Thanks Joe! This one I was really excited about. Im really a super strat fan. My real guitars are San Dimas Jacksons from the mid 80s. I like the flat wide necks which I prefer over a thick C neck. The pickups sound really good and are already wax potted. The pots are mini and smooth....oh and the whammy bar system actually stays in tune.
Niicee!! The Yellow looks a helluva lot better on your vid, than the pics on ebay lol 😆 😂 never was a fan of that color tell now though. This was helpful for me cause I'm ordering my own ebay Ibanez Universe model, but next month (bday gift for myself), and knowing/seeing how they package & ship them too. Whew!! What a relief lol... BTW, the Universe Model I'm getting is the "Green Dot" UV70P. I'll do a unboxing of my own as well too. Great vid again and you gained a new sub!
The colours don't look as vibrant as they should be and there are a host of details which are not the same as the 30th Anni re-issue but it still looks pretty cool. Especially because it probably cost 10% of the genuine item. How does it play? Did you need to set-up/mod before playing?

No I don't, but I may have mentioned it in the video or the post? Either way most of these companies change their names every six months or so. I would look for Jems...then see if the broker has the same name I mentioned in the video.
Insist on pics as they build it. They will ignore you, or one day out of nowhere you will get pics of your guitar by the ocean sitting on a box. They have all been the actual guitar in the pics.

That's a generous offer. Im sorry I cant part with it, it is my favorite guitar at the moment. It was under $300.00. I had to move the neck and I have a lot of luthier time into it. Im sure yours plays great out of the box!

How would you rate that neck in terms of craftsmanship? As far as accuracy of inlays, how well the frets are set, etc.? Are there any minor flaws you've noticed about any of it? I'm asking because I paid $400 for a neck from Perle Guitars and I'm EXTREMELY unhappy with it. There is a spot on the fretboard that he messed up an inlay and used wood filler to correct it- SUPER noticeable and the size of a typical dot inlay. The fretwork is complete trash. The stem of the vine is just set in epoxy, and not evenly... I think it would be cheaper to just get a legit China copy, scrap the body, and use the neck with the vine or pyramids than to deal with these USA custom shops and their outrageous neck prices and shitty craftsmanship
First off thx for not ripping on it! This is my 'player' now. The neck is very nice. Five layers of wood. No fret issues and the inlays look really tight. Next to my '80s jacksons/charvs, its one of my favorites. The neck wasnt set properly in the pocket. I had to plug the holes and drill new holes. Now its aligned. Also, I have yet to wax dip these PUs and they sound really good for some reason. The clean, out of phase strat sound is uncanny. The wood is not dense. I hope it ages and adds some mojo there. I wouldnt hesitate is you can align a neck. The neck thrus are much better from China.
Part2. Craftsmanship is really surprising on these guitars now, except for the neck alignment issues I mentioned. I want the blue flower one next with the green vine inlays. If Ibanez would have included the other features on their overseas version, I would have bought that. Im glad I didnt. The LPs (from the Epiphone factories most likely), are really nice. Ive been lucky with the frets on all of mine, but I will say they are not the quality of other brand frets. They discolor. What doesnt discolor? the gold hardware on the LPs. They really know how to gold plate, unlike the real LPs which corrode in minutes.

I just really expected better craftsmanship after spending $400 on just a neck. I'm getting kinda bored with this vine, anyways. I'd rather have the pyramids
