The num 1 good reason to have 🐊 in your pond is they keep coyotes out of you cow pasture. I live along the lower Dismal swamp area of North Carolina and I have Bob and Henry to keep coyotes from going after my cows, especially the calf. Coyotes have only 1 way to get to where the cows are, it's swimming across the pond. The gators are separated from the waters where the cows swim and hang out during the day and it's shallow in that part, so no worries about the gators going for the cows. I have no problems with coyotes now, as I rarely even hear them howl at night anymore and never see them . Henry is the main boy who lives in the pond with his girls, and he's around 12-13 ft and 1,000l lbs. Little boy who i call Bob is a visitor from time to time does his part at the other end of the pond and downstream, he's about 10-11 ft and maybe 500-700 lbs.
That is awesome. We have some coyotes and bobcats that i see on the trail cameras, but I never actually see them. Thank you very much for the comment and information. May you have a wonderful day!
Thank you for the comment. The six foot alligator was more concerning because it showed no fear of humans. Bashful seems like a more normal alligator by avoiding humans. May you have an awesome day!
I'm not sure, but I know that FWC will only remove nuisance alligators that are more than 4 feet long. This one is not being a nuisance. Thank you for the question.
lol don’t the alligators eat more fish than an otter? And the otter won’t attack you or your pet. I still don’t like gators, thankfully I’m up in Canada. Floating in lakes without a care in the world.
Gators don't swim as fast as the otters, and our fish population seems to be improving since Bashful showed up. Gators are like moose, bears, or any other big animal. As long as you use appropriate caution and respect, you are fine. By the way. I think moose harm more humans every year than any other animal. Thanks for the comment, and may you have a wonderful day!
Well done from across the pond in the UK . Gloucestershire . Cam
Thank you for the comment. UA-cams reach is amazing!

If the cows had horns wouldn’t that allow them to defend themselves from the coyotes?
Those are some good benefits!
Thank you for the comment. May you both have an awesome day!

How large does a gator need to be to take down an adult human?
