted I have very oily eyelids, but this mascara…brilliant. Highly recommend!
This isn’t the only one that won’t smudge, but I totally agree that this is a phenomenal mascara- drugstore or otherwise. I think of it as a mix between Stila Huge (which I can’t use on lower lashes, but LOVE for top lashes, and Bite’s Upswing which works well for both, but is going out of business. What I love about Milani is I can shape my lashes with it, as it’s not too heavy (which is what I love about Stila), but it’s smudge, transfer, and flake free, even on my lower lashes. It’s just amazing and the price is so much better.
Since mascara doesn’t even seem to stick to my lower lashes at all, especially the outer corners (I have dry skin, not oily, so it isn’t that), I’m wondering if this would work for me. Thanks for the suggestion!

I really liked the format of this video! Very organized and much less subjective than some other youtubers comparison videos. I think you should add a Curl rating -- because sometimes mascaras add great length and volume but lashes fall down quickly. All day curl hold is super important for me as an Asian with stick straight lashes!

Great video. I wear contacts and use waterproof, so the comb wands don’t work for me and flaking is a big issue. Current fave is bambi eyes by loreal; it seems least irritating in allergy summers. But I do like voluminous, lash paradise, and the whole falsies line including bounce and curl and collosal. Drugstore mascaras are a great simple pleasure!
Maybelline has ALWAYS been my favorite mascara! I’m using Maybelline Great Lash past five years. It’s on wet side, firm wand, perfect side bristle head, perfect defined bristles and you have total control in applying. It’s more natural looking which I prefer so not super volumized. It lasts all day as long as I cover upper lid in powder up to brow as you do -I have oily lids. Love it, not clumpy.
I love a less volume more length/ natural looking mascara and I just recently discovered one that works so well for me. Elf lash it loud in brown is one I’m definitely buying again. And I love all the affordable skin care/ hair care/ makeup videos…keep ‘em coming!

And I have brown eyes and hair so jet black can work for me too. I’ve just found I like the brown :). Hope you like it I know mascara isn’t always a one size fits all
Ooo I’m gonna have to get some of that Maybelinne mascara. I’ve been hooked on Essence Lash Princess waterproof since I first found it. I absolutely love Essence’s mascara. I need to branch out and give some others a try
I love the l'oreal million lashes. I started using it again last year and it's so good, gives length, separates and keeps the curl and doesn't smudge . My sister asked was I wearing lash extentions and then went and bought the mascara. 👌😆
I have never found a drug store mascara that does anything for my lashes. They are so drying and normally need to be replaced every few weeks. Mascara is my pet peeve! Why not spend a little more and not have to replace it as often. I keep trying , but no luck yet. I’ve tried most all of these with no luck. Thanks for the comparison video Abbey. You have such beautiful lashes ! Youth does make a difference

My favourite mascaras are L'oreal Million Lashes serie, esp. butterfly effect, Paradise too, yet dries faster than Million Lashes. I like also Bourjois Twist serie, and Pupa Vamp! serie. Maybelline has good mascaras, but they dry fast, so after 2-3 weeks is better to buy new one. L'Oreal Million Lashes has similar formula, but last 3 times longer and do not crumble during a day.
AMAZING review!!! RE: funky lashes (LOL), do you tend to sleep on your left side? I tend to sleep ok my right side and my right eyelashes are kinda funky and never look at nice as my left. Then again, I’m also left-handed so…yeah who knows?

Cover girl lash blast volume and clump crusher extensions is what I've been using. Love it I've found if you tilt your head back and squint your eyes, and put mascara on that way, you can get to root of the lash easier

One of my all-time favorite drugstore mascaras is the Maybelline rocket mascara. But anyone who's ever worn it knows that it is nearly impossible to take off. My personal award for the driest mascara would have to belong to L'Oreal Lash Paradise. Gosh I love that stuff - there's nothing it doesn't do well. But every single tube, let me clarify, every.single.tube dried out in less than 3 weeks. I thought it was me, hence the reason I bought multiple tubes! Then I actually bought a few more and gave them to coworkers to see if they mentioned anything. Yep, they all liked the mascara but said that it dried out too fast. Now, my current fave is the L'Oreal Age Perfect Waterproof mascara. An awesome tubing mascara that wears like iron and removes easily with warm water. So, SO good. Great video as usual. Always a thumbs-up from me due to your awesome editing skills - you can tell you really care about your content!!

Thank you so much for the great comparison of drugstore mascara. I loved all the photos at the end where you could really see the ones that looked great and also pretty natural and the ones that look like "spider eyes". My pet peeve with mascara is flaking and evidently none of these did that? So darned uncomfortable when that happens.
After watching the video, I purchased a few mascaras, Maybelline The Colossal and Revlon So Fierce. I thought, "what is all the fuss about?" After applying one coat of mascara, it was like I had bionic eyelashes! Impressive results. My husband noticed the difference - as an aside, he notices stuff like that, cute outfit, new hair-do - I appreciate that about him.
You need to save the wand on the one that seperated your lashes the best and use it in the tube that you really liked the formula! The telescopic actually looked great on you
I have the same issue where my left eye clumps way more. Watching your footage it looks like when you apply the left eye you are angling the wand upwards toward the inner corner and dragging towards the outer eye as you run it through the lashes. This is pulling the lashes on the inside over toward the outside and clumping them to the lashes beside them. I realize I am doing this as well so I’m going to focus on keeping the wand more horizontal and that should help. Thanks for this. My holy grail was the original Bambi eye but in the last couple months I’ve been finding it flakes and smudges and I don’t like it that much. I have been enjoying the Sephora Collection Big by Definition. I got it as a sample at first and had to buy the full size.

