- Here´s what I did today. Learning the new single of Animals as Leaders and then spending a lot of time to edit it together to look kinda nice.
The main hybrid picking idea is based on Tim Miller 2-1-2 arpeggio concepts, check it out if you´re interested. I am pretty sure on the Tim Miller appergio Tosin hybrid picks it but also does his technique of selective picking where he hammers on first and then use the pick, same goes for the solo part I think
nah on that one I´m quite certain there´s no selective picking going on. with these notes it´d be pretty hard to integrate. unless you´d just hammer everything

I was wondering the same thing🤔 but for the first solo I am pretty sure when he doubles or triples the notes he is using this technique because the dynamic are really not the same from one to the other! Nonetheless you are amazing! Putting a cover this quick after the release is impressive! Thank you for this work!💕
sloppiest thumping ive ever heard

i think the thump groupings are actually 3,3,3,3,7 where the 7 is 2 + 5
I think the thumping pattern in the original for that part goes
Thumb down up index middle ring middle index
So kinda rolling up and down the hand all the way to the ring finger. Keeps the heavier thumb accent just on the first note. I can't play it that way though.
yeah i don't think tosin plays that way, it sounds like a 2 + 5 to me because it lands on the snare hits

for the intro arpeggio sweep you're playing the 14th fret instead of 17th on the A string, it's supposed to lead into a unison of the 12th fret on the D string. if you watch live videos of him playing it you can see he hits that 3rd note of the arpeggio with his pinky on the 17th.

I´m aware of that! But sacrifices had to be made to learn, transcribe, record and film/edit this song while uploading it in less than 24 hours after it was released. Of course I could have learned the parts tighter if I hadn´t transcribed it or done a more basic video with fewer cuts, but in attempting the full thing here some corners had to be cut
