Thanks for creating Enzo, especially the arpeggiator mode, suits me so well playing a solo instrument like violin. My only wish is if you could design the knobs as inner and outer cores like on some Boss pedals, instead of using the alt button. It would really help if we could see all the settings on the unit at one glimpse.
Thanks a lot, this is yet in 2021 the only review of the Enzo on violin. After getting this pedal one thing I found is, you can mix playin arpeggiated chords and solo melody lines in between, and Enzo will grab your latest few notes and create background arpeggios on the fly, and keep doing it till you stop playing (or for an adjustable time). I find this style of playing is most fun, Enzo becomes your band member playing the arpeggiated chords for you in the background and on the fly, without sticking to a specific scale or chord progression. I also watched your review on the Meris Hedra, liked it, but there you have to choose the scale first, which is limiting compared to the Enzo arpeggitor mode.
give us the knob layout. arp mode obviously and what parameters do you use? example: pitch 12 o clock, mix 3 oclock, modulation 4 o clock etc. as if you were writing your own patch
YES! We found you. And there is a huge community of electric violinists on UA-cam - and Facebook. There's a Facebook group called Electric String Players with a few thousand members. Come hang!
This makes me so happy! I'm so glad the Enzo tracks your violin so well, and you did such a great exploration of the Enzo. Your NS violin is so flexible, but not too surprising considering Ned Steinberger is one of the most thoughtful instrument designers ever.
I am an electric violinist and a composer of my own music and very much appreciate your video(s)! Great demo on this pedal and I am learning from your other videos also... great job!
Linked here from (Animated) d&d 5e Honor scores!, I know nothing about music, and 85% of your terminology was lost on me, but it was damned interesting. Had no idea electric violins were a thing, but they're clearly amazing. 11:55 - I could listen to this for hours. Thank You for creating and sharing.
This is so cool cause it's a real instrument being played like in the old days. Better than Splice loops. And, violin is a gangsta instrument. Was foundation of gangsta rap back in the day.
I was looking for demos of this pedal. Liked and subscribed so I am looking forward to discovering your past videos. Really looking forward to seeing more electric violin with pedals
Very informative post. plan to get an ENZO because of. Can't wait to hear what the ENZO will do with my DIY lap steel, Roland AEROPHONE and Moog ETHERWAVE :-)
I stumbled on Andrew’s channel on accident, then listened to your colab with them and came here. I hit the sub button so fast the moment I saw violin on your video title!
Name Suggestion = ULTIMATE SPACE STRING !The U.S.S VIOLIN! the Potential this brings is phenomenal! {5:00-6:00} MIND = ASTONISHED The Space Vibrations are just too good! I could Listen for hours. Keep up the Grand Sounds Ambient Goddess!
I just ordered, but this video made me even more glad that I ordered one! I'm glad I hung around for the Alien sounds, totally blew me away! I will use the Enzo on my Behringer Solina String Ensemble Analog Synthesizer Module, but I think I'll have to get my plucking sounds from my guitar and samples of a Violin. You are gifted and truly an inspiration. Believe Christ died for your sins and get the free gift of eternal LIFE!
Wow... Those sounds are just amazing! I love how a small change can make a huge impact on the outcome. And the best part is the smile that pops on your face - priceless that you enjoy music and sounds in general so much :)
This is a first for me. Making cool synth instrumentals and it's not a sausage fest. I'm not saying women don't make music but it's always been for the sake of their singing. Cool all the way! And thanks for the tunes I can use in my UA-cam videos.
That combo has pretty much infinite sonic potential - awesome! As for violin names, maybe Dorian? Or Dalton? Getting 19th-century vibes from that colour and shape. Looking forward to what you'll be making with them
Wow you are doing amazing things. I love your tracks - the groove and the cool sounds you make. I especially like the subtle way you play the violin, so full of feeling, the contrast between real instrument and electronic sounds is stunning. The melodies, beats and chord progressions are so laid back and perfect, they make me want to cry sometimes. I'm not kidding. I've used one of your tracks on two videos of mine so far and I'm just about to use Mizuki and Shibuya in a Japan-themed video about Beatles locations in Liverpool. Shibuya sounds a little like Eleanor Rigby so it fits perfectly. I also love Shiki no Uta and I'd like to use that in a video, perhaps about modern architecture in London. I hope you'll watch them and see how I've used your music. In fact, your music influenced the concept of the Beatles presentation. I think you're going to go far and thanks for what you do.
Congrats on breaking 4k. Thorough show case of the Enzo features... I've been listing to your SC Neat Tape during video edits & work. Can't wait to hear your next tasty jams. Violin Name: Biscotti (Italian biscuit, its a snack, for an Italian Instrument) or Licorice for the color
How do you save your setting/ patches without an additional midi controller or computer? It’s a great synth, but the memory is limited and Lacking ! Forgot to tell the whole truth . I’ve got this, a C4 , VG99 and a Boss SY300. I know my synths ( also keyboard synths) I learned synths at the worthless Berklee College of Music when I received my BMUS
I really like this device, and I've never heard of Meris before. I like it also because you don't have to tape on another pickup or midi kind of transducer to my guitar and just plug in. I've never played violin before. I would have to use the bow with my left hand and fingerboard with my right hand. I guess I'd have to go through that task of switching (reversing) the strings around just like I've had to do with the guitar too, huh?
Very cool - thanks for posting. Got me messing around editing patches on a Digitech RP255 to simulate some of these sounds but think I'm going to have to break down and get one ... such a clean sound. [might have something to do with the fact that you're a better violinist, too :) ]
I still want the Enzo! Hedra was my first Meris effect, and it's spectacular! Mercury7 is my next one I think. Then Polymoon. Then Enzo and Ottobit Jr. That's the plan anyway, if my wallet will hold out!
That sounds really good. It makes me want to listen to an E-violin cover of Lucky One by Corrine Bailey Rae...also for a name what about Evy (E-vi, Life) it reminds me of a colorful manhwa named Tower of God
Yeah it is. The thing about this synth is that it isn't really using midi data or tracking the note, it's taking the direct input of your instrument and processing it to make it sound synth-y. It's still pretty cool as an effects pedal
@@littlesnowflakepunk855 I agree it's not MIDI, but our Meris' own wording says it's a group of oscillators driven by pitch tracking: "A multi-voice synthesizer that will track your guitar for tight monosynth leads, complex chord polyphony, or multi-note sequenced arpeggiation."
YUS. Your sounds + the Enzo's tracking brought HUGE smiles on our faces. Thank U.
Make a pedal called the Meris Piper