I've just used the Maybelline ones from the drugstore, as I generally prefer Benefit for mascaras. I do like Maybelline for both Mascaras and liquid eye liners though

Completely agree. I tried Great lash yrs ago and it's so freaking wet and messy and I just don't get it. I really do think most women prefer a drier formula. Hence why the Lash Paradise and Better than Sex have been so popular.
Your least liked is my GO-TO!!!! Has been for YEARS!!! I also like a wetter formula. I find it lasts longer and doesn't flake. Obviously I need to get out of my box and try something new! I will be making some new purchases soon!
If you’re looking for a good waterproof mascara, I definitely recommend Maybelline Skyhigh mascara, you can normally get it at any drugstore, however I always have a hard time getting it off with regular micellar water, but if you have one that contains oil it’s a lot easier to get off!
New viewer here, Great analysis and content! Super organized and packed with information. One thing I've noticed (and I don't care for) about changes to the mascara tubes is the introduction of tapered/oversized wand handles. The designers may not realize it, but as I've gotten older (I'm 55 y.o.), that design is difficult to hold, especially if the user has arthritis. I really wish Loreal would bring back their Lash Out mascara. It was my HG for 25 years. Didn't smudge in the FL heat & humidity, didn't clump, built volume and length beautifully. And, it was cheap as chips.
L'oreal owns Maybelline and other drugstore and high end cosmetics. How many mascara's on the market all claim they do the same thing, Lol I agree the L'oreal Lash out mascara was a favorite too, then I tried the Maybelline One by One... the wand was perfect. My favorite mascara now is the Essence Lash Princess Sculpted volume mascara , the wand is slightly curved. This mascara has been my favorite for 5 years 💕

I haven't tried the Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume, I'll give that a try! My lashes are pretty long (they touch my glasses, a problem that isn't really a problem...) but at 55, I need volume!

Loreal Unlimited is the way to go, in my opinion. Just enough volume, lengthens, easy application, separates. Angie from Hot and Flashy loves it, too!

Thank you so much for the great comparison of drugstore mascara. I loved all the photos at the end where you could really see the ones that looked great and also pretty natural and the ones that look like "spider eyes". My pet peeve with mascara is flaking and evidently none of these did that? So darned uncomfortable when that happens.

After watching the video, I purchased a few mascaras, Maybelline The Colossal and Revlon So Fierce. I thought, "what is all the fuss about?" After applying one coat of mascara, it was like I had bionic eyelashes! Impressive results. My husband noticed the difference - as an aside, he notices stuff like that, cute outfit, new hair-do - I appreciate that about him.

You need to save the wand on the one that seperated your lashes the best and use it in the tube that you really liked the formula! The telescopic actually looked great on you
I have the same issue where my left eye clumps way more. Watching your footage it looks like when you apply the left eye you are angling the wand upwards toward the inner corner and dragging towards the outer eye as you run it through the lashes. This is pulling the lashes on the inside over toward the outside and clumping them to the lashes beside them. I realize I am doing this as well so I’m going to focus on keeping the wand more horizontal and that should help. Thanks for this. My holy grail was the original Bambi eye but in the last couple months I’ve been finding it flakes and smudges and I don’t like it that much. I have been enjoying the Sephora Collection Big by Definition. I got it as a sample at first and had to buy the full size.

I've just used the Maybelline ones from the drugstore, as I generally prefer Benefit for mascaras. I do like Maybelline for both Mascaras and liquid eye liners though

I'm the opposite and love a dry mascara formula since I like a natural lash look and they're also way less messy to apply on my hooded eyes.
Completely agree. I tried Great lash yrs ago and it's so freaking wet and messy and I just don't get it. I really do think most women prefer a drier formula. Hence why the Lash Paradise and Better than Sex have been so popular.
Your least liked is my GO-TO!!!! Has been for YEARS!!! I also like a wetter formula. I find it lasts longer and doesn't flake. Obviously I need to get out of my box and try something new! I will be making some new purchases soon!

Do any of these mascaras have a waterproof formula? Can you please do a review specifically for waterproof mascara and eyeliners.
If you’re looking for a good waterproof mascara, I definitely recommend Maybelline Skyhigh mascara, you can normally get it at any drugstore, however I always have a hard time getting it off with regular micellar water, but if you have one that contains oil it’s a lot easier to get off!
Layer the Telescopic with a volumizing mascara! It’s great!!

Covergirl Clump Crusher is great to use and really is clump free. Will try the Maybelline Volume Express next time I need a mascara.

New viewer here, Great analysis and content! Super organized and packed with information. One thing I've noticed (and I don't care for) about changes to the mascara tubes is the introduction of tapered/oversized wand handles. The designers may not realize it, but as I've gotten older (I'm 55 y.o.), that design is difficult to hold, especially if the user has arthritis.
I really wish Loreal would bring back their Lash Out mascara. It was my HG for 25 years. Didn't smudge in the FL heat & humidity, didn't clump, built volume and length beautifully. And, it was cheap as chips.
L'oreal owns Maybelline and other drugstore and high end cosmetics. How many mascara's on the market all claim they do the same thing, Lol I agree the L'oreal Lash out mascara was a favorite too, then I tried the Maybelline One by One... the wand was perfect. My favorite mascara now is the Essence Lash Princess Sculpted volume mascara , the wand is slightly curved. This mascara has been my favorite for 5 years 💕

I haven't tried the Essence Lash Princess Sculpted Volume, I'll give that a try! My lashes are pretty long (they touch my glasses, a problem that isn't really a problem...) but at 55, I need volume!