Great video will have to check out this pedal
I had no idea this was a thing, made my day
SUPER DOPE!!!!!
That pickup selector!! Hidden gem of this rig... Bravo!
Every time there's a new bad snacks video I grin like a big dummy.
10:24-10:50 had me weak😭 Those were some of those most beautiful sounds ever. Not to mention that ending. You’re a phenomenal violinist.

Videos of this pedal will be all over youtube in a year or now. This pedal is so good.

Love the video. Thanks so much! And, of course, we love NS Designs.

Your very talented! Great demo, the Enzo looks fun! 🌞
holy shit, that jam at the end is phenomenal. stumbled across your channel by accident and will definitely be watching more of your stuff!
your 'violin' demo was the best Enzo demo i've seen, and now I have a clue how to operate the one I own . Thanks
You da best on Utube! Keep going, girl!
That's so dope! Awesome video, thanks for sharing.
Amazing demo and great presentation. Full of really useful info but still interesting start to finish.
Keep it up!
You are an excellent musician

it's my most favorite thing!!
SooOooo awesome! 00:09
This sounds awesome! I think we've just figured out how to get violin to fit in our band. Thank you!!!
You're such a glorious nerd :) I dig it.
And you're making me want an electriv violin. Damn it.
6:44 THE LICK
Holy guacamole. I play the cello and this is just blowing my mind... I'm in love. THAT SOUND. FUCK.
This is so dope, more violin videos!
Ahh I love these sounds and jams!!
AHH!! Stop! I can’t take it Dx I need this track in my life....
Cheers from a fellow violinist and synth lover 🎻🎧

I play violin, piano, and bass. I’m loving your vids
You're amazing! Subscribed & liked!
I just don't understand how such an amazing synth pedal could be Made in America but only cost $300. :-o
Woo-Hoo!
Totally have the maple finish 5 string from NS design - totally need to use it more often...
THAT SOUND AMAZING YOU F***ING GODESS OF A WOMAN DO MORE!!!!
I have a prophet rev 2 and 13 years on the violin I think you know what im about to buy lol.

Dopeness im going to attempt on learning the elec violin
I came looking for Meris Enzo demos and found you, love the violin!

8-bit "Drowsy Maggie" sounds dope btw
Bad snacks ? More like the Ultimate snacks!!!
Octaver and my electric violin👌

Stratoleft use a bow on your guitar

You're gonna make it big young lady. Keep doing you.
You really need to check out the strymon big sky reverb pedal. Strymon brand is basically the apple products of effects pedals lol.
Cool , never realized you could use it with a violin... :)
5:17 it took 2 notes to make me hear the voyager intro in my head. WHAT THE FUCK :D
Have you tried the Meris Pokymoon pedal?
Ooooh can you walk us through your live setup?
Beautiful work! At 10:29, the filter envelope is set to trigger or follower?
Ur so talented. Just subbed (yes I'm from andrew but ur better)
do u run a compressor into it first because I just bought one and mine is not working too well
Please make more pedal demos :( this was just cool
So amazing ❤❤❤❤
Very nice 🔥👌
Great video! I can see sometimes you use logic sometimes you use ableton live. Why do you choose one over another? Based on what? Thanks in advance!
This would sound awesome on a bassoon
I watched for the pedal, but left wanting to learn how to play violin.
pretty sounds - what other effects equipment do you use with the violin? Name it Black Betty - bam ba lam!
I have to say, from hundreds of videos on Enzo, yours is the most musical. Most others focus on electronic farting the machine can produce.
That sounds really good. It makes me want to listen to an E-violin cover of Lucky One by Corrine Bailey Rae...also for a name what about Evy (E-vi, Life) it reminds me of a colorful manhwa named Tower of God
Add it with the Hedra
Do you still have to put rosin on it
Ты молодец!
Stradivarmeris ?
Is it reflecting the dynamics you're playing, or am I imagining that?

WOW. You're beautiful and plays a lot. Best combination ever!
You’re a polyphonic arpeggio. Ha thanks for another great video.
Does electric cellists count?
Everything on this video is amazing...Especially You and Your all beauty ;)
So howtobasic used your song?
Yes! They used my song "Fender Bender" from my volume of YT audio library tracks.
@@badsnacks looks like howtobasic is your fan :D
That was cool ♤ Very cool homegirl ☆♡☆♡☆ :)
Sick! Does it work well with acoustic violin too?
You’d need to add a pickup
